[XB1, XSX, PC] 3 Months Game Pass Ultimate $1 (Both New and Some Old (Lapsed) Subscribers) Inc. EA Play & Disney+ trial @ MS

2720

I was hoping this deal would also happen for previous Game Pass subscribers and here it is! There is another deal specifically for new subscribers but thankfully old (lapsed) subscribers can now get the deal too. You know the drill, lots of great games to play over the next three months. Xbox Live included for online multiplayer. Over Christmas there are usually some very decent Deals With Gold (Game specials that require gold), so for $1 you'll also get access to that.

You will get Games With Gold (Free games every month) - You get to keep Xbox One games while you have a subscription to Xbox Live Gold. You get to keep Xbox 360 games even when your subscription/s expire. Some months in the past have come with decent games. But it can be hit or miss depending on what games Microsoft chooses to give.

Includes EA Play and the Disney+ trial offer (Claim by 31/1/21. Redeem by 2/3/21).

As far as I know, Game Pass Ultimate includes Game Pass for PC, so I've added relevant details to post.

Note- it works for me and says 47 more days left to join but I'm not 100% sure it will work for all previous subscribers. Based on the comments, it looks like it usually works if you have an expired subscription, i.e. you do not currently have an active subscription. For reference, the last time I had Game Pass Ultimate was August (it was also a discounted deal). If you have had Game Pass Ultimate/Xbox Live Gold (in particular a DISCOUNTED DEAL) more recently, it most likely WILL NOT work for you - Microsoft is being generous but they do not appear to be offering it to those who have recently taken advantage of other special GPU/XBL offers.

Since there appears to be 47 days left on the offer, those with expiring subscriptions theoretically should get access to this deal when their subscription ends (if ending within the next 47 days).

It looks like plenty of ex-subscribers have been able to take up this deal. Sorry to those it hasn't worked for, presumably it has to do with how recent your last Game Pass subscription/discounted subscription/free trial/Xbox Live Gold was.

Mod: Duplicate Exception - More than 100+ votes at the time of resolving reports, so it won't be considered either way. Updated the title to 'some' lapsed subscribers, due to differing success in comments, take the lapsed subscribers part of the deal as targeted (not the new subscriber part).

  • Ultimate expires in a couple of days for me. Fingers crossed this will work when the time comes. Thanks for sharing!

Sorry guys, I think my question might have been answer somewhere but I wasn't sure about it.
I had game pass ultimate before and no longer a subscriber. Does 36 months gold live conversion method work with this deal?

  • +1

Since there appears to be 47 days left on the offer

Where did you see that, would prefer to wait until there's something new coming out on the pass that I'd want to play

  • +1

Signed up (new subscriber) for $1. Used Cashrewards for $1.60 cashback. If this tracks well then a neat profit of $0.60 :)

  • worked for me , then turned off recurring billing , kids sorted for chrissy holidays

Anyone using this on PC unable to play games or use the perks (D+, nitro)?

On the xbox PC app, it says it can not load my subscription even though on the browser my sub is active.

    • +3

I'm getting this, with my existing subscription.

Find the games in the Windows Store instead to download and play them; it seems the Xbox App isn't syncing subscription data properly. Might be due to these new changes in the MS backend

    • +3

Getting that too, but you can still install games and use them. If you want to see the perks, load up the app on your mobile and you can then claim them.

      • Except you can't claim the Disney Plus on the mobile app. You can claim other in-game items but I am more interested in Disney Plus.

        • I think ULTIMATE also include PC.

          • @superforever: Hi, it does indeed. The issue is that the Xbox app on PC is not recognising your membership or Perks.

You can still install games via the Windows Store and the mobile app. However, Disney Plus is saying sorry there is a problem via PC and you cannot redeem this via Windows store or mobile app.

            • @RPGPlayer: I heard you can redeem from mobile app.

              • @superforever: I can't. The mobile app says to redeem from PC or Xbox. I don't have an Xbox just PC. I keep on receiving the error message above as many others have stated here.

                • @RPGPlayer: Yeah didn't work on Windows PC and on mobile app don't know where is Perk?

                • @RPGPlayer: Just claimed Disney+ from android app

                  • @superforever: Well done. Mine is an Apple so that could be the problem. Thanks for advising.

I cancelled and got a refund on the subscription anyways. As enticing as it seemed, in settings they couldn't even download to my D Drive. A poor Buggy effort from Microsoft. I have loads of unplayed and current games from Steam and Epic. Cheers

  • Legend thanks OP!

  • Thanks OP. Works on lapsed Xbox PC subscription, about 2ish months ago.

Would never pay full price for this. Microsoft always seems to have these $1 deals - probably prior to every half-yearly report to the shareholders lol.

  • Cheers OP! Worked for a lapsed subscriber.

  • Subscription lapsed about a week ago, $1 deal worked just fine. Thanks.

As I understood you could buy Xbox Live gold and buy one month Ultimate and it would covert Gold to Ultimate at a 1:1 ratio. I am trying to do this the final step of upgrading a Gold account to Ultimate however I am getting the following message:

    "Upgrading your membership

Joining Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will upgrade your remaining Xbox Live Gold, Xbox Game Pass or EA Play membership(s) into Xbox Game Pass Ultimate at the current conversion ratio, up to 36 months (any time over 36 months will be lost). Note that all conversions are final, and the conversion ratio is subject to change.
    See xbox.com/gamepass for more information."

Am I in the correct spot?

  • Bugger. If I'm counting my days correctly this expires on 26 Jan and my GPU sub expires on 1 Feb. Here's hoping they'll either extend it or another deal will roll along! :)

    • I wonder if you can cancel it then resubscribe with this deal?

  • Excellent Xmas timewaster thanks Op !

Didn't work for me but my ultimate game pass expired only a couple of days ago

  • Only for people not on expired / elapsed Game Pass Ultimate.

No game pass sub, expired over a month ago.
Got 24 months gold banked up last week* was ready to convert having to sub 15.95, luckily I haven't converted.
Confirm I can redeem offer and convert my gold, thanks.

    • +1

So did you subscribe game pass ultimate before? and now using 24 months gold and do the convert using this deal?

  • The deal worked for me again as the last time I had game pass was this same deal a year ago. I wonder if it's a yearly summer special. I don't remember actually playing anything though last time around, so maybe I'm wasting a dollar that could be better used for an ice cream cone.

  • Both the windows store and xbox app don't recognize that I have the subscription. If I go into settings, it tells me that I have the subscription active, however it isn't recognized both in browser or through the Xbox App.

    • Same here…I just sent an email, will update here when I get a reply.

      • I opted for a refund, then I'll buy the subscription through the Xbox App for Windows.

        • Did it allow you to buy again using the same email address?

        • I just tried that, same problem

    • I have the same issue. I tried refunding and buying again and same issue.

I have a subscription, but doesnt work when I go into the app, asks me to join but then doesnt work when I retry.

Signed up to play a couple EA Games, found out the EA play only starts on the 15th for PC. Couple days to go till then.

Does PC game pass get the Disney+?

  • Had an old account I had previously used live gold (in the xb 360 and early xb1 days) which seemed to work fine for me, thanks OP!

  • Can someone help me how do I link up my EA play and xbox game pass accounts on pc so i can take advantage of the ultimate subscription

  • Haha…

After all those comments I posted at the other day on page 1 that I could join for a $1, in my ultimate wisdom to delay a few days to join later so it can last longer when I had time to play.

The $1 offer now for me is not available, maybe I need to take my own advice and try again in a few days.

    :(

  • Success - I also had the same problem, but just checked again today and the subscription on the Xbox App is now recognised.

    • Mine works again today too.

No it doesn't dashboard is $15.95.

Weblink was $1, when I went through the process of joining, it decided to go back to $15.95

  • Anybody got EA Play yet? Still don't know how to link? I did play EA games on XBox before.

    EDIT: Found this WTF

  • Works for me now without doing anything else, hurray!

  • Got the game pass. Thanks op. First time using it and trying to play need for speed rivals. Download stops during the middle, at different percent age points. Tried many a times. Any suggestions?

Internet speed, storage are no issues.

I am on Xbox one S
