I didn't call up but I think it is fair enough to be a bit stressed due to previous listings (like The Good Guys debacle) being cancelled. Especially when you let other, more reliable retailers go like Amazon which did not advertise stock until Big W deal was over.
It’s completely fair what you say here. I’ve seen folks order after me from the same state and have theirs on the way. Mine still stuck in “picking” for 36 hours.
Not only that, I’ve seen a few folks order from both Big W and JB, with the Big W order due early next week for them.
I’m not saying mine will be cancelled, but that 1% chance hovers over and is doubly frustrating with Big Ws strange prioritisation of orders.
always go amazon, they are the best with delivery and ordering. Just two clicks and you can place your order. Plus, they dont charge you until it ships and its easy to cancel an order if needed
I’ve never gotten in fast enough with them unfortunately. Managed to get in here but the entire setup is a mess. I shouldn’t be punished for finally making it through.
@ichigodan: yea I know but just saying, in the future, have an amazon account set up and download the app. its literally just two clicks to place an order. And they are so much more reliable than Big W, Good guys, Harvey Norman, EB games and Target…. If you placed an order, its guaranteed to ship and will arrive by the estimated delivery date they give you. If the order arrives too late or places you in the next batch, they even do 20% refunds (not sure if thats still going on but I remember someone said it in a thread last year)
Would have if it wasn't always sold out in like 2 mins there. Unfortunately I cannot just keep refreshing the page all day.

Yes, got mine about a week or so ago. I requested it as soon as they were offered, took about six weeks, maybe more.
Same story here, still on "being fulfilled". Though my order got in at 9:07am, QLD. They got charging docks back in and I bought a charging dock today and it's already been shipped. Looks like I'm going to have a joy having a charging dock next to my TV first.

As I ordered PS5 from Amazon also, Amazon shipped the console out on Friday. Called Big W on Saturday to cancel the order and was told order had progressed to warehouse. They would shipping it out soon so order cannot be cancelled. Checking status of order, it is the same from Friday "Being Fulfilled". Hard to understand how Big W works.
Why do you need two consoles?
I ordered two, too. One from big w which I highly doubted that I will get it as there is a error message during checkout "Error, message not found"(purchased at 9.07). So I placed another order at 9.14 when Amazon released it which I already set it up in my room. I tried to cancel the order from Big W after received my PS5, but got the same response.

Because Big W has not been reliable in the past. Also, many orders from retailers (JB, Harvey) have been cancelled when they realize it has been over ordered.
In any case, I tried cancelling so that someone else could get the console.

Mine finally changed from be being fulfilled. Look likes it's finally happening. I dont mind if it takes a couple of days from now to receive cause I'll have to pick it up from the post office as Australia post NEVER deliver packages directly to my adress.
They said I should receive tracking and if it hasn't arrived by Friday to call back.
My order got canceled, just received cancellation email. But was able to secure Amazon order and got delivered next day.

Purchased mine at 9.02am and this morning received aus post tracking number but it says 3 business days ETA. Still sitting on It’s Being Prepared. Don’t think I’ll get it today or tomorrow due to Australia Day. Dammit.. surprising others in Melbourne are getting it today already. Wish it was me as I’m on leave till Thursday haha!

I'm an 8.50 order I beat you all and still being fullfilled. A previous post says they called and if it's awaiting picking/being fulfilled, then the stock exists. Mine got delayed as I was picked up by woolies fraud as I used a diff email to my Dan Murphys account.
Still being fulfilled - I ordered NSW time at 8;57am. My post code was lower north shore - I wonder if it has anything to do with local stores and orders for that store around who got sent there’s first? I think my closest store would have been ryde which would probably cover most of the north and east given how few big w stores we have?
