    save 69 for a refurb ??

    • thats what she said…

    • Would be a deal for sth. with a new price tag < $300.

When you spending 1500+ for the monitor I'd definitely pay extra 6% to get a new one over refurb

  • +3

Just FYI, refurbished monitors don't come with all cables, they only include power and only one display cable. I just bought U3421WE 2 weeks ago, it happened for me and not sure for everyone else

Also what's the chance a refurbished is one with a dead pixel that was returned? Not worth the risk. Besides, the 34 inch AW3420DW (discontinued model) was on sale for around $1000 mark new via their ebay outlet couple weeks back.

    • When dell has an outlet store on eBay?

      • +2

Not outlet sorry. The AW3420DW was on sale for around $1000 on the normal dell store on ebay. So that was new not refurbished.

    • I returned one with a barely noticeable bright dead pixel, so there’s one floating around …

    • true.. i took the 38' 3 weeks ago, have a dead pixel, they are ok to return the screen and refund me. But i'm too lazy, and, honestly, with this size, i never notice it

      • May I ask if they are willing to pay the return postage and give you a full refund (i.e. no restocking fee)?

        • +1

they said full refund and full postage :

I have raised a request to collect the order and the reverse logistics will contact you within 2-3 business days. Please co-ordinate with the reverse logistics to collect the order and confirm.

Once the order is collected and moved to Dell warehouse, I will process the refund and will follow up until the refund is completed from our end.

          • @Nasser67: Sounds smooth. I was expecting they would make it difficult to return since 1 dead pixel is not covered by the premium panel guarantee.

            • @S2200: Premium Panel Guarantee is for the life of the warranty, if you receive a defective unit from new that's different. Under Aussie consumer law it's reasonable to expect that a product will be provided free of defects (particularly so at this price range) so a faulty unit should be replaced or refunded.

Refurbished should be around 70-80% of brand new price max,
A brand new one is around $1550 so a refurbished should be around $1100-1200

    • Won't happen for a > $1000 monitor unfortunately.

Great monitor, would recommend. But they're dreaming at that price for a refurb.

  • The base cost price of these is 1480 brand new currently so anything less then that is below dell cost, so it's going to be a while until you get under 1400 at least till they start aging in a warehouse

    • Hey, since you marked yourself as associated, I assume you work for Dell. Do you know how come there is no AW3421DW available? Looking at the pattern AW3418DW, AW3419DW, AW3420DW all released in August of 2017,2018,2019 respectively from what I could find. So how come there was no AW3421DW (I believe the '21' stands for 2021 version) released last year? Is there any plan for it? Is an AW3422DW coming this August?

I've tried asking Dell chat agents but they have no idea about whether a 34 inch alienware will be available. All they know is that at the moment they are discontinued. Interesting though that 7 new units of AW3420DW showed up on the Dell ebay store one month ago.

      • Correction > double checked and there is actually no "AW3419DW" which means Dell isn't releasing a new 34 inch model every year. Perhaps we're due for one this year. Or perhaps not given silicon shortages.

        • Sorry, not in any area related to the end user product stuff, so have no idea unfortunately.

  • new one currently $1623.20 in dell ebay with PDLT20

  • There's another refurb AW3821DW for $1309 on the Dell Outlet store.
