  • Aren't these LG TVs pretty mediocre?

    • +16

They can't be! They have "thinq" and "smart" and "AI" and "NanoCell" in the name! ;-) ;-)

      • +2

They need to more X, XT, Super, Max in their naming…

        • +1

And maybe 3000 to make it sound futuristic.

        • missing 'pro' in the name.

  • +3

I’d probably wait until new models hit soon as possible bargains on old and rumours new models will be cheaper.

20% reduction in Australia means 50% higher

Screen is good without being great. For me, the smart features are the best. All major streaming services(bar kayo and binge) work seamlessly. Update gives access to Foxtel in full ( if you have access via a friend). Picked up mine via price match with Myer last week for 1180 for 65 inch without issue at TGG.

    • +1

$1180 it's never been anywhere near that price, did you buy nano 80 or un73 as TGG/MYER dont stock nano 80 they only stock nano 86 & higher

      • +1

Apologies RogueWolf. It was the un73. Kicking myself that I didn't hang on a little longer, but still a ripper os. They use the Webos from when HP were going to enter the tablet market and imo it's the easiest to use of all the brands.

The challenge can be, however, how long these smart-apps even remain on your TV.

I purchased a Sony TV, only to have Sony reach in and remove the no-longer-supported YouTube app two years later. A changing world of pseudo ownership :-)

  • Doesn't everyone want OLED these days?

    • +2

      Where’s a 65” OLED for under $1300?

      • -8

won't be far off. The 8Ks are already on the way

    • I definitely would if they were only $1300 😂

  • I'm hoping for runout CX at prices we saw the C9 last year

  • Any deals for 75"?
The best I can see is this from Bing Lee: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/LG-75-NanoCell-Smart-UHD-4K-TV-W…

But they are not included in the promo.

Thank you so much mate! I'm going to pull the trigger on this.

no worries, but keep in mind 2021 stock is released soon & prices may come down more

  • is this PS5 ready?

    • Samsung q70 is your cheapest bet. If by "ready" you mean 4k 120hz support via hdmi
