  • Bought one of these the other day for just under $10 more. Good find.

  • So you have to buy the game and a subscription and then you get a extra 2 months?
    I dont understand the promo.

    • From the Description
DOES NOT REQUIRE GOW3 AND CAN BE USED FOR ALL GAMES!

So u do nothing u just get 14 months for $50

  • So many XBOX deals coming out now. Think I have to get one for the kids to replace the Wii. Is the 4GB version enough or is it recommended to buy the 250gb version?

    • Definitely get the bigger HDD. 4GB is no where near enough space, even for simple game saves you'll find it used up fairly quickly.

      • and with some updates they can be pretty big. BF3's update was 2GB. Factor in that you'll occassionally want to buy games on XBL store are well. Also I tend to save all my games on the drive so the disc isn't constantly spinning.

      • You can get 16G memory sticks and use them. If you don't store games, music or video on the HD surely 16G + 4G is easily enough?

        • I have added my 8gb stick and everytime I switch on the xbox, I need to format it, and previous data is gone.
After formatting and copying a new game it exists for that time only.

        • Gagans please try another usb stick cause that is not correct information to give other people, I have used my 16gb usb and never had to format it once. It sounds like you have a faulty usb stick. Please dont be ignorant and try other solutions before posting comments like that. Some usb sticks can be incompatible due to the chipset they use aka cheap china fake memory.

        • @japik, Thanks for your commens.
I know what I am writing. I have my 8GB HP USB Drive. I dont understand why you wrote not correct information. This is what happening with me, so I am sharing. Dont be defensive, as if you are a Rep.
Secondly for compatibility, It says compatible when plugged in.

        • Gagans u must have a bad stick, or its not fully compatible.
Japik is right you're giving false information. It may be the case with ur stick, but that is not universal with everyone. my stick works fine.

If they are young kids then you could make do with a 4gb console. You can also expand the memory with USB I believe.

I have a 120gb Elite console with plenty of space left on it

      • Thanks for the feedback fellow members, most appreciated.

        • Installing games to the HDD reduces the work load for the DVD drive, which can reduce the chances of DVD drive errors.

120GB is plenty, but you can pick up a 250GB HDD for under $100. I bought one myself this week and it's the best thing I have purchased for any of my consoles.

        @ iBuzz7S, I totally agree + less heat.

    • Definitely go for the large hard drive. The ability to copy your games onto the hdd, and play them from there (albeit with the original DVD still in the drive) makes the load times faster, and the system quieter. Let alone the fact you can put music, avi's etc on there, and the new system o/s Microsoft recently released makes it really easy to play everything.

Not a bad deal for an Australian site. But it's a little dodgey for them to be selling the bonus code for an Omen Lancer Weapon separately. If you don't mind buying from an overseas website they will send you a photo of both codes (the weapon or other DLC code, and the subscription code).

    • Which site is that? Cheapest I found was $65 delivered

    • Ozgameshop can't send you photos of code though. You will receive it by mail.

Yep and you also receive the bonus code for the GOW3 bonus weapon with the mailout :)

      Good work Moocher. :)

  • Do they send the code immediately? This might be the tipping point for me getting a subscription - UFC 141 will be airing for free on xbox live.

  • I have used GameCard in the past and their service is great. Had a little issue with a delivery, which was resolved within 3 hours of opening a "case".

14 months for $50 is an awesome Christmas gift for the kids, or the older gamer.

  • I am confused as to whether to purchase from gamecard or ozgameshop…

    Has anyone bought it yet?

    • +2

I Bought from OZgameshop and it took 12 working days to arrive. if you're not in a hurry then that would be fine but if you're impatient this one.

  • I normally use GameCard to buy my xbox live gold and have had no issues. Last purchase was in May; $48 for 12 months.

  • Let me understand…

    OZgameshop posts it to you?
Gamecard emails you the code and/or picture of the code?

    • Yes that's correct. Normally a couple of weeks through ozgameshop for delivery but you get the physical card (same as if you bought it from a store) which includes the Downloadable Content code, which gamecard are not passing on. I'd recommend ozgameshop if you aren't in a hurry.

  • Maybe GameCard need to spend more time working out why they're selling Forza 4 for $80 when GameLane have it for $55 delivered?

  • Thanks hellrazorone! I will use OZgameshop, anyone know when these things expire though? Because i still have a bit over a month of live to use.

You can use it straight away, the 14 months will be added to whatever Gold you have left so you won't lose that month.
