G2A is the #1 website that should be avoided when purchasing game keys. They are known to resell keys that are purchased using stolen credit cards. If this happens there is a chance your Xbox Live account will be banned.

A number of game developers have openly said they would prefer you pirate their games rather than purchasing keys from G2A. Yes, it's that bad.

    • Thanks for the info. Wasn't aware of it.

G2a is a seemingly a marketplace like eBay. This seller has over 2000 sales with 99% positive feedback. I'm happy to take the risk at half the price. Not sure how I would pirate games on an Xbox.

      • That big of a risk for $40… man that’s a bit extreme
This is Ozbargain and all but come on…

        • -2

If losing $40 breaks you, you shouldn't be paying for Xbox live, but food instead.

At any rate, I paid with PayPal, via a credit card. No money will be lost.

@brendanm: The risk is that you lose your Xbox Live account. That includes all digital content you own, as well as your saved games.

The risk is far greater than $40.

@guidedlight: When you show them that you didn't actually use a stolen credit card, it's reinstated, it's literally in one of your Reddit posts. As I said, seller has over 2000 sales with no issues. I'm personally not worried, if others don't want to use it, don't.

If Microsoft didn't try to rort us with ridiculous pricing here, this wouldn't be an issue.

You should probably neg every single deal from eBay as well, heaps of problematic and scammy sellers on there as well.

              • @brendanm: Guy was too busy posting and not reading.

Microsoft assume you've done the dirty and when you prove that you haven't you will be fine

Plenty of less dodgy places to regularly get Gold cheaper.

Don't promote awful stores like these.

    • -1

Post up a deal then champ. I looked on here, none cheaper.

      • I'd hate for you to lose your Xbox account, is what I'd normally say. But well, yeah.

Gold is regularly on sale, you can easily buy cheaper than Aussie Retail. And for whatever price, it's better than dealing with G2A.

So much flak for a decent deal. Thanks OP. 👍🥰

Haha you can't win em all 🤷‍♀️

  • Just me or does the price for this change when you add it to the cart? When it's in my cart it shows as 49.42 AUD, I don't get why?

    • +2

Ah, seems like I caught it right as the price was being changed. If you go here https://www.g2a.com/xbox-live-gold-subscription-card-12-mont… there's another seller (Licdkeys) selling for $42.23.

I ended up going with them and now have 37 months of game pass ultimate for $127.69! That's $3.45 a month, pretty sweet deal! Thanks @brendanm ! Think the flak you got for this deal is pretty unwarranted, it's not like G2A is any shadier than any of the other gold key deals that get posted here, they're just more well known.

      • Got the same, easy process.
