$30 for 3 games that are less than 5 years old cumulatively.

      • +1

Well worth it for AoE fans

        • +2

          These aren't the originals

        • +2

Age of Empires 1 is not Age of Empires 1: Definitive Edition.

        • He's right though

        • +5

Its not one game, it's 3…. and they have been remastered for up to 4k resolutions.

        • +2

          Please. Stop. Posting.

        • +3

          Because I bought it.

        • +1

Do some research. They added new animations, graphics and reworked the engine.

    • -4

Man people on this website really can't think for themselves. Look how they've piled on negging you for just giving your opinion

      • +6

Not for just giving his opinion, but for giving a stupid one. If you don't want the game, why post a useless comment? Obviously going to get negged if you have nothing critical or anything of any use to say, at least be constructive.

        • -3

plenty of people give their negative opinions on deals. as long as the hivemind agrees, they dont get negs. it makes ozbargain another echo chamber like certain other forum based websites

          • +4

@belongsinforums: Again, opinions are fine as long as they aren't stupid. Not all opinions are equally valuable. Just saying you don't want to buy the posted item does not contribute in any way at all, don't be surprised if such a comment is downvoted.

            • -1

@s1Lence: that part is arguable. it is a fairly big price for old games tho and i think that criticism is valid, remastered or not

              • +1

@belongsinforums: Big price for old games is a valid reason for a neg, let alone a dissenting comment. Baldur and Belongsinforums have valid points that shouldn’t be negged because you disagree with them. It makes us as bad as some other large forum previously alluded to.

      • Man idiots can’t admit when they’re wrong. Look at how no one cares what you or your buddy think.

        • It is a travesty they require 30 dollars for a game that was made in the middle 90's. They should be giving this away for free.

This is not a fair price. Not to mention you can play this on game pass for only 1 dollar.

You dont have a proper argument against mine.

          • @baldur: You were making an argument? I thought you were just trolling.

            • +1

@smartazz104: My argument is so simple to fathom.

This is a way too old game hence the price shouldn't be this high. Kapisch?

              • -1

@baldur: You said they should give them away for free. If you can’t see how stupid that sounds, we’ll then you are lost. Also, 2020 - 1997 is not 35.

                • @smartazz104: Free or for a much lower price. It doesn't conflict with my point.

                  • +1

@baldur: These are NOT the original games, these are recently released remasters they made to market Age of Empires IV, they change quite a lot, you know this from other comments, stop being wilfully ignorant.

            • @smartazz104: You were making a contributing comment?! I thought you were just drooling over the edge of your wheelchair.

          • +3

            @baldur:

It is a travesty they require 30 dollars for a game that was made in the middle 90's.

It's a bundle of THREE GAMES you goddamned muppet; AoE, AoE II and AoE III and they're not the originals from 1997, 1999 and 2005, they're the remastered editions which were re-released from 2018 onwards. They look and play vastly differently compared to the original releases, with entirely new graphics, maps, units, civilisations and campaign modes.

Dope collection. $30 for AoE2 DE is worth it alone.

  • +2

When is 4 coming out, anyone know?

  • +3

Absolute bargain. AOE2 DE was worth that price alone at launch with the content it has.

    • +1

AOE2 DE alone can be had for $11.47 right now.

This IMO is a better bargain as it's the best game of the three.

AOE DE alone is only $5.61 right now.

  • +1

It won’t be definitive in a couple to weeks when a new DLC is released for Age 2.

So much down votes for a small thread. Two facts:
    - Steam still lists these games meaning they still got value. Old but classic.
    - Steam heavily discounts these games meaning demand for these games has decreased over years.

    • +3

These are recently released remastered that change quite a lot about the games, not the original 90s releases.

They are heavily discounted because every non Nintendo game follows this pricing model over time.

    • +2

AOE2 DE is in the top 100 on Steam stats for current players.

      • +1

AOE2 DE is the best out of these and I still play it. Its free in Game pass.

  • great,thanks

  • +4

    Purchased it. Thanks

Not as good as the deal where I got AOE2 free in a packet of Coco Pops about 18 years ago, lol :P
I also got a copy of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 in a cereal box, good times.

Second purchase of the series on Steam, got the HD version a couple of years ago.

    Lame game, wait for AOE4

    • Why? It's a great modernised game with a booming community. Better to play now and then 4 later.

  • +3

The AOE3 DE developer is afraid of the word colonialism, plantations renamed to 'estates' and the like.

    • AOE3 DE had interesting kind of bugs too.
      https://forums.ageofempires.com/t/game-crashed-my-pc-with-wi…

Far out that's absolutely insane. A bug that consistently deletes tens of gigabytes of personal data from User Profiles after a game crash, and the devs don't even want to acknowledge it?

I knew the Remastered editions had some issues but I didn't they know they were that bad. Okay maybe Baldur was right, $30 dollars for this steaming turd pile in the state it's in now is far too much.

      • They 'have put in additional safeguards',

        • that's insane.
does the issue only trigger with multiplayer?
seems really risky to play now then. is 1 and 2 free of this bug?

    • Ah I wish I know this b4 purchase it …

      • can try getting a refund from steam if game hasn't been run for >2 hours

        • I bought it last deal. It says I played ( AoE III ) 25hrs and majority of it was AFK … coz I have to take care of my children.

I do enjoy AoE II though … oh well

          • @frewer: sounds like future me.
so no crashing so far in single player mode?

            • @Grale: I couldnt recall it, I didnt tutorial. So, I wasnt into the game mode. But I dont think so, my last played was Oct, so probably they fix it … hopefully.

        • For newer or recognizably more buggy games they can allow more than 2 hours.
I refunded one game after 10-15hours before for bugs
