  • anyone here able to help me out?

I purchased from HN today for $198.
Could I go there tomorrow and get the item for $158?
Can't believe the guy didn't tell me at all considering it was on their website!

Also if they don't match the $198.
IS there a chance they have to match JB's $169 offer instead?
That would still give me $30 back. Good enough to go towards xbox headphones.

    • It's probably wasn't in their system as they confirmed with me. They told me to quote the website price and not see what the system has as it is not updated. You can get it for $158 i believe. But be sure to get it before 6pm tomorrow, last day!

Harvey Norman best price guaranteed policy. http://www.harveynorman.com.au/customer-service/best-price-g…

Bring it back and they'll refund you the $40.

  • got one…thanks

  • Say we buy this xbox, can we 'mod' it to play downloaded games?

    • Would like to know as well.

    • +1

Piracy not worth it. Games so cheap from UK.

    • +2

      RGH - Reset Glitch Hack.

      Edit.
But, with the price of games nowadays, especially when you import, it's worth supporting the developers.

      • Would that method (RGH) work with all versions of the 360 that is being sold today?
Some are a newer builds than others?

        • +1

Mmhmm. Any Xbox 360 console, on any dashboard.

      • That seems to good to be true, there must be a downside to it.

        • Edit. My bad. I read your comment wrong.

          No, no downside at all.

        • +1

The only downside here, if it does exist, is your 158 bucks is gonna be the past…

Say out loud: Damn you Ozbargain (in a sarcastic tone)

        • +1

Not all consoles - new slims after Aug 2011 .. cannot be glitched
lot 1130x and before are safe
          http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=73340

        • downside is that Im sure most of these consoles will have corona revision boards. So no RGH. Check the amp rating on the back of machine. 10.86amp is trinity and all good.

      • if its LOT Number 1136x or higher, NOT GLITCHABLE!

      http://www.modsupplier.com/catalog/x360key-xbox-360-usb-load…

There is a small possibility that the these products may not be able to be installed (yet) due to new dvd drive firmware but most are.

I have the x360key and its great, the wasabi uses e-sata hdd while x360key is usb. You have to play regionfree or PAL games. These products are also available from ozmodchips.com but they are about the same price as modsupplier does not include gst until checkout. Both companies have been pleasant to deal with.

Since getting one for my xbox I only occasionally buy ps3 games.

  • the website is clogged. trying to get one since 10 minutes.

  • How much does it cost to do the RGH? Is it cheaper/easier to find someone who will do it and knows how?

    • At least $110, minimum. This is in no way any confirmation of the cheapest price, but to purchase the tools to do the RGH costs $100 itself. If you were to include the labour, it may set you back $150.

      • +1

Mine cost me $30 for a preprogrammed matrix glitcher, 30awg wire $10, 360 opening tool $5 = $45 not $110, boot times are not brilliant but regardless does work

        • cheapest would be HDCM or OzmodCHips @ $130

        • Google "eurasia modchip"

    • USB NAND Flasher costs $20
Matrix Glitcher $25, that's all, I don't know how you guys managed to spend more than $100 for such things.

  • So if slims after Aug 2011 cannot be glitched, does this mean that some/all of the HN and JB ones that are on special wont be able to be glitched?

    • I would say so yes. They will most likely be corona boards, so no glitching

    • Will get the box tomorrow and open it to have a look.

  • Why do these posts always attract the idiots? I mean seriously, I just wasted all my daily negs on one bargain, it's atrocious. Why can't we all just get along?!

  • Bankwest mastercard 10% off makes it only $142.50 now thats a deal

  • HN stock is Lot 1139 so no good

    • +1

that sux. im pretty sure all HN's will have newer stock, best to price match @ Eb games!

    • :(

  • Though still a great price for a new console.

  • Would I be better off purchasing this pack http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/game/console-games-offers/xbo… or buying this and getting everything separately? Sorry i've never owned an Xbox in my life.

  • Has anyone gotten a confirmation email from Harvey Norman after paying by Paypal?

    • Yep I got it instantly. I ordered about 5 minutes after the deal was posted.

    • I was about to ask the same thing actually. The only email confirmation I have so far is from PayPal.

    • I ordered around 10pm and only have the Paypal payment receipt, nothing else from Harvey Norman.

      • My email came through right away, though I purchased with a credit card.

Give it a few hours. Surely, by 7 AM, you will have the email.

    • +1

I ordered mine last night. Got paypal email at 8:59PM and HN Confirmation email at 11:58PM. Today I got HN Invoice and ready for pick up emails at 9:39AM!! (Auburn, NSW store)

  • bought one, it is just amazing , first one in my life. thanks Oz Bargain.
    Cheers

    • what was the lot number on the box?

      • +1

        1140X

  • +1

What are the chances Ill still be able to get one of these just going into the store tomorrow morning? And not buying online.

    • Depends. I ordered online and it asked me which store I'd like to pick up from, so I can only assume that online orders still count towards store stock.

If your local store has 25 consoles and 23 people ordered online, then there will only be 2 remaining in-store.

Again, just assuming. Someone mentioned that the site was not loading earlier, so that right there could mean a lot of people are looking into the sale.

    • I may cancel my order, so don't worry too much

  • I told a friend of mine that lives in QLD about this deal and he said he was in JB hifi at the time and would ask salesmen if they would match.

Not only did they match it, they gave him the following deal:
    * 1x 4gb XBOX360 console
    * 1x standard wireless controller
    * 1x kinect unit
    * 1x game included - kinect adventures

All that for $169.00 (yes you read that correctly - $169.00)

He has never purchased a console (hardcore PC user) and asked if that was a good deal - which I confirmed. He walked out with three of the above bundles, one for himself and then 2x to use as xmas presents for relatives.

Was apparently a flash sale that only lasted tonight until close at 9pm.

Hands down the best deal I have witnessed. Wish I had been there :-(

    • This - http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/58959 but without Kinect.

    • +1

We really need a receipt to pricematch

      • +2

I am going to try and get him to scan and send to me tomorrow morning, but I hold little hope that the JB in my area will price match. They have said no to me before - even though it was a JB receipt.

Reason given - Individual stores hold different specials that other stores are under no obligation to price match.

        • any luck on the receipt to post?

        • Articfox, any luck on getting that recept?

I was all set to get the $278 JB 4GB Kinect bundle and get the $50 cash back. But, now that they've jacked up their price, I need a good kinect bundle.

Otherwise, I'm going to have to go to HN very soon.

        • +1

          @ Iceman82,

If it gets posted, and you manage to get it price-matched - legend.

Otherwise, take a look at the Target deal starting tomorrow.

$319, with 2 extra Kinect games, then obviously the $50 off.

        • @ryang
Cheers mate. I've had a look at that but it's for my brothers birthday and I don't think he wants a girly dancing game, and I don't think joyride is any good. If they allowed a swap for a similar priced item, maybe I'd be in on that deal.

        • Sorry guys,

Mate has been uncontactable all day but I should speak to him again late tonight. I will post as soon as I get it, but I doubt anyone will match it. I tried it over phone to every retailer in my area (EB Games, JB hifi, WOW, Dick Smith, Harvy Norman) and they all said they would probably get fired trying to match that deal. I said I would be able to produce a receipt (eventually) but they still said no.

    I just got mine
I think it comes with wired but will take wireless controls as well; from the above
Can I hook this up to my sons over the GB LAN to stop him screen cheating when I slaughter him in COD
    MUAHHAHAHAHaaaaaaaaaaaa
    LMAO

  • Bam. Awesome deal.

  • +2

so does it comes with the wireless controller or wired controller?

    • From the harvey norman website:

      What's in the box:
      Xbox 360 4G console
      Wireless Controller

      From Xbox:

      Xbox 360 4GB Console
The new Xbox 360 4GB console has built-in wi-fi, a black wireless controller, a standard definition composite A/V cable, and comes with a free one-month Xbox LIVE Gold Membership.

You would assume that this is the one.

    • Yes, wireless controller. I just brought one and picked it up.

It is as described, but didn't say thing about free live membership. But I haven't turned it on yet.

  • Will I run into space problems with getting the 4GB?
I'm only wanting play Forza and a few other games. Probably won't use LIVE.

    • Ive read around and it looks like it will be fine. If you come across any dramas you can always get a 8G or 16G memory stick and you will be fine. You can pick them up by doing a google search on 16G xbox 360 memory stick.

  • I bought one for a friend since it was that cheap. Just purchased one at the Wiley Park store. I got there as soon as it opened (was on the way to work anyway). The guys were aware of the offer but thought it was yesterday for some reason. I showed them the HN web page off of my phone, they were happy to comply. They probably have a fair few left. I was the only person there at the time buying one. I didn't pre-order or anything. The sales guy offered 2 years warranty for about half price too.

    Awesome deal. Thanks OP!

  • I didnt think they still made a wired controller for the 360. So the 4GB does come with wireless correct

    • does anyone know if it comes with the new transforming D-pad controller?

      • Just bought this. It's a wireless controller but not the transforming one.

  • ordered online and picking up in store, easy :D

  • +1

Anyone looking to buy one tomorrow with the 50$ cash back, the JB hifi kinect bundle price has gone up to $338 from $279 that makes it not a good deal, so its better to buy the console buy itself today at HN
Funny thing is 250gb only cost $10 more and they are hiking up all the prices today

    • this is how to do business?

  • Damn .. Looks like JB changed price from $278 to $338.

    http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/game/consoles/xbox-360-4gb-ki…

is it still worth to buy it for $338 and get $50 cashback?

    • Target will sell it with 3 games for $319 tomorrow.

    • Seriously, just do the math.

      $338 - $50 = $288

      Previous price = $278

Paying $10 more = Not as good a deal.

      • not really .. previously it was like $278 - $50 = $228 .. :)

        • not really … previously it was $278. There was no $50 discount while it was $278.

In the real world, people either bought it for $278 while it was down at that price, or can go tomorrow and pay $338 with $50 rebate. $278 vs $288, $278 wins.

I wish you were right though, I would have been picking up the $278 - $50 deal if the price stayed down. Now I'm re-thinking my options

  • Just picked one up this morn, thanks kirt!
I've been trying to get one for a while now but keep missing all the sales. Very happy now :D

  • So the 250GB system comes with the Transforming controller but not the 4GB

  • So how many people got the fat XBox Elite just like me and still wants to buy this?

    • I have 2 Fat Elites and want this

    • I've had my crapbox launch model repaired twice for rrod and now the dvd drive is failing, so at least with this cheap slim i can still use all my guitar hero/rockband games for when my family comes over for christmas, and then use it as a media player in my bedroom. Bargain price!

    • Me. Though I ended up buying it.

  • Got one. Thanks! There's going to be so many of these on ebay later today.

  • Picked 2 up this morning. Lot number 1133X. Both are Trinity. (RGH-ackable)
I also have one other one at home which is 1134X and it is also a Trinity. (RGH-ackable)

  • I ordered for instore pickup but never got a confirm email. Just went into the store and they had no idea I had even ordered, so if you are waiting for the store to call you, I'd just go in!

    • Did they let you pick it up without a tax invoice? Their website says they e-mail you a tax invoice and you need it in order to pick up. I only ask because I also did not recieve a confirmation e-mail.

      • on the email it says either confirmation email or tax invoice. but I guess that doesn't really help anyway…

        • I just had the order confirmation that comes up when you pay. Never got the email either. They also didn't check any of the other things that it said on the order confirmation (ID, credit card etc). Was in there for ages whilst they rang someone and they still really had no idea what happened. They got me to sign a receipt thing in store. This was Adelaide City Cross.

    • Same story at HN Marion, I just got back from picking mine up. All I had when I went there was my PayPal receipt, but my HN Confirmation e-mail came in while I was at the store. Apparently there was some kind of issue with their online orders, they had to call someone but it was all sorted for me within 15 mins.

      • yep just after I wrote this I got the order confirmation email. Mind you the order confirmation is exactly the same as what I printed out last night.

        • I have still not received my order confirmation email and I purchased 24 hours ago. I haven't been able to get to the store, I was planning Thursday evening as it is open until 9pm. If it doesn't come in the next 24 hours, I'll just have to go into the store without the confirmation email and endure the 20 minutes of flapping about also.

  • Just noticed that it's in-store only now.

  • +1

I still haven't got a confirmation from HN. I'm guessing their warehouse team got IRL ozbargained.

  • Just picked up one at HN Watergardens VIC, no probs at all, guy said he had heaps left, he is supprised they havnt flown out the door..

    • Yeah the HN store i went to in Chatswood Chase had over 50 left and its crazy they have so many left but i think its because no one knows about it … the only place they have advertised this price looks to be online! and just to compete with JB-Hifi's deal going on at the moment for them hahaa nice one

      • Maybe Microsoft is adjusting their strategy - free hardware soon and earn profit from game and service. At that time all Ozbargainers will be criers. hehe.

  • I need a second wireless controller for my XBox Elite…
Please help me to convince my mrs - what excuses can I use to justify additional expenditure of $130 (approx) with a free console?

    • I've got 7x wireless controllers but sadly (according to your profile) you're from Brissy otherwise I could help you out there.
