  • This or the Xbox wireless headset?

    • +1

Different categories. This is wired and designed for PC use, Xbox wireless headset is.. wireless and designed for Xbox use.
One cool feature on the Xbox wireless headset is how it can simultaneously link to your console AND phone so you can chat on discord while you play with the same headset.

I think I’ll mostly be only using the headset for Xbox console. So I’m currently contemplating which has better value in terms of audio and comfort. Say what’s the advantage of the EPOS over Xbox headset in terms of audio and comfort.
        Thanks!

      • Now there's talk of MS buying Discord too interestingly enough

This will work with other consoles and PCs if that’s something that matters to you.

    • Given all the comparisons being asked for in the comments I'll just post this here: this would resemble the Sennheiser HD 598CS.

  • Thanks OP and the other user her posted it in the other thread.

Tired of waiting for the Steelseries to be back in stock so these will do for now.

    • You'll be glad you chose these over the steelseries. I can vouch for their quality. Amazing sound, especially for less than a hundred bucks!

Haha the only one I make in time foris the one I don't really want. Great deal tho!

      Same boat as me.

Great deal for great headphones, but the deal-breaker for me is that the cable is fixed. My family seem to break the cables with monotonous regularity, so a replacement plug in cable is critical for me…

    • I thought the cable on the open back version is removable. I wouldn’t have bought it if it wasn’t.

I think the same is true for the closed back.

      • Just read that older Zero models are fixed cable. Best confirm before you buy.

I got white ones from 2015 and it's removable. Comes with two cables one with a headset plug and one with individual mic and headphone plugs.

    • https://youtu.be/3TUT-0Hysbs?t=710 EPOS version seems detachable

  • whats better this or Astro a40 mixamps?

    • -2

      Astro a40

  • This is a great deal. I have the white open-backed version of these, and have no complaints. Don't think I can go back to close-backed headphones though.

  • I prefer the sound isolation of the closed back ones provide compared to the open ones. Thanks OP

      Open ones should sound better.

Do you also think that food tastes the same for everyone?

    • I'm with you. If you live in a quiet house and/or neighbourhood then opens are probably preferable but I don't have that luxury right now.

  • Thanks OP…now my son won't have to use mine anymore.

  • Nice one. Glad I got my open back

just when i thought i was done with headphones after buying the m40x, dt770, hd58x, shp9500 and a few others in the last few years this (profanity) thing comes along

might have to do it, $99 is too cheap to pass and i always wanted this particular one

    • Same…I might have a problem at this point.

These are so damn comfortable too, I think I tried them on at a Gaming Convention in 2018 or 19.

      But I already have 3 High-end wired headphones…

    • Haha you guys are still infants compared to what I have… trust me you'd want to stop very soon. I'll leave it at that.

  • How do these compare with the HyperX II's, currently $125 @JBHIFI/Amazon

    • I've got the HyperX II's and I love em, but I'll be grabbing a pair of these for more work-related calls, so once these come in, I'll be able to report back.

  • Thanks, grabbed a pair.
Was looking at a standalone microphone to go with my m50x's but for roughly the same price I can just get a set of new cans.
    Perfect for my use case.
Learnt I had nearly $5 in mwave credit that I was never going to use so even sweeter.

  • Wow, this seems like a crazy good deal? Had told myself not to buy anymore tech this month but my HyperX IIs are a bit old now and this seems like a great replacement. Thanks op :)

  • A few reviews say these are best with a driver. Can anyone recommend one? I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to these sort of things.

    • If in doubt just get the Sennheiser EPOS amp seems to meet this 50ohm spec.

  • coming up full price on cart for me

  • Sold out. :(

  • So just to clarify, are these a completely new model from the old Sennheiser Game Zero's or are they just a rebrand of such? Can't seem to find much online

    • Doesn't matter, deal is over ;-)

But from what I found these are new with changes; e.g. removable cables.

      • +1

Purchased a pair when there was a comment regarding them on the other post, but just wanted to try and figure it out haha. Solid headphones regardless supposedly

  • anyone had theirs ship out yet? mine are still stuck on processing…

    • Mine dispatched 25th and arrived today with startrack.

    • ordered mine on the 25th and it is also processing

  • Received mine yesterday.. they have a pretty tight clamp force.. sound good.. but for the money.. I reckon the hyper x cloud 2 sound better and are way more comfortable.

  • Got mine and I must say these are decent headphones if you must have a 'gaming' one. Reacts very well to amping and sound is reasonably neutral with some slight bias towards higher end (perhaps for gaming details?). I am satisfied with the quality in comparison to my sound setup that would make many people drool.

$99 is a go for these if it every comes back, thought I can only imagine the open back would be better than this. Don't waste your money on anything lower.
