5900X PCPP comparison - I've set the 5900X to $1099 because the lowest PCPP price was $1699 or something, lel. This is PCCaseGear price and not sure it's actually in stock anywhere rn anyway.

any 3080 options coming soon? :D

    • +3

To paraphrase someone knowledgeable just 24 hours ago, they are a giant PITA so not until a) we have cleared existing orders and b) we have some sort of reliability back in the supply chain.

      • Hello i noticed you are stocking both gigabyte and msi psu's these days. Any chance if we got a 3080 deal from January i could request an msi psu instead of a gigabyte one?

        • +1

We do use both so I can't 100% guarantee either one will be on hand unless the product listing specifies it, but you can definitely make the request via email to [email protected] and the guys can leave a note for the Picker, who will pick accordingly if he can.

          • @luketechfast: Thanks Luke have done now. Hopefully not too much longer and we can get some 3080's in our hands.

  • How are chip stocks looking? I've been after a 5900x for a while. If I needed a whole PC I'd jump on the deal, unfortunately all I'm really after are CPU, Motherboard, and RAM.

    • Not sure there are many 5900s around for individual sale, but we do have them on hand. Only looking at builds for now.

  • Curious how good the Lancer case is? Obviously has mesh at the front so airflow won't be an issue. Ports and build quality?

    • three front ports 1 usb 3, 2 usb 2, there is a rgb controller for the front fans,

build quality is fine, the space behind the mb tray is very thin so if you modify you might find it hard to fit extra cables, the 2.5 inch mounts are fine, a little awkward but fine, my main problem with it is trying to install 3.5 inch HHDs, the HHD tray is non removable and between the PSU and front fans, i found the only way to properly install HHDs was to remove the PSU and the front fans in the way to get at the cage

I think this case is from the same "base" design which slight differences https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWEzLlQUjM8

      • Ah thanks for the link. I suspected it would be something like that. Quite small too, but I guess it is a budget option and something Allied/Techfast are pushing out.

      • three front ports 1 usb 3, 2 usb 2

Cause no one really needs that second USB 3.0 port…

  • I just purchased this system yesterday which had no Zen 3 upgrade available: https://techfast.com.au/products/AMD-Ryzen-5-3600-RTX-3070-8…

However, it seems I can just order one of these Zen 3 systems and upgrade to a 3070? Am I missing something here?

    • We're not offering the 5800X on that system/pricing setup as the overall pricing is not structured that way.

      • Understood, but if I was after a Zen 3 processor with a 3070 card, would this be the best way to achieve it at this current time?

        • For that specific combo from us, yep it would be. We can arrange the swap for you via email if you like.

          • @luketechfast: Yes please, I've already paid for the order, but would just like to upgrade the 3700X I ordered to the 5800X. Can you let me know how I can arrange this?

            • @Chael Sonnen: Please email [email protected] and we can discuss, cheers.

              • @luketechfast: Sent an email last Friday regarding to update but not sure if your team works weekends. When should I expect a response by (just so I know to keep my eye out for it)?

                • @Chael Sonnen: We're closed on weekends so the team will reply during regular business hours as soon as they're able to.

I'm interested on how the 3060/70/90s have managed to get through the supply chain seemingly consistently like the ones in this deal but no 3080s?

Have any 3080s actually arrived for the deal earlier this year or are those GPUs currently aboard the Ever Given?

I imagine you get asked this a lot but I just wanted to say that I do appreciate the updates you lot have been sending out to customers.

These deals would be 10% cheaper without your GST John.

These deals would be 10% cheaper without your GST John

IIRC, before GST, computer parts used to have a 21 or 22% sales tax. Mr Sheen actually made PCs cheaper with the GST.

    • 3080s seem almost impossible for anyone to get their hands on,
PC case gear still has 3080 orders that are unfulfilled from September https://www.pccasegear.com/rtx30

    • +1

We're only just now getting supply since we fulfilled our major orders last year and early this. We're getting handfuls of units each week, awaiting our larger allocation. They're just not hitting third party manufacturers from NVIDIA still. That is specifically 3080. Other cards like 3060 Ti are short purely from mining demand.

It's worth noting that yep many retailers' customers are still waiting for cards since initial launch in September 20, whereas we fulfilled 100% of orders up until we launched the new deal.

    From my experience with TechFast:

    • Check your BIOS settings are actually set for your memory (mine wasnt and was throttled to 2666) my mates was the same..
    • DOCP for AMD
    • XMP for Intel
    • Buy your own SSD. I upgraded to the 1tb (TEAM) branded. slow slow slow. sits there unused now
    • Installed a Crucial P2, cloned to it and my computer is where it should be
    • Expect your PC in two boxes. you will get excited and first box is just the spare cables, some unwanted mousemat and rubbish. then second box(PC) will take longer
    • an option to forego this box would be ideal.
    • Dont place an order unless you are 100% keen on it. order change and cancellation incur a 25% fee

Pricewise they are good and responsive to emails.

    • Thanks for the feedback. RAM frequencies should 100% be set each time so I'll raise with the Integrators/testers. There is never a charge to alter an order. In this supply environment of unforeseen delays cancellation requests are assessed case by case and in the case of delays with no ETA we offer cancellation with no fee. But overall yes, once a purchase is made it is final because we incur costs in order processing, stock management, etc.

    • +2

The P2 isn’t even a particularly good SSD, the provided one must be complete rubbish

  • What brand of RTX 3070 / RTX 3090 will be used in these builds?

    • MSI Gaming X Trio & Suprim

      • Missed that in the post! What about the 3070?

        • I'm guessing it would also apply to the 3070 as it's also branded under the gaming x trio and suprim moniker

    • +1

3070 will vary between Galax, Giga, MSI and Asus. It will not be a Suprim.

      • Would it be the 3 or 2 fan variants form these manufacturers?

  • Hey @luketechfast,
I am not a big fan of liquid coolers shipping. Is there a possibility of adding a nice deep cool air cooler for thermals?

    • We tried aftermarket air coolers last year and despite our internal protective packaging far too many were damaged in transit, so we just can't offer them. AIOs are all we can offer at this stage.

  • Hi Luke. Are you going to release a good 1080P gaming PC soon that doesn’t require a gpu that is as rare (and pricey) as hens teeth?

    • +1

Every 1080P card is as rare as rocking horse 💩 right now due to mining and supply shortages. So, not until they become available again

  • +1

i ordered the i10+3070 one on 27th Feb, god bless me to get it by NEXT FRIDAY

    • damn your waiting 4 weeks?

      • still 'in processing' today. almost 5 weeks. and the worse thing is, they don't reply the email now.

  • Hey @luketechfast, I'd asked a similar question via PM previously, but thought I'd see if anyone else here was curious: How do your sales on your eBay store and your Catch Marketplace store compare to direct sales channels like on OzBargain?

    I ask because:

    1) I have already capitalised on eBay's vouchers, and

    2) I ALSO have some discounted Catch vouchers that are as yet unused

    3) The one-week delivery timeframe I got was an incredibly good experience!!

I'm aware eBay charges an arm and a leg for seller fees, and I assume potentially the same for Catch - but if eBay is sponsoring these discounts like the recent 15% tech one I used, then I'd likely keep going that route (which also benefits when claiming GST on the full/pre-discount value for work PCs).

    • I don't remember seeing this query through PM sorry. We don't participate in any co-funded promotions through eBay, the fees are just too prohibitive.

  • Hi Luke,
Do you have plans for a 5600x build anytime soon?

  • Hope there is a deal in April too.

  • How are the 3080 builds from january going?

  • What kind of wait period are we looking at? I would like to go for 3070 one but if the wait is too long I would rather get GT 710
