    • +1

10% applies to Tap and go Only.

      • +1

        Yes, correct

      • Or use prezzee and pay with apple pay

        • -3

          Doesn’t work

      • I think they mean you can buy physical gift cards from Caltex, etc.

    • Why not do both?

  • +1

    Should be expired soon

  • +1

Thanks OP, managed to get one.

  • +2

My order status shows "scheduled" tho.

  • +1

    thanks

  • +1

    Thanks OP. Got one.

  • -1

Bought one for myself. Discount not received yet.

    • +3

The $5 bonus credit will apply within 3 days.

    • Yeah normally takes a day or two

  • +1

    got, thanks!

  • +6

Go zippay physical gift card + 10% cashback instead, if you won't max out your $1k on other things. Using Amazon promo credit invalidates you for cashback (gift card doesn't) and can only be used for items sold & shipped by Amazon AU (gift card has no such restrictions)

    • Where is the 10% cashback deal from?

      • +3

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/588546

To do this you would need to buy an amazon gift card from a physical store paying with zippay, on a Saturday in Dec (tomorrow, since I'm in QLD and it's still Christmas). I think 7/11 sells them. But Zippay has a $1k credit limit (unless you specifically did a credit check for more) so it depends what you are buying in-store tomorrow. And each transaction should be <= $300 as the 10% cashback is capped at $30 per transaction.

        • +3

They do a credit check even for the $1000 limit.
If you apply for zip they do a credit check no matter what. (Not sure you are saying otherwise but wanted to clarify for anyone thinking of signing up)

          • @jimbobaus: oh right I thought a bunch of the comments were saying it is only Zip Money (>$1k limit) that does the credit check and not Zip Pay (default $1k limit). thanks for clarifying

            • @mathematicalcoffee: We use zip at work and in the training they were very clear that every customer is credit checked.

I know when I got my initial $1000 I was checked.
I am at the max of $1500 now. They didn’t check me again when they offered the increased limit though.

          • @jimbobaus: Do you know if there is a way to verify your identity with Zip (for setting up a Zip account) over the phone, using a valid government issued document?

If I use the PayPal method on the app, I can see the sheer amount of personal data they want to scrape out of PayPal.
I am definitely not comfortable with them scraping data off Internet Banking.

I tried the Facebook method instead. It timed out with an error.

  • Credit expires in feb if not used. What if I have $400 in credit and only spend $60 before feb? What credit takes precedence?

    • +1

The promo credit expires Feb (I.e. The $5)

The rest sits in your account

They're separate items so you can choose what to apply

  • Can it be amazon egift card?

    • +2

yes just make sure it's at least $50

    • yes, as long as its $50 or more, and the first 5000 buyers

  • +1

    thanks. got one.

  • +8

FYI, don't back out after successfully applying the code the first time. I did and now it says sorry, promotional code cannot be used even though it hasn't been used yet.

    • +4

      Sorry for your loss mate.

    • +1

But if you look above the 'congratulations you qualify' message still is there. Moreover it happened to me last time but still got the $5

      • Nah don’t have that message at all for me. Flat out cannot apply. Ohhhh well

    • +1

This happened to me during the Black Friday sales and a rep in chat was happy to apply the $5 to my account.

      • I got it automatically anyway so I'm guessing you got $5x2

      • -2

Thanks, did this as well and got the credit, didn’t even need to buy the Gc

  • -1

Not as good a deal as getting an Amazon giftcard using Zip on Saturday at a supermarket. Plus it's limited to 5000.

    • +11

this doesn't generate a credit file enquiry

  • +1

    Got one

  • Basically it's 10% off but may lose cashback when you use it. I will just buy a 50 gift card tomorrow using zip. To get 10% cashback and still guarantee the future cashback.

    • +5

      It's 9% off. ($50 spend for $55 of stuff).

Zip version is actually 10% off ($45 spend for $50 of stuff) and doesn't have a time limit.

      • So it's Even better with zip then

  • Does the whole $55 has to be used by 15th Feb or only $5 promotion credit to be used?

    • +3

      $5

  • +1

    Thanks, OP. Got one.

  • +1

    Got one!

  • +1

    Got one, thanks

  • +1

    Thanks, got one.

  • +1

Thanks for sharing OP. I’m always happy to get 9% off.

This is also good for people who can’t use Tap and Zip to buy gift cards for 10% cashback on Zip Super Saturdays (for whatever reason).

  • Sigh, applied the code then accidentally closed the app while checking out. Now it says the code doesn't work. Excellent.

    • It should still show as applied during checkout but won't let you reapply the code. Happened to me last time.

    • Same as me! Now I think I might just give up. Don’t want to risk it :(

  • thanks got one in last minute

  • +3

Who marked this as expired? Still works.

    • Yes im not sure who did. It's still working

  • +2

Should note that Amazon promo cred negates any cashback.

  • i got one but how do i view the credit?

Does it take 3 days even with email delivery?

    • They'll email you once the $5 promo cred has been applied. Might take a couple of days.

  • The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase.

    • Getting this too on the app. Will try PC later.

  • +2

Just use the promo on S&S

    • Exactly.

    • Did you receive the $5 credit already? I am worried it might show up tomorrow when CR has 12% cash back and the use of he credit will void the cash back

      • +4

Even if it does you can deselect the credit on the checkout/payment details page

        • Thanks, will keep an eye out for this and deselect

      • You'll get a confirmation email if your credit applies.

        Something Similar to this:

Subject : Benefit Confirmation for your Order xxxx

Thank you for purchasing from Amazon.com.au.
Your recent order xxxx entitles you to a promotional credit which we have added to your account. This credit can be applied to your next qualifying purchase.

Thanks for purchasing at least $50 of Amazon.com.au Gift Cards. In accordance with the promotional terms, we have now automatically applied a $5 promotional credit to your account which can be used on eligible items shipped and sold by Amazon AU.

        • Damn haven’t received anything like it even though I applied the code successfully.

        • Thanks mate, will keep an eye out this email.

  • Thanks OP

  • +1

Placed an order successfully, but then got an email a few minutes later saying there was a problem processing the order & it was cancelled??? Did this happen to anyone else?
Spoke to customer service & they've said it will take someone 24-48 hours to get back to me as to why my order was cancelled…

    • +1

me too,We had a problem processing your order #‪‬. It has been canceled and the charges were not processed.

Please contact us if you have any further concerns.

    • Basically they suspect fraud.

    • More than one amazon account?

      • Nope, just the one account & only my 2nd order…

  • got it TY OP

  • Got it thanks

  • Purchased $50 gift card using Zip Pay, but didn't receive $5 rewards credit from zip pay

    • +2

Pretty sure it is 10% rewards via tap and pay only. Some users confirmed Apple Pay payments worked in the past too, but not sure if still working.

      • +1

My fault for not reading that correctly, but it did work last week when I purchased when I purchased an Amazon gift card via the Prezzee app

        • Some people did report it works with prezzee app. However this does not apply to all online or app orders.

  • +1

    Thanks OP, got one!

  • must… resist…

  • Your promotional credit can only be used for purchases of eligible items

    What items are eligible?

    • +1

Things sold and shipped by amazon au

  • got one thanks

  • Does using the gift card on the next order effect cashback?

    • -2

Yep, but you can choose not to use it / save for later

      • +4

Gift card doesn’t affect cash back.

        Promotional credit does.

  • Got one thanks OP !

  • it won't allow me to pay with Amazon gift card

    • lol

    • You may think it's common.

  • How long are the Amazon Gift Card last? Do they expires after 3 years?

    • I got some through work and they have 10 year expiry.
