Can you price match as well as use the $700 Telstra credit? Has anyone done this before?

    • good question, & I could be wrong, but definitely worth a try if you see it significantly cheaper elsewhere

I believe the S21 is $50 cheaper at The Good Guys on the same plan?

    S21 is $1249 at JB - $700 = $549 vs $499 at The Good Guys.

    What's up with the maths?

    1328+99×12 is not 1587

Or is it the description that's off?

    • 99x12+399=1587

      • +1

Yeah but then how is 1328 relevant at all?

first lot of prices are for the $69 plan promo, 2nd lot of prices are for the $99 plan promo

  • What will be etc math for s21 ultra?

$1149 after the $700 discount (or $1099 if you do the same deal at The Good Guys).

      • That's just the upfront cost of phone. ETC on the $69pm plan is $414 if cancelled on day 1.

Still happy with preorder offer in Education store. $1621 512Gb version with Trio wireless charger (included 25W charger and cable). Also half price 45W charger for who needed.

    • And 12 month plan?

      • Nope, no plan with Education store.

        • +1

Geez so at least another $200 on top just for a prepaid 12 month. ouch

    • Not Any more 50% on 45w charger through my education portal ..

  • Is it possible to get $10 per month credit?

Yes you can if it's a new connection or port-in but unlike deals in the past it doesn't seem to be automatic so make sure you ask them to apply it on connection or chase it up in chat right away. My workmate was told in store it would be applied by Telstra then was told by Telstra they should've applied it in store but got resolved in the end.

    • I signed up to three Telstra plans at JB HiFi Leichardt two weeks ago and they (JB HiFi) automatically applied the $10pm discount for me without even asking.

No Memory Card support, No Timely updates, No Headphone/charger, Shitty Samsung support.
Samsung has lost it all. Better buy a Google Pixel or Apple IMO.

  • Samsung depreciation in progress

  • also had they have the ultra on 99p/m plan for $1199 outright

Been using the S series since S6 in 2015. Due for a new phone this year. Decided to skip it. Too many bitter pills to swallow.

    • no headphone jack
    • no SD card slot
    • no charger included
    • no dual sim (unless one of them is eSIM)

I can deal with one or two of those on its own, but the forced migration to eSIM for dual sim users was the last straw.

I'm now looking for recommendations on a flagship phone with OLED (preferably QHD+ but will accept FHD+), dual sim, and headphone jack. Minimum storage is 512GB (if without SD card, or 256GB with SD card).

Any suggestions? LG's V60 ticked these boxes but was US exclusive.

Seconded, also in the same boat.

    • I agree and I yet I sort of can see why it wouldn't bother me.
      1. I've been using BT for the past ~6 years?
      2. I used to find the phone slowed down when I had too much on the SD but performed better when I purchased phones with larger on board storage. I also stream almost everything with photos and videos stored to the cloud (which Google Rewards easily offsets annually).
      3. I have plenty of chargers at home. If they were only going to give us the shitty charging bricks, I would've turned around and purchased a higher powered brick and kept the original in the box for future resell.
      4. Hmm ye, dual sim would be nice lol

they've not only removed the SD card slot, they've reduced the amount on storage on the phone.

My S10+ has 512GB, and there was an option for 1TB. The S21 only goes up to 256GB. Your options are 128/256. S10's options were 128/512/1TB.

They actually skipped 256GB. The first upgrade over the base was 512. Now you get half that for the first and only upgrade.

      Have to import these:

Sony Xperia 5 II - FHD, 120Hz, headphone jack, SD card slot…

Sony Xperia 1 II - 4K, 60Hz, headphone jack, SD card, wireless charging

      • 4k lol.

Is it 4K only in certain apps or always 4k? That would be so pointless on a device that small.

        • 4K only when watching 4K content. The screen is super impressive. It's not that small of a phone.

  • I think this is the first real deal in market for the Ultra that rivals the offerings from Vodafone. Very concern about Telstra speed though as it has been garbage for the last year on 4G. I hope for those who sign up get good speed on the 5G network.

For me I resisted the temptation on launch and feel lucky that I did as everyone trashing the price of Galaxy Bud Pro on Gumtree and ebay.

    • Aye.

I finally made the switch to Telstra because all their fanboys on here love them….tbh, the speeds is the same if not worse than my previous Optus network. The only good thing about the move was the $500GC from JB and 12months discounted Kayo

    • it was bad for me the past year too. It was good the year before that. I don't know what happened.

I don't have 5G in my area, but I have seen it and it's not all that impressive.
