Don't you need a Telstra post-paid service also for at least a month? If you aren't an existing Telstra customer it isn't really worth it from my last calculation.

It's downvoted because booking a unit at JB is a risky game. They are well known for running late or pulling out altogether in preorders.

I checked yesterday and the guy at my local eb said they were doing a trade in deal for the series x. Trade in one x plus a game and get the series x for $499. Then tried to tell me it was a better deal than the original preorder. I think I’ll hold onto my one x for a while longer …

Keep your one x for two player one games with your new series x. Gamepass ultimate and digital games will let you load the same game at the same time with both on Xbox Network at the same time.
Exactly what I did. My kid and I play FN together on two screens/units. Way better than split screen.
Yeah the same Xbox One X preowned that they go on to sell for $448. It's no wonder they are so keen on console trade in deals that they only give people $250 for the trade in and then put a $198 markup on it.

And? They are in business to make money. They have plenty of overheads and a business that probably won't be around in 5 years given the move to buying games online (downloading instead of physical).
If you want more for your old box sell it yourself. Trading one in makes it easy for those that don't care about getting the maximum amount for it.
They make next to nothing on new hardware, this is well known.
Exactly my thoughts too. They have rent to pay, staff to pay, utility bills, marketing. That ain't free and it has to come from somewhere!

Touche! I don't know why everyone keeps comparing selling privately to trading at EB games. They are a business. Businesses exist to make money. They have overheads, not to mention taking the risk of buying a used console from someone they don't know.
I mean the pre-order trade in I managed to give them my One X for $420 credit towards my Series X preorder. Best of luck to them if they want to try and flip a pre-owned previous generation console for $499 when you can walk in and get a Series S for the same price brand new.
The pre-launch pre-order trade in deal was $399 (and that's without EB World level bonus, $329 with Level 4). That was before trading in games, accessories with double EB World bonus. Some lucky people stacked the birthday bonus on top of that.
I welcome a better trade in deal than the pre-launch pre-order deal, but $499 is too high… By the way, I paid $100 (deposit) for my Series X, rest all covered from trade-in. The guy next to me when I was doing the trade in walked out with a $900+ EB World card (I assume that's after paying for the Series X - he did trade in a big stack of games).
Considering that there is not really much games…
and the games that are out.. costing quite a lot of money and also available on PC (non exclusives)..
By the time there is more games and those games become classics ie selling at really low price
Hopefully by then amazon got lightening deals.. that sell these consoles at those insane lightening prices..

cos current SSD size is not that great considering how large the games are..
About SSD size - the high speed version IS necessary if you want to play a game at any time - But for larger (not instantly playable) storage you can use other bigger drives.
So I've got about 197 games in my library - owned/Game Pass/Gold/Ultimate/free EA Play - lucky to be playing maybe 10 at a time, from week to week.
The others could all be stored on larger storage until needed then transfer one, two or more to console or the SSD for instant play access.
No I don't have a Series X (saw the $200 deposit at EBgames on the weekend - changing branding to EBworld eventually according to their emails).
Or might wait till paid-for Ultimate gets closer to running out then do All Access from Telstra. Or win one - give it maybe another 6 months try.

I bought an Xbox One X late in its life for a good deal, so I'm fine waiting a few years for this one to be worthwhile - and in regular stock - too (especially while there's no real 'killer app' titles for it yet).
It's worthwhile already, 120fps, quick resume, FPS boost, Auto HDR and just general speed makes it worth it alone.
Yeah that quick resume is where it's at! When I have a 30 minute window to jam in some gaming that is a massive plus!
Have also tried some Ultra HD Blu ray which are nice.

In my case, I am fortunate enough to have an Xbox Series X (was actually lucky enough to receive it a few days before launch due to shipping), and a PS5 which I received on launch day. I'm not "butthurt" at all nor "hyper sensitive", I just believe that if someone can do something to help or benefit others whilst not causing any harm to others it's a positive rather than a "Negative" (vote).
Hope it helps provide a different perspective, from someone who once felt the same about it

Yep that's OzBargain these days. But if that's what the people want/accept, the that's what they'll get. I've given-up speaking-out on the non-sense. At the end of the day, it wastes about 10 seconds of my cognitive time to read and move on…but others like it. shrug
Keep an eye out for an invitation to the "UNofficial 0zB4rg4in" Discord server. I got mine about six weeks ago. No RRP bollocks and helpful stock hook-ups for harder-to-find items. And there deals that are not posted to OzBargain, like last week's killer buy on ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 3 units brokered by the resident Lenovo AU rep.

Ebgames preorder means trade in opportunity for me.
Just reading the post and thought I align some of the misunderstanding of an ebgames preorder/ trade in offer. Plus its your last change of trading in for a reasonable trade in price for those with higher ebworld before ebgames drops the trade in price again.
This preorder is only good for people who wont be using their consoles for a while and would like to trade in their old xbox1sx/ps4/slim/pro console towards the xbox series x.
Its got nothing to do with the retail preorder at $200 depending how you see it because you are allowed to tradein your console and put that trade in amount towards the deposit. Ebgames is always about trade in and reselling the preowned stuffs that is how they make most of their money.
Ranging from $125 (xb1og trade in) to $240 (xb1x trade in) stacks with ebworld.
If you can sell via fbmarkets or gumtree for more, good for you but not everyone is a good seller, or they might have bad experience with those platform or have the time to do so ebgames is the best to do it.
If you have nothing to trade or dont want to wait for the stock (….shouldnt take until June) just buy it from other retailers as they will have stock from time to time (less than a month)

I'm an Xbox guy but I don't see the point in the upgrade I don't think there's been one actual game specifically released for it
I've had my Series X since day 1 (pre-ordered direct from Microsoft) and play it almost every day. The almost instant load times, auto-HDR, HDMI 2.1 VRR and 60fps upgrades to previous gen games are amazing. I could never go back to a One X. Also the Dashboard is way snappier.

I don't think mine did. If it came with a 2 week Game Pass trial or something I can't seem to find it. I already did a $1 conversion for 3 years Game Pass Ultimate so I didn't redeem any codes.
