And have new payment method, that's the real catch. Anyone can create a new account

      • +2

Can you use a new paypal account? Or do they see the payment method behind that?

  • How does it compare to Deezer or Tidal? Does it offer MQA or hires tracks?

    • Main benefit of Spotify is all the play lists, music side is one of the worst I have found.

  • After I register it only says 1 month free

    • same here unfortunately they only offered me 1 month

  • HiFi available yet?

    • +2

Nope. Can't see it being worth it personally given many are listening through means that'll impact it like Bluetooth.

From someone with high end audio gear.

      • I tried Tidal not the same even on Bluetooth Soundpeats

        • So it’s better?

          • +1

@WhyAmICommenting: MQA on Tidal much better, of course still better if you have the Hi-Res audio locally because Tidal even on Windows app it is only 44.1 PCM

            • +1

@superforever: On tidal you need to run the windows app in exclusive mode (setting in tidal). Then I use HDMI from my computer to my receiver. I get 96khz on a lot of master tracks but not all.

Reason is in windows shared between apps is default 48khz. So tidal wants to say I am the only app using the sound card and I'll do whatever mode I want.

i find youtube music just as good. Have youtube premium and it lets me listen to the music with no ads and it only costs me $2.40 a month

Are there podcasts on YT Music?

      • +1

        That's the only thing missing

      • +2

It's a separate app for some reason - google podcasts

    • through a VPN? I think in AU its $19.95 per month, no?

      • +5

        New to OzB?

        It gets posted often.

        Only to sign up.

      • I'm in an old grandfathered family plan, so it's $36 a year per person

    • +1

Me n My family watch a lot YT. YT is a way to go for me plus we get Youtube music to listen baby shark :p

The only time I miss Spotify is when using Google maps. Don’t know why they have only Spotify integration but not others. It’s funny that Google doesn’t support its own Product.

      • Try Waze, it has support for most music streaming apps even Audible as well.

    • +5

For those on android, you can get YT music vanced for free.

    • +1

The app is absolute garbage. In Android auto its unusable

    • If I try to subscribe YT music premium it says $11.99 at month. To have the small price you say it ask me to subscribe to YT Premium at about $14.

PS just read about India shortcut so disregard this.

    Spotmybackup.com to transfer playlists

    • Can we edit the playlists or just transfer?

  • +1

https://www.mooval.de/ use it to easily transfer playlists and liked artists/songs to a new account

  • Or, you can just share the link from your playlist rather than using a 3rd party to do it.

    • Way too much work if you have too many playlists. Easier to use the 3rd party apps for the migration.

  • Received 2 months - I believe I used the 7-day trial many years ago and haven't used premium since.
Sticking with tidal for as long as possible though

  • Thanks OP. I got 3 MONTHS Spotify premium

  • +1

    You’re Premium now for 3 months… Priceless!
    Previous free 3 month user.

    • +3

      You can cancel straight away

      • You can cancel straight away but still get the 3 months free?
