  • nice unit, works a treat with Synology NAS. Small foot print

    • How many minutes do you get?

      • +1

Yikes, hit mains power to test properly… all good. 41 minutes with a ds918 and 5 expansion. Has usb connection and tells it to power down after X minutes. So don't need any bigger.
Replaced batteries on older larger unit and use for rtx3080 rig

        • 41 minutes is insane!

        • What are you using for your 3080? Looking for a UPS solution / safeguard

Great for 3D printers too. Just be careful if you've got an AC heatbed as they can draw quite a bit of power and might exceed the 390W limit.

  • Nice on OP, just snapped one up from OW. Was looking out for one for my Synology NAS.

My last Cyberpower GP LCD 2200 VA made an annoying intermittent buzzing noise that could be heard throughout our unit (and it wasn't charging at the time). It got replaced, and then the new one did it as well. It ended up taking four months for them to agree to refund me, and another two to get the refund.

    Terrible customer service.

I was looking at this model last week, but couldn't work out if the battery was replaceable. If not, could be a neg vs the Power Shield Defender for example, which is similarly priced, that definitely can have its battery replaced.

      Battery
      User-replaceable : No

(Note that this is totally bonkers, batteries are consumable items in a UPS !!!)

      • Confirmed nail in the coffin, cheers.
Looks like I'll be getting the Power Shield.

        • User-replaceable : No

Generally just means you need to open it up and if you’re really unlikely unsolder something. It’s not like the battery will be welded into place.

          Would be a 12v 6-7ah

Just picked one up from OW… battery is easily replaceable…
Just two screws at the bottom, remove the front panel and you've got access to the 12V 7Ah SLA.

            @lemony: Great post !

How weird that they would list it as not user-replaceable then ⚠️
That process is almost exactly the APC process except they have a metal clip instead of screws.

@Nom: less liability if a user screws up the red and black cable .. or didn't properly ground self .. or other insurance things.

          • @lemony: Legend, cheers.

          • @lemony:

            • a 9ah battery is the same size, and is what they use in the VP1000 model! Easy upgrade
            • @SimoHDK: Probably… but wouldn't the controller have been calibrated for 7Ah?
So you might end up with incorrect stats on the display; or something worse…
