          I've had both vanilla and chocolate, and neither are super sweet. My point of reference is Musashi, and Aminoz has significantly less sugar, so it's notably less sweet.

          Thanks for asking Sidor. I'd agree with below - vanilla and choc aren't overly sweet. Sweetness is fairly similar for each flavour as an FYI. However with the coffee, the coffee flavour does counter the sweetness somewhat.

    Hey Jay, just curious if the addition of BCAA's is a recent thing as I recall the WPI about a year ago didnt contain any?

      Thanks for asking aj01. There is no addition of BCAA's into the WPI, but we do have the amino acid profile listed on the product page. This is the amino acid breakdown of the protein itself, not additional amino acids added into the product. I hope this clarifies.

      We have had a clump(ier) formulation in the past but have improved our formulation more recently to overcome this. This was a result of the protein that we were using. In terms of assisting it to mix better for previous batches, I can suggest to increase the amount of fluid and use a shaker bottle to shake. Was the clumping a major issue for you? When did you place the order?

        My last order about a month ago of the Coconut Ice Cream is very clumpy. Ive tried even pressing on it and shaking it whilst sealed in the bag and it works when I immediately pour but go back to it tomorrow and its clumped up again?! Thanks Jay

    Appreciate the excellent customer service these guys provide but the flavours are terribly overrated here on OzB. The WPI powder doesn't mix very well with water compared to VPA (my regular).

    Bought a few kgs based on the recommendations from previous deals and:-

    Choc coconut - terrible, tastes nothing like bounty as was suggested by many users. I rate it 4/10

    Strawberry - actually not too bad. 7/10

    Banana - decent too. 7/10

    Thanks OP! Still had 3kg leftover from last deal. Bought another 3kg again. Got 1x Choc Coconut and 2x Chocolate flavours (these flavours were great from last time). One suggestion: The packets which contain the protein rip very easily from the top, which leads to the protein not being able to be sealed properly. Not sure if this has been fixed already?

      Thanks for the order itslittfam! This stuff lasts a while - there will be roughly 2 years on the best before date so you should be fine.

      Thanks for the note on the packaging. Yes some flavours will still have this issue as we are currently transitioning to an improved package and also experimenting with a new style of zip lock bag (to keep the cost down versus a jar, but a better material than we used previously). A number of other customers have reached out to me about this too and it is something we are aiming to improve as quickly as possible. I really appreciate the feedback here.

      Thanks for asking taeryn. The coconut flavours will have tree nuts (as coconut is considered a tree nut) in the flavouring component. So our facility does process tree nuts (coconut) only and there is a risk of traces being present in other flavours (even though we do extensive cleaning in between batches to avoid allergen contamination). No other tree nuts are processed in our facility. We are also completely free of soy, peanuts, egg, shellfish and sesame.

      Hi Kista, thanks for asking. Technically you could use this as a meal replacement, but it is not your traditional meal replacement (which will typically be fortified with vitamins and minerals). Because WPI is so quick to consume, it's not going to give you as much long-lasting satiety as another protein form (such as casein).

      Something like casein is very slow to absorb and has a similar calorie density to WPI. Thus it will keep you fuller for longer.

      Having said that, you can use this product as a shake to have instead of eating a high calorie snack. But it is better for post-workout due to its fast absorption rate.

        I tend to mix with water (haven't tried with milk yet) - I find that the aftertaste is a bit artificial and theres a layer of froth that forms on the top. This doesn't happen with the chocolate flavours.

        For WPI vs WPC, key things to note:

        • WPI higher protein, lower carb/fat (due to additional filtration)
        • WPI is more expensive as a raw material
        • WPI is faster to digest into the body

        WPI is the best quality protein you can use especially post-workout as it has a very high bioavailability. You would generally use WPC if you want to save some money since it's cheaper.

    I made the mistake of buying the coffee flavoured one. 3/10 - tasted like dirty water. Milk makes it a tad more bearable.

    Doesn't mix well either, with water or milk.

    I assume the other flavours would be better though.

    Bought 3kg WPI from the last deal and I'm about to run out now but I just bought some from myprotein :( otherwise I would jump straight on this.

    I've only tried the chocolate, vanilla and banana so far. Vanilla and chocolate are awesome

    Banana tasted absolutely horrible but I ended up mixing it with some cacao and ended up a bit nicer.

        Hi Jay,

        I notice the sweetener more than I would like to. The chocolate tastes pretty chocolatey when mixed water, it is just the sweetener after-taste that turns me off it. Vanilla I just didn't like.

        I also will mix them with my morning coffee and both flavours taste atrocious when mixed in with coffee. The unflavoured only slightly changes the flavour and not in a negative way.

        I've given the flavoured ones to my brother who is enjoying them, he mixes them with water only.

    Great response time from Jay and team and a good local company we should support. For the last promo I ordered Strawberry, Chocolate, Choc Coconut, and some Green Tea Powder. Missus loved the Strawberry, I love the Chocolate, but we couldn't finish the Choc Coconut. Which reminds me, I've yet to open the Green Tea (totally forgot about it) lol

    As for the protein content, it is around 80g/100g. I use another WPI brand simultaneously (costs around the same) which has 90g/100g protein and the product is much thicker, though AminoZ proteins are thinner and easy to mix. As for the taste the Strawberry and Chocolate tastes very nice, the powder is very fine, I'd rate both 8/10. But the Choc Coconut tends to clump up and generally has the least amount of protein 78.9g/100g, they were inundated with orders last time so could be just an unlucky bag.

      The clumping may have been related to the old formulation too.

      Good point on the thickness of the protein. This is something we purposely did as we opted not to add in any thickeners into the product. I'm unsure if the other product has this, but many other products on the market do.

    Long time aminoz shopper and have had the WPI many times. On the last special where you guys had sold out online I went in store at Caringbah and the guy ended up finding me a Vanilla in the shop. It tasted and appeared a bit different from what I recalled. Had more a yellow colour than the whitish.

    Bout half way or so through the bag we started to not be able to finish our shakes. The taste just wasn't right. If the shake was made and then left to sit - it dried down to this bizarre clear, yellow liquid (almost looked like a pre workout) - didn't really resemble the traditional protein shake we're use to.

    Did you guys reformulate or was there perhaps a bad batch ?

      Thanks for sharing Bigredkeg. This seems very odd - do you have a batch number by any chance? As far as we are aware we haven't had any issues with any of our vanilla batches though.

    I enjoyed the choc coconut a lot 9/10. Just opened the banana, I did not enjoy that one 2/10.
