      • Yep, ok I see what you mean. Say's BackOrdered.

  • My order was confirmed at 5:09pm and the processing email I got at 5:11pm. I was rushing to order it so I didnt log in. Oopsie

    • +2

I did the exact same, PayPal checkout was too fast but now can't log in for updates.

      • fingers crossed for the both of us

  • 5.57pm received confirmation email.
7.26pm received Your order is being processed.
Now login to my account and can see "BackOrdered" like everyone else.
Will wait and see what happens next.

  • 5:18 order and 5:45 processing emails for me

  • Highly doubt there is stock. Most likely an error and I’d assume everyone who managed to place an order will most likely be getting a call in the next few days about refunds.

  • -7

Why would people think that this pre order would get them a ps5 faster? No one in Australia has stock. TGG aren't magically going to get stock before anyone else. So anyone who pre-ordered at this time isn't gonna get the console anytime soon. Just be patient and wait for when retailers actually announce that more are coming.

    • +8

Yeah why would anyone think a retailer putting something up for sale would actually sell it to you?

      • -3

Maybe if you are delusional. This isn't a normal instance is it? If Australia got stock it wouldn't just be tgg.

        • +1

Who knows? Don't forget TGG is owned by JB. Stranger things have happened, but at the moment the retailer is the one who says it's in stock, but I guess everyone should trust randoms on internet forums.

    • +1

I hope people revoke their negs on you now that the refunds are coming in.

      This was dumb hope.

      • lol wishful thinking

  • TGG have a magical stocking with PS5s….

what a great way to get every1 to pay up-front for a March delivery.

    briliant move!

any1 check if TGG are financially stable during Covid19 ?

    • +1

TGG are owned by JB and are financially stable.

  • +1

Does anyone know what the free game included with this TGG ps5 order is?

    • +2

      None!

      • Is that backwards compatible?

  • -1

PS5 is that hot ticket! Going going gone…
Great console BTW! Looks-wise its ok? Abit to big IMO. But stands out for sure… Series X looks better in my eyes.
2021 is going to be a great year for me and my PS5 and Series X exclusives.
Rachet and Clank and Halo Infinite are my 2 most hyped games coming. Plus many more :)

  • +5

I'm an rtx 3080 owner and Cyber punk is boring as shit. I had it on release, clocked around 5 hours ( Non-buggy) and realised how lifeless and boring it is.
Can't get a new console? My advice is buy / boot up Wither 3 GOTY edition on a previous gen. That game was beyond amazing.

    • Meh, it was good for the time, but CDPJ have since soured me on their body of work. There's better games out there.

    • +3

I have a pretty short attention span but even I found cp2077 engaging enough to finish. You'll find bugs if you look for them but the main story and side missions were interesting enough to get me through.

  • -1

Guys, I’m loving the desperation here, really getting me going. What’s happened to mass manufacturing? Is it not up to scratch in 2020? Or are they borrowing from Apple’s technique of pretending there’s a shortage when there isn’t?

    • +4

AMD chipsets are in short supply. Same for desktop CPU/GPUs.

      • Thanks for letting me know. I’d checked out for a while, my wallet and I needed a break from bargains.

    • you can't make CPU/GPUs from home

  • Hmmm was there stock in the first place ?

    • -1

That's why it's called preorder as it's not currently in stock.

      • +5

that was not mentioned on the Good Guys page. It actually said 3-7 days delivery

    • +9

I see we have someone who missed out on one.

      • +2

Nah he is a scalper (which prob makes it worse?)

      • -3

Nah man, I actually got 5 at launch and sold them all for $1300-1500, not salt here.

  • Availability: BackOrdered

What a joke! I'm going to cancel my order.

    • +1

Everyone's says that, you'll probably find out more tomorrow.

    • +1

backorder with no ETA is a waste of time and just an interest free loan of indefinite term for them. HP sat on my $900 for 4 months for the Reverb G2. It just kept getting delayed.

Amazon is the only place I don't hate preordering at

  • -4

Why buy a ps5? The only game interests me is demons souls. I’m hoping it will be ported to pc before ps5 becomes available.

    • +2

Because not everyone has the same interests as you.

  • Just greceived the confirmation and being processed emails, wow, almost 9 hours passed

  • The Lunar New Year is very soon so I don't think there will be plenty of stocks before March.

    • Likely Scam website from Google searches.

Also posted by aussiedealhunter on new account and first comment. A bit dodgy?

    • TRADEINN RETAIL SERVICES, S.L. CIF/VAT ES-B-17527524, C/ Pirineus, 9, 17460 Celrà (Girona), Spain.

      Good luck

    • yeah preorder
"Order now and it will be delivered directly to you between Fri. 5 Mar. and Mon. 8 Mar."

      • just wondering where did you see this?

        • I was talking about the techinn site aussiedealhunter posted

Absolutely shambolic that these orders were able to go ahead. My local even saying that they won't have stock until Q2 2021.

With EB Games pre-orders for 2021 PS5 stock you'll at least be given a timeframe at the instance of order and more reliable incoming stock units.

    • +1

Where are you able to receive a time-frame for EB games 2021 pre-orders? Mine just says 31 Dec 2021.

    • +1

      That's not correct.

I pre-ordered with EB Games in Sept, the day of their pre-launch, and up until yesterday they are unable to give me an ETA.

Hence the reason I am still trying to grab one elsewhere.

      • My local has been first class regarding this. All 55 orders placed from September are all accounted for.

How much did you put down as your deposit?

I can't speak on behalf of other stores, so you might just be experiencing some bad luck.

        • They only asked for a $50 deposit, so that's what I did.

          My store in Chullora

    • +1

With EB Games pre-orders for 2021 PS5 stock you'll at least be given a timeframe at the instance of order and more reliable incoming stock units.

When I pre-ordered mine from EB for 2021 PS5 stock, the ETA was December 2021. I wouldn't call that a decent timeframe. Sony did get more PS5 units shipped and the order was fulfilled early December. While I am happy with the outcome, EB only called me on the day of the arrival and asked when I can pick it up. EB would only hold the unit for a few days (the staff didn't even realise I already fully paid for it; the staff probably though I only paid the deposit).

Would just give the retailers benefit of doubt. They do want to fulfil the orders, but it is really up to Sony.

      • -1

never commented on the decency of the timeframe, but that you do receive one.

Being a games specialty store, EB's buying team does have the power to acquire more of the inbound stock from Sony too.

        • Didn't neg you. It is not EB specific. I did call EB a couple of times before my PS5 arrived (the staff couldn't give me an ETA). Also, Microsoft fulfilled orders earlier than expected too. EB did accidentally sent out an e-mail to people that their PS5 pre-orders were brought forward and later retracted.

We do not know how this will turn out yet, and since GG is owned by JB, it is likely it's the same procurement team (or at least with JB & GG's combined buying power, they would have more bargaining power, not to mention they also sell other Sony products (i.e. TVs)).

          • @netsurfer: I can only further comment in regards to the buying power of gaming software/hardware having worked in both franchises, EB definitely has a stronger buying position than the other two combined.

It's the one advantage EB does have being a specialty retailer.

            • @ThePriceMatchGuy: EB does offer good deals for consoles (if you want convenience) and their staff are generally much nicer (or at least pretend to be) compared to JB / GG. However, there are issues with EB (generally around the price) and their "specials" which are very limited in stock. Also, EB's "brand new" games can be opened / not sealed. There was once where an EB store, clearly not quite willing to price match, sold me a sealed but cracked inside copy of a brand new game.

Thing is, even with EB's stronger buying power, you are not able to order PS5 from EB Web site right now.

    The plot thickens !

My local store (Bankstown) said don't panic, it will be shipped next Monday!

I just called them hoping for the best, but expecting the worst.

Hopefully she is right for all of our sakes

    • Fingers crossed 🤞

    • LOL that is not right…

      • Who knows…

        It was worth a shot

  • +1

I just got a phone call from my local GG store saying they have confirmed my preorder and as soon as they get it, they will ship it to me.
I asked when should I expect to receive it, to which I got the reply “I have no idea, sorry”.

  • +4

No luck. Just got a call from my local TGG store this morning. They have to cancel my order as there is no stock at all.

    • this. ^

anyone expecting to get their consoles before Q1 2021 are kidding themselves.

    • Which GG is this if you don’t mind me asking?

      • TGG Dandenong VIC

        • Have they cancelled your order or are they saying they will?

          • @GallBall2606: They will and will send me the cancel confirmation email. However, until now, I have not received any email from them yet.

  • +1

Called my local TGG store (Alexandria NSW) and they told me it was a mistake from HQ, and that I would receive a call from then in the next 24-48 hours.

I still find it hard to believe that they messed up all 3 consoles (X, S and PS5) on the same day so I’m optimistic that the stores actually have no clue and that they will be receiving stock soon from HQ.

    • +2

Not sure whether it is wise to call the local store as TGG online is a different store. TGG online will despatch pre-order units to local stores for final fulfilment. Even though the local store can initiate cancellation of online order, it will still be the online team processing the final cancellation.

If I am being cynical, I reckon local TGG stores would "prefer" to cancel orders, rather than being bombarded with requests of: "is it there yet?", "when?" constantly. Also, the revenue of the orders will be counted towards online store I reckon (rather than your local store) - so the cancellation won't hurt that local store's bottom line.

It really depends on whether you are willing to wait for the pre-order or you are expecting the pre-order to fulfil within days (otherwise you don't want to pre-order). It's relative. I basically waited 2+ months for my EB pre-order to be fulfilled (and it was meant to be 4+ months wait). EB also enticed me with trade-in deals so technically, the console was all paid for 1 month before it is in my hand (and if Sony didn't manage to ship more units earlier than expected, I was looking at minimum 3 more months). However, I was prepared for 3 months without a console.

    Your Order Status

The Good Guys are working through a huge volume of online orders that were placed (yesterday) on Jan 6. It appears that some customers have placed multiple orders for the same product. In fairness to all our customer only one PS5/Xbox can be sent to an individual name and address. We will advise of the status of your order based on stock availability after we have removed duplicate orders from our system. Duplicate orders will be fully refunded in accordance with our standard online returns policy.

We appreciate your patience and understand you may have questions. Rest assured we will contact you shortly with more information regarding the status of your order via email.

  • Just wait and see what happen

  • +2

    Huh, I didn't get a cancellation email/call like others.

    "Your Order Status

    So that sounds somewhat promising.

    • +1

No call here either and the exact same email.

      • Yeah I got it.

      • Same

    • How do you interpret "only one PS5/Xbox can be sent to an individual name and address"?

I have two kids, and my wife and I purchased one each.

Are they individual orders, or the same because of the same address ?

      • +1

Yeah unfortunately it's pretty ambiguous isn't it.

The cynic in me thinks that you might be one of the flagged people if they cross reference delivery/billing addresses =(

      • It depends on how many TGG oversold. They will probably filter out people placing multiple orders with the same name + address first.

Your situation goes both ways. If there were people ahead of you, in the same boat, are you okay for those getting multiple units, even if that meant yours would be delayed?

This is essentially damage control. TGG basically want as many people to get theirs as possible, and avoid some groups of people with multiple.

That said, the way it is worded, your orders are not duplicates based on that definition. The reason name and address combined is checked is because some names might be too common. They did not mention 1 per household.

  • +2

So it looks like they have stock coming, and cancelling orders from people who ordered more than 1!

    • Nah it’s probably badly worded. They’ll cancel the preorders who had multiple orders but the ones that stay are still probably receiving it in March-ish

    f u scalpers

Kinda glad I ordered from them now

    • +3

Scalpers are the absolute scum of the Earth. I'm a hardcore minarch-capitalist but I have no qualms with sending scalpers to jail for 6 months to reflect on their crimes against consumers.

      • +1

yeah we need more regulations on scalpers

    • +1

Scalpers know to use separate names/emails/addresses to get around this problem.

      • And using server PCs with multiple proxies. It happens in hype sneaker releases

  • Got the same message about duplicates.

I only ordered one so Hopefully it gets delivered soon!

  • +15

    Latest Update:

On the phone a few minutes ago, GG Head Office say they were allocated stock, but took too many orders.

They have had orders of 4 or 5 consoles from individuals (probably scalpers) and are sifting through the orders, weeding out duplicates.

Every person who ordered will receive an email by the end of the day, with an update on their order.

    • Does that mean for the people who ordered more than 1 (lets say 3), they will be getting 1 instead of 3? Or they won’t be getting any at all? Just a curious question, I only ordered 1 for myself in case anyone thinks I’m scalping

      • +2

If they used the same name and address to order multiple, they will be flagged. The way it is worded: duplicates will be removed, it means the first one will not be removed.

Sh3nanigans ordered two with different names (his name and his wife's: two PS5s: one for each children of his). Based on the definition, those two are not duplicates. TGG has not yet enforced 1 per household yet (at least not officially).

P.S. I did not order any (no need to) and I hope as many people get theirs soon.

        • Got to give it to TGG, hopefully this works pushing scalpers away.

        • Exactly, they will only remove the one's with same name and address.

      • +1

It appears that some customers have placed multiple orders for the same product. In fairness to all our customer only one PS5/Xbox can be sent to an individual name and address.

So they will receive one and only one.

        • +1

Those that made multiple orders should have all of them cancelled.

          • +1

@xuqi: very agree, someone even tried to sell their 2nd hand (opened) PS5 and ask for over 1k lol
