Spend a little more and get the Xiaomi 2H for $129 from Kogan. Has a higher CADR and smart controlled.

Probably also a better supply of replacement filters

Right - its easy to imagine this machine being orphaned with no available filters in short time

i bought some last year, and drilled holes so i can replace the carbon myself - way cheaper and dont need to worry about it 5 years down the track

          • @Franc-T: Can you elaborate? I'm probably going to get one now that the price has dropped to $79.

@Kikkoman56: Not this brand, but if you open the case of mine and look inside there is a screen with little carbon (black) granules in it.

They need to be periodically replaced.

Drilled holes so i can take them out and then just seal them back up. Ordered raw carbon (not from this store, but similar):

              • @Franc-T: Thanks a ton, makes a lot more sense since I initially thought the carbon was integral with the hepa filter somehow..

    • How often you need to change the filter and how much are the xiaomi filters?

      • +1

No more frequently than once in 12 months in Australia. Probably fine for 2 years with a vacuum in between. Filters as cheap as $35 from Kogan for genuine Xiaomi. Cheaper for aftermarket

    • Link please

    • The 2H seems like a good model for the price (without knowing anything much about them)
Would it work if you leave the apartment windows open? The prick next door smokes and comes in at times, could leave curtains closed in the bedroom at night imagine may help a bit with that and other air particles?
How close do you set it up to where you sleep?
      Thanks,

  • Medium is $49 down from $69. Supposedly noisy and no new filters sold. Could get them elsewhere of course.

    • filter for medium is now available in target
