I bought this last year July for $118 - $19 promotion = $99 because I thought they would've been OOS forever after that promotion lol. Big RIP

Same price at Umart if you can do click and collect.

  • Add $5 more and you get the 870 model.

    • Woa 300tbw vs 2400tbw

      Worth the extra 5$

Edit: misleading, 2400tbw is online for the 4gb model

    • for someone clueless, is it much of a difference?

      • +2

If you write 100gb a day, a 300tbw drive should last you 8 years on average.

  • Silly question, but is this okay to use for a boot drive?

    • SSDs for a boot drive is the way to go 👍

Cheers. I read that some aren't suitable (D-ram or something)

I think we are going to see a lot of deals on the old Samsung 860 model as a large amount of stock of the new Samsung 870 has arrived at really good prices.

  • I'm planning on putting the 870 into an old laptop, from what I can tell I need a spacer or shim due to see being 7mm and the laptop drive bay is 9mm.
The crucial MX series SSD comes with a spacer, Iooks like Samsung 870 doesn't.

Anyone purchased an 870 and got a spacer in the box?

  • Can you crack these open and install internally via sata? Any help much appreciated

  • Can I please ask, is this compatible with a XPS 13 9350 laptop purchased from 2015? Or is there an alternative recommendation for this laptop?

    • +1

      Nah a 2.5" SSD won't fit. For the Dell XPS 13 9350 Late 2015 edition purchase a M.2 NVMe 2280 PCIe Gen 3.0 x4 SSD. Crucial P2, Crucial P5, Kingston A2000 or Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe SSD 👍
