  I also got this last week at JB for the same price. spend $20 on extra 4gb ram and for $700 you got a very decent all round laptop.

    Excellent Laptop. Liked it over my previous XPS 15" with nvidea. This one plays games smoothly and also hooks up with my TV with no problems at all.

    You can buy RAM from anywhere, but I recommend to get additional 2 years warranty from JB too.
    Got mine too from JB few weeks back for 749 with 2 yaears additional warranty and $25 Kingston RAM.

    For other stores, I think you can ask them for this price. Most of the stores dont have stock left, as it is a discontinued item.

  Their excuse are usually, it needs to be original receipt, but mostly says we just don't pricematch it, end of story….

    painful thing is it really depends on the person you speak too…
    Myself I usually buy lots of things off the one person and they remember you when you bought a plasma or blu ray player last time etc.

    But otherwise it depends on who serves you…don't go during busy times maybe?

    You can push it a little if you are not happy but if rejection hurts your ego or you mgiht be a little embarrassed by it then I don't know what can be done… :(

    I think its common excuse of every store is that they dont price match based on the receipts. Its mainly due to fake receipts and also the condition of the item. Getting a display item or damaged carton item has the same invoice.

      The other thing is getting an item during a 15% sale has the same receipt as not a 15% sale. Usually these 15% sales are well below cost.

      The other thing is sometimes a competitor will have a ridiculous one time only one item sale (and usually run out of stock straight away) where JB will match it during that period.

      Any of these could be factors and the invoice has none of this information on it.

  Retarded screen resolution, 15.6" at 1366 x 768?! Which moron from HP came up with specs like this?

    Most of the home user laptops comes with this resolution, unless u are after full HD. You cannot get a Full HD near this price.
    You cannot play most of the games at Full HD resolution and doing day to day routine work is painful too. (If you are not a designer)
    1600*800 is a much better resolution I suppose.

    Secondly, if you care for resolution, get a full HD monitor or bind the laptop to ur Full HD Tv.
