    Screen looks a bit Messi…

Didn't know Messi was a Socceroo.

        I said 'a bit'

Didn't know Socceroos posed like that.

      • +1

Earns more than the entire Socceroo locker-room including the trainers, managers, coaches, directors, etc.

Edit: Is 'Socceroo Locker room' a tongue twister?

    • lol u serious ?

        • OLED is landfill if anything, you have to replace them every few years due to screen burn in.

What's the point of having a high quality screen with logos burnt in everywhere?

        • +1

$250 for that? Tell him he's dreamin'.

    • I have too many windows and angles. An OLED would be a hindrance.

OLED would be a downgrade for me

SKIP THIS ONE, go for like a TCL if your on a budget. C715

    • WHY?

    • +1

Genuinely curious to know the reasons? I'm not too familiar with the TVs

      • +5

too many to list, simply put, this tv and most lg non OLED tv's have light bleed issues. like those bright spots on black backgrounds. it annoys the shit out of me. and most other people too. tcl c715 on other hand is a mid range model QLED (edge lit) VA panel that gives much better blacks,

the last thing you wana get is an LG IPS panel which gives worst blacks and contrast. also light bleed issues.

next level is LED that is a VA panel and even if its edge lit its a better option than above.

next level is QLED LED which is just a marketing term for a quantom dot layer on top of the previous version. this adds the Q. these also comes in edge lit full array local dimming version.
        a. qled edge lit (tcl c715)
        c. qled FALD (hisense q8)

after than the holly grail is OLED (with its negatives too) like lg c9 or new cx

soon in the near future Samsung is working on Micro led which is suppose to be like OLED without the down sides.

        • Thanks heaps for the breakdown! I'll hold off for a deal on the c715 then.

          • @T18: It's available on Appliances Online for $999 (55" model) which seems to be one of the lowest prices in a while considering the free delivery.

            • @railspider: I'm more looking at 65' ones atm, thanks anyways!

I read lot of issues about TCLs in whirlpool, especially input lag of remote control.

          • @apprentice: throw on a google tv with chrome for 100 bucks and you got ur self the best smart OS on the market

  • haha OOS already wonder how many they actually did have in stock. Dont think there was a rush to buy this.

  • LG LCD have really bad banding issues

  • Have had it for a year, honestly love it. It’s no OLED obviously but good enough for sports and gaming. Doesn’t support 120hz 4k for anyone interested.

  • Owned LG SM8600 65" nearly 12 months, great TV coming from 7yr old 40" Samsung LCD. TV's have amazing technology. Once bought, forget about the other models and just ENJOY.

  • I think they still have 1 in melbourne cbd
