Ooooh, $1537 for the G14 is very tempting,…

    • +1

      $1637 + cashback.

      • +1

        how does cashback work?

    • +3

      1650Ti is crapola tho :/

      • +3

Eh, for a thin and light laptop with great battery life it's solid enough i'd say. Especially for the money, $2000 was way too much.

        • Why not m1 Mac or surface laptop then?

          • @Wootwootwoot: I've got a Surface Laptop right now, I play games so it'd be good to have the 1650Ti plus the 120hz display is nice. Only problem is I like a touchscreen, plus the new macs do look good.

            • +1

@CEO Rachel Jake: All good. Just want to reinforce that despite the name, 1660ti mobile can be 50 - 100% faster than 1650ti in games at 1080p. The difference in performance is multi generational.

          • @Wootwootwoot: Surface laptop isn't really on par with this (CPU alone never mind the rest, again depends on intended use though), but if you comparing this for $1600 you spend the same on the surface laptop you get i5 256gb and 8gb ram… I had a surface laptop for work for a bit (gave it back after 3months) and yea its fine for some excel, power point and email but hey different strokes for different folks.

      • True if you want to play games, otherwise its plenty of horsepower for most other tasks.

      • +1

Got a 120hz screen, probs good for smashing eSports titles and the processor will eat that stuff up.

Will definitely struggle with heavier titles though you're right.

Wow, was just about to post a deal for the Razer Blade Pro at $3.3k on Catch (also sold by Wireless1). This is $900 cheaper than the deal from just 13 days ago. Seems that plenty of people may have bought that.

  • Is it worth waiting for better prices on the 15 inch Razer Blades?? I don't really want to wait for delayed shipping over the xmas / new year period. Otherwise what is a comparable Zephyrus model to the 15 inch Razer Blade 2060 or 2070 512gb? Not overjoyed about a 14 inch screen, but Razer are much more expensive and not many deals!

Man for 3k, this is a damn steal. 17 inch / 8 core / 2080. I paid 3k for the 15 inch advanced version with a weaker card and thought that was a good deal. If you're looking for a quality laptop, highly recommend Razer.

  • Damn if only it was the UHD screen model I would pick one up. 2080 Max q is tempting though…

If only UHD and touch screen… SOLD!

GREAT POST NONE THE LESS OP

  • I wonder if the price drops for these laptops means new mobile GPUs coming soon

    • They are; CES 2021 in early Jan.

      General availiblility: god knows when

  • Is it safe to buy from this company and any idea when it will be received. Its for a birthday present early January.

    • +2

Bought from wireless1 many times, but usually on their ebay store. Shipping was relatively prompt too from memory. May want to call them and ask about shipping time though.

    • No Aus warranty.

      • Amazon warranty has been amazing for me, sent a few things back to amazon usa

        • On multi-thousand dollar tech items?

From what I can see Amazon only offer a 1 month window for returns/exchange. Anything thereafter and presumably it comes down to manufacturer warranty.

          • @crungle: i've sent back a projector that was 3months old and cost just under $2k iirc, was replaced and got a new one delivered within a week of them getting the returned item.

    • Do you know if this would come with a US power adapter? If so would I need to purchase an Australian equivalent asus adapter? Thanks

  • Tempting…$2999 Razer Blade Pro 17 2080 Super

People actually game on a laptop? Why?

    • Portability would be the main factor. Can take it to and from where ever you need it.
Whilst laptops aren't as good as desktops (apples to apples) they can be pretty good if you have the use case for it and you want/need something portable and dual purpose.

    • +2

Don't like sitting at the desk.

    • Because mcdonalds kicked ne out when i took my tower and monitor in and used there wifi all day

  • Portable gaming on the switch is good!
Laptop would be for games like Starcraft, LOL.

  • Would anyone be able to comment on how a gaming machine, like the Razer Blade Pro, would run Adobe CC apps such as Lightroom, Photoshop or Premiere Pro? Asking for a friend who’s a professional photographer

    • Apple M1

    • i also want to know this (without Apple ever possibly being on the radar - just no way for every other reason other than Adobe)

    • Performance wise - G15 or MSI.
F15 has only 8GB of ram and a slower GPU.

      • Thank you.

  • Hey, anyone know what the shipping/processing times are like? I ordered a week ago and I haven't got an item dispatched email at all.

    • My order was stuck in "Awaiting payment" status since Boxing day. Today I opened a support ticket and received shipping confirmation within an hour.
