Just go to the Woolworths website and click the gift cards link, and the 5% off will be deducted upon checkout.

      https://www.finder.com.au/5-off-woolworths-discount

Examples are RAA, RACV, RACQ, SDA

      • +2

RAC in WA only gives us 3% off wish, 4% off woolies and 5% off bigw :(

        • +2

I guess FINDER needs to update their website

        • +1

For a while they had Essential cards at 4% too, which can only be spent in-store but at Woolies as well as fuel stations (and Big W too I think)
Was good not needing separate cards for groceries and fuel, plus 1% more off fuel than Wish.

Was going to grab a few Wish cards tonight only to find they've pulled the promo early :/

WW stopped everyone else doing 5%, I got 10x $500 cards when I was advised of the pending changes last year; still got 5 left. Should get some of these ones direct from WW, but I don't have enough readily available funds without doing a redraw from the mortgage. And I just paid extra to the mortgage, so not likely to worry about it now, playing yoyo with the funds even though it would probably be worth it. I wonder when WW will do this again. The stacking I do with WW is with the 10% off for insurance (2 times per month, once for each of 2 cars).

      • Spending $500 in one go….no thanks. I’ll just chip away with bonus point offers on low spends.

        • You do spend as you go, so do both! Of course you need the funds up front to get whatever value card(s) you buy.

          • @affinity: I was talking the 10% discount. You have to spend $500 in one shop to maximise your discount of $50

  • Ordered 2x $250 this morning. Received no cards yet. Did get an order confirmation email.
Might have to call them tomorrow.

    • Order confirmation & invoice email came through within minutes of purchasing, followed by the email with gift card details about 5 minutes after that.

    • I ordered $150 yesterday afternoon, have not received the card yet.

since interest rate is shit, just got 10K worth lol, basically using Woolies eGifts for groceries + fuels + BigW etc, bargain :))). also, with left over Coles discounted prepaid credit cards (about 17 of the $250 ones from last Coles sales, turned them into $263.16 Woolies eGift each), combine with this deal to bring some cards down to more than 10% off easily.

    • -4

Okay, 17 left, how many did you get? I managed to get 10 and helped a friend get 5, but they were generally quite difficult to get. And the thing is, you win when you buy, then it's just a poorer form of "cash", you can spend them anywhere MasterCard is accepted, but WITH LIMITS. Don't lose them, your winnings on the purchase are gone, now it is worse than money under the mattress, so to speak, as the buying power will lessen due to inflation (generally).

      • -3

why do you sound "jealous" :). I did help others secure heaps of those cards too, even more than what I bought and told Coles staff to help themselves, hence they did not mind returning the favour by helping me shop more of them back then. and the buying power never lessened, I just wait for opportunities like this happens and buy what I need instead of what are cheap, plus discounted or 1/2 price items from Woolies etc, it is way better than putting money in banks for interest earning or investing in shares tbh

        • -5

Not jealous, well done. Cash does devalue, naturally, and the cards are now less "value" than cash as they have limitations on where and how you can spend them; that's all. You are not gaining anything by holding them as you've already realized the profit value at time of purchase, ie buying money for less, but with the caveats. Spend these ASAP (without wasting them of course), as I said, they are now just a poorer version of cash that WILL naturally buy less in the future (aside from other discounts that are otherwise available using other payment sources, I don't expect anything to be cheaper when paid using Mastercard).

The mistake I made was to get extra flybuys dollars, that destroyed the offers I get on that card now. So, like others, I got a second flybuys card and that still has good offers. I believe others have many flybuys cards….

          • +1

@affinity: omg, you still convince yourself about your version of "lessened value" ;). do you know you can use those cards basically for almost everything from paying bills, rates, groceries, fuels, dine-outs, etc + saving with promos and discounts on top of them, over 10% at least can easily beat whatever inflation you can chuck in right now or even for the next few years

            • -1

@webtherapist: It is real simple. Cash today, in hand, no matter the form, can usually buy less tomorrow. And discounts tomorrow will be no less value no matter what payment form is accepted. Sure it is true that the Mastercards can be spent at so many places, but direct bank payment /may/ be preferable and a discount for paying in cold hard cash may not be possible. People sell JB HiFi gift cards at a discount to attain real cash, not saying anyone should do the same with these Mastercards.

If you hold the card, then it's real effective value will decline over time; you have ALREADY realized the discount in attaining it. The same is true of normal cash, but you are not buying "real" cash at a discount; although the MCs were close to that, but ONLY at the time of purchase and not after.

I tried few times but also receiving following error. Does anyone know a solution here.

Sorry! We can't seem to process your payment at this time. Please try again later

    • not working for me too… exactly the same message.

Sorry! We can't seem to process your payment at this time
      Please try again later.

      Refresh page

      • +1

Yep, I've got that several times now

        • It's still not working for me.

I tried using Chrome and Edge browser and both of them in incognito mode and normal mode…
Hope they fix it today else I might miss out on the deal

    • Try purchasing the gift cards with a different credit or debit card, if you keep on getting this message.

  • What is the current best generally accessible alternative to this promo? (I don't have NRMA, RACQ, AGL, HCF??)

Trying to figure out how much to stock up now (esp. since I still have about 20% of the stock of WISH e-Gift cards I bought before CR ended the 5%) and at some point the extra % savings isn't worth the pre-buy in terms of lost interest..

Sorry if this has been asked but I couldn't find with some Ctrl+F of various things (e.g. "%")

    • +1

Current best on wish is 3% or 4% for woolworths (groceries only) gift card

Sorry just realised you don't have racq, so yea not sure on where you can get then.

      • Thanks! Sounds like there isn't a generally available option then, but otherwise you can get 4% (Woolworths only) from a number of memberships.

Given I don't think I have any of them, I might get a top-up from this then, otherwise I'd probably settle for 4% to avoid over-buying :-)

  • Ordered yesterday and still waiting for the gift card.

    • check your bank acc then email Woolies with your transaction ref number. It happened to me once ages ago, it's the internet/bank/whatever reason so the transaction actually did not go through. 99% time you'd get it within mins.

      • I raised this question last time I had issues with wish gift card. A lot of people just reply by saying they received theirs.
Just call customer service on 1300 10 1234 during business hours.

There two reason for the delay. The bank has placed a hold on the transaction or you transaction was affected by Woolworths end of day.
They should be able to push the transaction through if it was a Woolworths end of day or investigate the matter.

    • Took 6 minutes for my Gift Cards to come through to my email.

  • Thanks OP, purchased 5 x $500, all received it straight away..

  • Forgive my ignorance but can these be used to buy other gift cards?

I need a bunnings gift card so if I bought a discounted wish card could I use this in a woolies store to buy a bunnings gift card?

    • +1

      No.

      • You cannot pay for gift cards with WISH/store-branded gift cards at Woolworths Group stores. Woolworths Group stores patched this loophole a couple of years ago.
      • As far as I am aware, Woolworths Group stores do not sell Bunnings gift cards.

You can pay for Bunnings gift cards with Coles gift cards at Coles. I know because I did that last week at a self-service checkout. This deal may be of interest to you, since you should be able to get up to 15% cashback on a gift card purchase.

      • Many thanks for explanation and work around…

        • $20 max cashback limits the benefits….but still good.

      • Hey mate. Do we get a cashback update immediately?

        • +1

When I purchased a gift card at a different retailer using my linked card, I got an email from Cashrewards within a few minutes confirming my purchase was tracked. However, cashback will be pending for at least another month…

  • +3

I wanted two $150 egift cards: WISH Lights eGift Card @ $150.00
I am not getting the discount applied automatically and the code is not working "Please check your order and try again."
The home page banner was showing the discount promo, but now it is not. Ended early?
I also tried incognito mode in Firefox.

    • +1

      Same…might be all over

  • +2

The promo is over as the code no longer works.

Glad I bought enough in the morning

  • +2

Damn looks like I missed out. Code no longer works.

  • Damn it! It seems it ended earlier than advertised. Missed…..

  • They may send the same card to more than one person, which happened to me last time. Eventually, they sent me a replacement gift card after several conversations.

Remember to check your card balance occasionally (https://giftcards.woolworths.com.au/check-balance or use the Woolworths Money app) if it won't be used for a period of time.

    • +1

They may send the same card to more than one person

WTF! How does this happen when you run a gift card business? Epic Fail!

      • This was even better. $1.3m worth. Have linked to the post that identified an email as sent out with over 7000 gift card recipients with gift card links and personal details. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/195361?page=2#comment-2787…

        • Good times!

Some dodgy people out there had a field day when they received that spreadsheet with everyone's gift cards.

          • @tight-ass: I played it above board. I converted to physical cards (you could back then), and then if you remember, they cancelled all the cards and reissued them….that was double for nothing plus a discount on top :)

        • Lol. I completely forgot about that. I was one of the people who got the email back then.

  • +3

Missed due to procastination. I needed $500 worth of gift cards.

    • Same

      • +1

I was sure the advertising said it expires today…. expected it to still be available with today being the last day, oh well.

    • I was waiting for the credit card to tick over to the new billing cycle, and they cut the deal early.

      • same!!

      • -1

you can use ZipPay that will help with the timing from your credit card unless your credit card charge cash advance fee for payment back to Zip

  • +4

i called them and said I was going to get $500 worth last night, and although he said he couldn't give me the discount, he sent me an additional $25 gift card since the offer ended early

  • +1

What a pain. I was going to grab a couple as well today (already grabbed $250 on initial day). Thought the advertised for ending today hence left purchasing more until now as would not expected Woolles to end advertised deal early.

    • Never wait for anything.
