  • thats for the credit, great deal, i just copped it

  • I bought the blue masks four months ago along with a pair of shoes delivered separately, the masks still have not been delivered yet. Contacted customer support via email and FB messenger to get an ETA and after multiple attempts, they finally said they'll give me a refund, which they still haven't.

I would rather deal with Kogan ( which I won't ) than Adidas , I wonder why Adidas have not been banded from OzBargain as they do not honor what they sell.

I was just thinking the same thing. Adidas can EAD as far as I'm concerned.

I bought a pair of shoes - with plenty of units left in my size at the time of ordering. To get over the free shipping threshold I threw in a pair of socks.

Guess what, the shoes were cancelled (OOS?!) and all I got was socks 🙄

        • At least they didnt charge you delivery. Haha (imagine if they did).

          • @[Deactivated]: Haha! yeah, I thought about that 😅. I believe that in a lot of cases their shipping time is way out of line too.

        • Exactly same thing happ to me - shoes were in stock when ordered

"This cover is not a medically graded mask nor a Personal Protective Equipment but can help prevent the spread of viruses and germs through droplet transmission."

I prefer the Uniqlo ones without the logo on the side. Like the Adidas they also don't filter viruses. 3 for $19.90: https://www.uniqlo.com/au/en/products/E437784-000?colorCode=….

It s about wearing them, and storing them, properly. The science is in on the masks. If you look around Victoria it isn’t just lefties.Funnily enough NSW got onboard with the masks, and other things, and they are knocking this down a lot quicker than the Crossroads outbreak. Follow the Science, not the ignorance.

        • -4

          Show me the science please

          • -1

@splitatom: the science is a hoax just like the virus

          • @splitatom: Why i got negged for asking for the science?

I'd say a clean hygiene schedule with regular washing of hands is much more effective than covering up your face. In saying that I'm not claiming it to be backed by 'science'
Thing is, people are always adjusting heir masks with their hands then putting their hands everywhere. Kind of defeats the purpose

            • +3

@splitatom: Masks demonstrably reduce the spread of airborne droplets/aerosols which in turn reduces the the spread of the virus. The science is there, even with cool videos to show how it does it.

Theres a saying about climate change: "we dont need a handful of people doing sustainability perfectly. we need everyone doing sustainability imperfectly.

it applies to hygiene too. we dont need 'the lefties' (to use your incredibly inaccurate term) doing perfect hygiene, we need everyone doing it imperfectly.

a face covering of any kind is better than none at all and you dont need a medical grade mask for anything other than working in a healthcare facility.

              • +1

@Laserface: It is funny how Science, and logic, so often “skew left” isn’t it?

    • Are there any stores that have masks or is it online ordering?

      • For anyone who is interested the Uniqlo Store at Docklands, Melbourne has masks.

  • I'm probably gonna get negged or crap for pointing this out, but I don't understand how this gets more up votes in comparison with the Under Armour mask (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/595338) as they are both more form over function that have no protection like N95 masks. Especially with what it points out (also pointed out by eciuj) "This cover is not a medically graded mask nor a Personal Protective Equipment but can help prevent the spread of viruses and germs through droplet transmission."

Isn't the UA a single mask as opposed to a 3-pack sold here?

      • Yes, that is literally it. 3 v 1 for the same price and same lack of rating.

    • +4

I believe that these are never intended to provide the same level of protection of N95 masks. However, it is also important to note that just having a mask on would significantly reduce the chance of transmission even if it is not as protective as N95 masks. Don't forget that even surgical masks are not N95.

However, unless you are working in close contact with people who might be infected, using a N95 mask on a regular basis (e.g. going to a shopping mall) is likely an overkill.

That said, it is just as important to disinfect the mask after use as you don't throw these away after each use like a surgical mask.

  • +2

Misleading in the current climate to advertise a mask not rated to protect against covid or reduce spreading.
This is more of a fashion statement, placebo effect.

      • Why? The product description clearly states that these are not medically rated?

I have no issues with buying / wearing masks but this product is just useless.

        • The product description clearly states that these are not medically rated?

          Then how is it misleading?

but this product is just useless.

It's not. Looks like it works fine to let you in places where masks are required.

        • Could be.

Problem is, most people wear dirty masks. In other words they're useless and promote the spread of other disease.

People in Victoria who are still wearing them where it isn't necessary are more than likely the 'I Stand With Dan' crew. Typically young progressives who haven't learnt about life yet.

March 16th, Dan's special powers end. Goodbye masks.

You should look up the video Gavin from Slow Mo Guys did on the effect just a simple mask had on reducing the amount of airborne droplets spread when someone was wearing a mask.

These were $12-$13 not long ago. Looks like a price increase.

    • No. When it was $12-13, you have to pay for the postage $8.50 .

      • +1

True, but they stocked them in store too.
So they increased the price to cover delivery?

  • +4

I have nothing against branded clothing but I draw the line at wearing a brand logo on my face.

    • +1

      Hope you don't wear glasses.

      • -2

        Why ?

    • -1

soon you will have a barcode on your face. I'd rather a logo

  • ITM slaves

  • I used some surgical masks (not N95) recently for mixing cement… I could taste the lime and concrete… probably better than nothing but really just a fashion accessory and prevent you from spitting the lime/cement out. Those thick paper dust masks work better.

  • $20 Delivered? Does that mean it should be $20 + free shipping at checkout with EDGE20? Still gotta pay shipping damn

  • Seems to be $25 + $8.50 delivery less $5 discount using the code EDGE20 when I had a look.
