Cheers for the shoutout and to your first post!

    JB Hi-Fi: You're late.
Amazon: A sale is never late, JB. Nor is it early; it arrives precisely when it means to.

      What about second sale?

      • +3

        Elevenses!

I dont think Gerry Harvey knows about second sale Pippin.

    • It's wonderful to see you Amazon parcel!

FYI - You'll need to set aside 11.2 hours if you plan to have a movie marathon and watch them one after the other.

Edit: Actually it's more as this is the 'Extended & theatrical' edition. Also isn't it only the Blu-ray version that's $69.30 and the 4K version is $129.50 + delivery???

    • +2

This. The pic is wrong. It's not the 4k.

      • It's the 4K version. They've just tagged it wrong.

      • Looks like the pic is right when viewing on a desktop, but wrong on mobile

Thanks OP. Got this and the hobbit trilogy!

Obligatory reminder that these blu-rays do not include a lot of the extra bonus material. A 4K boxset is coming out later this year that will include all features. Only get this version if 1) you can't wait (and I don't blame you) or 2) you don't care about all the extras and purely want the movie itself.

    • +7

Or (3), you have the extras on the original blu-rays.

      • Yeah, I wonder if the bonus content will be in 4k too, I’m guessing not

      • +5

        (4) you have the extras on the original extended special edition DVD's released 15+ years ago.

        • +4

I will cherish my copy of these for ever!
Hands down the best packaged/presented movies ever made, on any media!

    • What are the extra bonus materials?

    No Tom Bombadil, no deal.

  • Finished watching this last week. First time since seeing in theatres.

Well worth it. Wife hung in for the first one, watched a disc per night.

On a 4K OLED the remaster does show up the cgi / miniatures, but still the story and characters are amazing and you have to remember the age of the effects.

The vibrancy of the colours was amazing

So old school having the change discs!

I once watched a group of guys destroy a ring too. Sasha Grey was great in it.

Bugger, I jumped on the JB sale a few hours ago cause didn’t think Amazon would price match and was worried JB would sell out, so now have to drive 45 mins to collect from JB tomorrow. Oh well, least I got my copy and supported an Aussie business in the process.

Haha got to love that passive aggressive guilt trip!

      :p
