    • So in other words, they had Stock of the GSII on monday this week? >.<

      • They have stock NOW. but not if you have a coupon. Get it????

  • +2

Like everyone i got a call today to confirm that i can use my code. i noticed that the phones worth getting are no longer available on the website. so i called 3 different stores and asked for the samsung galaxy s2, this was what happened:

    1. Yes there are plenty of the galaxy s2 in stock - both white and black
    2. I can come and pick it up right away, no problems at all
    3. When i mentioned the discount voucher they immediately said "sorry that discount is only available if you purchase online"

So anyone here who is defending allphones and believes that "they have no stock because of the xmas season" either works for allphones or is an absolute idiot.

    • -1

      The retail stores are franchises….

  • +1

They don't care what we say on here. Need to plaster it on their Facebook page. Of course they have plenty SGS2 in stock. It's all just BS. How can all their stores have them in stock and they don't have them in stock for online purchasing. Pure and utter BS! And you can hear the laughter in their voice when they call you to tell you that you can use your code, knowing full well that you wouldn't bother buying any of the crap and overpriced phones they have "available". Just compare some of the prices of the rubbish they do have available with Mobicity and you'll see what I mean.

  • I also got a call confirming that I can use my code and is valid, however like everyone else I don't see any phone that is really suitable.

  • +2

I just spoke to allphones head office and tried to find any way i could get hold of a SGS2 and use my discount code, here are the replies to my questions:

    1. They do not have any SGS2 or other popular models in stock
    2. Their stock department which is responsible for purchasing and stocking of phones does not know when these phones will be available
    3. They cannot take any pre-orders on any phones that are out of stock
    4. They cannot give any assurances that the phones will be available prior to 29 Feb 2012 (final day that we can use our discount voucher)
    5. The only definite answer i got was "that phone is out of stock" and EVERY other question was answered with "i don't know"

It appears Allphones delayed the validation of the discount code so as to remove all the popular phones for sale from their website and then once this was done they allowed the codes to be valid. Thus they minimised their exposure of being sued. All their staff have been told to say the phones are out of stock and answer "i don't know" to any other questions.

    • Dam ! Thats really stupid. I guess im glad I never bought from them before :D I will prob keep pestering their FB wall every now and again to try my luck.. Otherwise I will see what happens :\

    • You need to ask to buy a particular phone and >> N O T << mention the discount coupon. Stock magically appears.

Don't mention the discount code or hint that you have one.

Stocks should be in early March… suppliers have been very busy over christmas.. LOL

Well good on you for calling.

Thats it right there folks. Proof positive that they have slimed out of this deal.
How to solve the problem of the vouchers:
Make a big play about carefully going through the details and re-issuing the "valid" vouchers then remove all the decent phones/Stop the outrage about the mishandled voucher "deal" without losing a penny.

We have been played for a waste of time.

Heres what was originally offered from page 1-

      BlackBerry Torch 9800 - $699
      BlackBerry Bold 9700 - $659
      LG Optimus 3D - $659
      Motorola RAZR - $629
      HTC Rhyme - $499
      Nokia N9 - $609
      Samsung Galaxy SII White/Black - $575
      Nokia X7 - $429
      Samsung Galaxy S - $385
      Sony Xperia Arc - $389
      LG Optimus Black - $359

      Tossers.

    • I wonder if this is a dodgy practice

  • Can someone copy and paste my comments on to allphones' FB wall for others to see? I don't use FB.

    • Sign up, it is 100% free.

  • I emailed them but no reply since december, whats the best option now? call them up? or email again?

    • whats the best option now?

      …… read the above posts.

  • I can't wait any longer for the S2 so am just about to order the nexus. Well played, allphones. But you didn't to drag me along for a month..

  • I got mine activated but i wanted galaxy S2 and they havent got it on the site as outright :( is there a way to get it outright from them?

    • +1

Start a tape recorder & ring them up and say you wan't to order a galaxy s2 outright but you can't see it online, when they confirm they have stock go through with the order and finally mention your code, when they change their tune ask them if they're recording this converation as you want to use it as evidence for (insert ACCC, Consumer Protection etc), if they go to hang up on you or say it's not recorded tell them you have recorded the conversation & you wish to speak to a supervisor.

      • hahaha great idea!

      • Could any1 with some spare time be kind enough to do this? =p

        • We are all very busy, could you do it?

        • yes same unfortunately, i guess every1 is busy as well.

      • +1

Just a tip. you have to ask for permission to record someone. if you don't it'll backfire on you :)

        • +1

except if you're a cop with a wire?

        • +1

Their trick will be to tell you that all the ****"promotional"**** stock has been sold when you mention the code.
There is nothing that can force them to sell you a phone below their purchase price which is what happens with a lot of the phones listed.

The big crunch is in the T&C of the offer here…
          http://www.allamazingdeals.com/terms/

… in that they mention many times that they reserve the right to remove the offer at any time.. it looks like they have removed the offer to me. I doubt that you will see reasonably priced stock added to their site before March 2011.

Fair enough, they have the right to remove the offer but lying to people about possible stock arrivals rather than apologising and telling people they have ended the offer is insulting to all.

Forget it, …you got an email with a coupon number… you won't get anything else.

  • Seeing as they don't seem likely to have the S2 for sale before the voucher will expire, I've gone ahead and purchased the Galaxy Nexus.

Disappointed not to be able to purchase the S2, but can't complain with the Galaxy Nexus for $531.77 (less GST using the TRS)

    • good on you mate! still got a deal!

is the camera better or worse than the S2?

      • I just ordered it today, was told I should receive it tomorrow via courier.

My preference was to get an S2, and was tempted to just buy one outright and claim GST back on it. But the ozbargainer in me needed to use the voucher, especially after all the waiting for allphones to validate my code.

I've done a bit of research between the S2 and Nexus camera and the S2 camera does seem to take the better photos seeing its 8MP. That's not to say that the Nexus camera is bad, it takes quality photos as well. Plus the zero shutter lag is a big plus in the Nexus' favour.

Overall I'm happy with the purchase and looking forward to playing around with it as it'll be my first Android phone.

        • ah cool! let me know how it goes.

let us know when u actually receive your phone too!

        • +2

Phone was delivered by courier today. Missus signed for it at around 1pm.

You can definitely see the difference in size, but it doesn't feel too much bigger or awkward in the hand as you might think it would.

Photos are on par with the iPhone4 at least, but will give the camera a workout later on.

  • Hi, for those who ordered from allphones. How long did it take you to receive your phone? I ordered a Huawei Vision last friday and still haven't heard from them yet. Only got the automatic confirmation email.

    • This is why we have to wait longer for our codes to be validated because some people try to fraud the system and we end up paying for it. Why would you buy a phone under $300? Did you read the terms and conditions? Stop screwing things up for rest of us. Phone must be $300 or above.

      • correction.. RRP of the phone must be $300 or more, not their sale price.
There wont be anything of value until mar 2012 anyway.

        • Where did you see RRP on this? Allphones are the only distributor in Oz and I didn't see any price over $300 on the Huawei or allphones site?

I hope you are correct, it would be a good phone for under a $100.

        • rrp… i take that "they" (allphones) will assume the rrp to be allphones price before their discounted price shown.

    • +1

If you ordered the Huawei Vision with the voucher, your order will be cancelled, even if you got a confirmation email.

  • Got my code verification call today. Yay.

  • I have one valid code, seeing models on site, I am damn sure I am not gonna use it.. any takers for my code? message me.

    Thanks

    • Hi I can't message you ????

    • I am sure there was a clause in the T&C that said you cannot transfer the code to another person.

      • lol they thought of everything :\

  • what a crock of shit

Can't remeber when is the last time ozbargain has such a offer that has got so much attention after a month the offer expire.

I too got piss off with the lack of phone choice after the vouvher is confirm. But it seem that there is very little that we can do to force allphones to put popular phones back on the outright phone section.

For those who are thinking of using the $200 discount, the phone are all over priced on their outright section. I check all prices on staticice and many are cheaper with other importer even after the $200 discount. Only one that is worth considering is HTC Rhyme, with the discount code it represent a $125 discount when compare to the cheapest price on staticice. Allphones will say "well ours are all Australia stock and come with Australian warranty". Well if you google around, you will find out their warranty service is not much better that other grey importer.

I wonder what were they thinking when they first put the deal out. Did they make a mistake of the discount? May be it was suppose to be $20 not $200. Or is it the old say any publication is good publication and they put this out knowing that it will back fire just to create attention.

having said what that, It is very difficult for a businees to sell you something at lost. It is ok for us to hunt for bargain but business are doing tought these days. I do not know how many valid codes is out there but lets assume 1000 and with all the popular phones they will lose $100 with the coupon. That is $100,000 net lost not to mention the lost in resources in processing these money losing orders. It would be simple better for them to come out and say "sorry guys the offer is stuffed up but instead we can at least offer you guys xxx amount of discount, we are sorry but that is the best we can do" Instead allphones simply decided to stay quiet and pull off all popular phone on the outright section. Why does business so unwilling to admitt their mistakes??

On the other hand I think user are at fault here too. I really like bargain hunting too, but I just think the way how some whirpool forum and ozbargain user take advantage pricing mistakes are simple disgusting. It usually goes like this:

Someone spot a urealistic cheap deal, then spread it on WP forum or ozbargain. Then the merchant's web site got boomed with order to the point that the website go down. Usually that is the point the merchant realised they has make a pricing mistake but many orders has gone through already. Then all this ACCC and Fairtrading threat will come out after the merchant came out and claim they can not fullfill those money losing orders.

Wouldn't it simply more thoughtful for the first person who spotted the deal to give the merchant a call to confirm the price before they spread that across ozbargain and WP forum?

    • The Australian warranty is more the manufacturer warranty we are discussing rather than the allphones warranty service. Samsung for example, won't honour the warranty in Australia for a grey import. However, if you chose to take a locally purchased Samsung phone to the Samsung service centre yourself, you'd be likely to get very quick service (I haven't actually done that with my Samsung, but have a friend who did so).

Allphones is pathetic, all handsets outright have either been pulled or increased in price, nothing but rubbish phones available now (expect the nexus).
Never again for me or my business.

Still waiting for the Samsung Galaxy II to be put back!!! It seems they have stock, as you can buy these… they are just not listing it…. so dodgy~!

    • tried to go purchase and had this message on the site - All Amazing Deals promotion is no longer available

      • +1

        Really?
Which phone did you try to buy?

They made a big point about it being available until the end of February…. (then removed all the good deals)
