2gb ram, 32 gb Rom? Are we back in 2010?

    • +2

Apparently a MediaTek Helio P22T is "powerful" too D:

Hey, it is under $200 with decent bluetooth speaker-stand and Alexa included.

A good price for what it is, capable of plenty, just not Chrome with thirty tabs open.
I guess a cheaper and more versatile alternative to nest hub max or echo show 10?

I'll stick with paying a little more for the galaxy tab 7, with no speaker I think.

I won't buy this Suzuki Swift, I think ill stick with buying an Audi S5.

galaxy tab a7 as low as 220-250 when on sale.
about 20-30 bux more…for something i believe is superior.

        just giving people options.
(although admittedly, that just looks ,like the preorder price)

        • Ah, Tab A7. Thought you were talking about the Tab S7.

          • @JerryB: oh, lol, no. I did say "little more" LOL, which kinda rules the s7 out/

yeah, id love the S7 for a little more than the lenovo though!

I picked up the 4GB RAM 64GB storage M10 Plus for $250 last year, I only use it for work (things like Unifi/Amplifi setups) so it doesn't need to be too fancy, but I've got no complaints at all. The only real downside is it's limited to 802.11ac, but then I knew that when I bought it - its specs and features are fine for the price. If I wanted it to do a lot more I'd have paid more, but that's what my laptop is for. I haven't used the 2GB RAM version, but I suspect that would be a bit too limiting. An extra $50 for twice the RAM is a no-brainer IMO - 2GB is just insufficient for all but the lightest uses.

    • I've a similar one the Lenovo Smart Tab, 4gb, and am pretty happy with it in general. It could do with more grunt though - I do sometimes have chrome freze badly.

I do like that the OS is pretty light - it isn't a bloated operating system.

      And up to Android 10.

I would like a really high end tablet though with Android one. Not a bloated manufacturer flavor.

      • Does the tablet respond to "Ok Google" commands?

        • It has it, but I have all that talking to device rubbish and it is one of the first things I disable on a device when I get one, like Google one, google, google news, text to speech, assistant, digital wellbeing, etc. I don't need or want any of that

          • @Mobe1969: I want to use it as a wall mounted control device so the voice activated Google assistant would be useful.

  • Teclast m30 X27 are worth a look @ Banggood for an extra 31 cents.

    I wouldn't pay more then$50 for this.

  • this is too restricted for me but whats a good reliable tablet that has a similar horizontal charging dock? this is going under my main monitor just to stream movies, sport and cast music from. I'm using an ipad atm, but the charging cable sticking out the side just looks ugly. #firstworldproblems

    • Try the Lenovo smart tab. It has a kick stand in it so stands horizontal while charging or on a surface in use.

Downvote me all you want, but every time I come into a deal with an underpowered machine at a low price, I get annoyed at the comments saying how underpowered it is, and to spend 6000 more dollars to get a better one.

      @shiny1… I agree 100%
I can't restrain my laughter when the whingers come on and complain (read 'crap-on') about the device being hopeless for gaming, even when no-one asks if you can use it for gaming… It is incredible how some people don't understand how many devices are 'built for purpose' (say email, word processing and light browsing) and instead want a device for under $100 that does everything but make toast for you in the morning.

      peace out :)

      • yeah, 600 more fine, but if you can get something far superior for like 20 bux, why wouldn't you. the samsung a7 has been as low as 220-250 in past sales, id rather hold out for that.

(although admittedly, that just looks ,like the preorder price)

    • Especially since everyone is comparing it to tablets, when it seems clearly marketed as an alternative to an Echo Show but with a better screen and some extra portability benefits.

I wouldn't think an Echo Show would have better specs than this.

  • I bought this even cheaper. You don't want this even for your worst enemy. It is painfully slowwwwwwws

The kids have this and it runs all their games and streaming services. No complaints from dad.

Note potential DRM-related issue that limits Netflix and Amazon Prime Video to SD or sub-FHD.
