      oh awesome!

      • To be fair, Broadlink minis would do the same job for cheaper, just spend a lil bit more time setting them up

But neg is for being cheaper elsewhere :)

        • Got a good guide to set them up with anything but the horrible app?

        • It would depend on the features you are looking for.

Setup does seem pretty easy with the Broadlink overall, you just search for your AC in the list and complete the setup. It is much simpler with the Sensibo as you simply point your existing remote at the Sensibo and you press on. The Sensibo auto configures itself from the remote signal it receives.

There are other advantages to the Sensibo such as its the built in ambient temperature sensor, so its easy to setup rules to automatically turn the air con on and off based on ambient temperatures. I often use those ambient temp sensors with Sensibo's Google Assistant integration. I can query Google what is the temperature in X room, and Google can tell me if it has a Sensibo in that room.

Lastly, I am not sure if the Broadlink has the same level of fine control. Our Sensibo gives us near identical control to the AC remote, including both horizontal and vertical vane control (but this would be based on what model of AC you have and if the Sensibo has the correct control drivers available for that model of AC).

Also with the JB Hifi price, dont forget to use gift cards to knock the price down a little lower.

        • A benefit with the Sensibo is also that it detects any inputs (by reading the IR) sent by the remote. So you can see what setting it currently is and it stays in sync

Better off grabbing one of these Tuya compatible IR Blasters from Kmart for $29 unless you need the temperature or humidity features.

Bonus is it can control most TVs, Stereos, etc. and is Alexa and Google Home compatible.

    • What about just changing temperature of the AC and not needing to detect etc?

      • Not sure about the one from kmart but I have the broadlink and it works with google home, I can just say google to turn on air con on x room and set temperature to y, so obviously if your device works with google home you can change temperature (but don't know if it's running or not)

    • The temperature feature can be pretty useful if you are setting rules to adjust air conditioner temperature
or turning on/off when the room is too hot / too warm

      • But can I just set it to certain temps at a certain time. Is that possible?

      • Don't most Split systems nowadays have a in-built thermostat to detect at least temperatures and maybe humidity?

Why would you need these if the aircon already has it in built?

  • Not a good price

  • These work well. I think they are overpriced, should be about $70

Agree overpriced, however I just got the JBHIFI one and it works very well. It also graphs the last 24 hours of room temp/humidity, and also logs what is sent to the air con as well as capturing the physical remote interaction if its in sight which I found nifty.

This over the simple IR blaster works best if you want to be sure what "settings" the air con is currently on rather than randomly turning the temp up/down when you may not know what its actually set to (I think).

Only trouble I have with a mobile IBIS4 air con is when it sends any commands it changes the display on the air con to Fahrenheit until you use the physical remote again -_-

    • concur with what you said .

for those who only need to turn on and off aircond , yes sure broadlink might do the job as well.

but for those who wants advance feature like climate react etc , this works much better than broadlink.
