Hello OzBargain!

I'm back. Sorry I can't offer more than 11% off, but here you go anyway! Here are some ideas on what you can use these for. If you want to make Amiibo's, please make sure you buy NTAG215 stickers!

All products are shipped from me in Brisbane via Australia Post. Often the orders are sent in letters, so please provide a street or PO box address (no parcel locker or parcel collect addresses). As far as I can see, my prices are the lowest (except when shipped direct from overseas). If you find the same product cheaper (shipped from within Australia) let me know and I'll try beat it!

Below is a list of all products I have available, use the code OzBargain11 for an extra 11% off! Any issues/questions, please comment or send me a message at [email protected]

  • What these do?

Here are some suggestions for them. Most people I sell to use them to make Amiibo's for Animal Crossing.

We can’t all be as knowledgeable as you, JV.

    Difference between stickers and cards?

    • +4

Literally that, one is a sticker, one is a card :)

Wait… Can I NFC sticker on my elbow and then elbow people's phones to ozbargain.com.au?

    • I mean… you could give it a go?

  • OP's link is good for the What, but what about the How? How do I even use these?

    • Have a look here for some ideas. Depending on your phone, you should be able to download an app and write them from there.

  • What’s the difference between NTAG213 sand 215

    • The amount of memory it has. NTAG213 can hold 180 bytes, NTAG215 can hold 540.

and how do we program it ?

    • +1

Most new phones have NFC reader/writers in them. I use my iPhone X to write mine. I believe you can also get writers that plug into your PC, but I'd say most people use their phone.

      • True, so how do I program these or my phone ?
Supposed I plan to use this as a trigger to stop the alarm or navigate me to back home, so this would need bit of configuration.. like - on NFC contact, do this or that. What’s the app or tool for configuration?
        I hope I’m making sense.

        • +3

There are lots of apps for writing NFC tags, unfortunately I don't have an Android phone so can't personally recommend an app, but a cursory Google search has come up with this as a good app.

          • @bradenpd: Thanks mate - even I have iphone !! So I believe same app should work well ?

            • +1

@b0nd: Oh sorry, I was reading a comment about someone with an S21. My mistake. NFC Tools is the app I use on my phone.

              • @bradenpd: Ah okay - no worries
Which would work for most of the stuffs - 213, 215, 216 ? I’m looking for basic stuffs like philips hue, calling, switching on/off modes in iPhone.

                • +1

@b0nd: As long as you aren’t making Amiibo’s, get the 216’s for the most versatility.

  • Do these all support the S21?
Can you explain a bit more about the different options you have listed (213, 215, 216)?
And, what version would you recommend to an impulse buyer with no specific purpose in mind other than general tinkering/experimentation?

    Thanks

    • Hi there,

I believe the S21 has NFC functionality. I'll create a table to put in the description with the differences, give me 5. As for which one, the NTAG216 can hold the most amount of data, and I guess more is better so probably them. If you want to make Amiibo's though, you'll need NTAG215.

      Cheers!

  • Don't suppose you offer individually printed NFC cards? I've been thinking of setting up a more physical juke box with album or playlist covers printed on physical NFC cards.

    • +1

Buy the stickers and print the cards yourself. Slap stickers on the cards.

    • Got that from home assistant didn't you?

    • Unfortunately no I don’t sorry. You could probably print them at home if you have a good printer, make sure you buy cards that are suitable to be printed on.

  • are these waterproof ?

thinking of sticking these too my homebrew bottles and syncing the url to my recipe.

    • Great idea. As long as they’re stuck onto the bottle while it’s dry, you shouldn’t have a problem.

      • yeah more worried about when im cleaning and reusing the bottles.

        • I can’t say I’ve tried doing that, but I think it’d be 50/50 whether they stay on or not.

Bought it…but seriously don’t have any idea what and how to do with it. Looks I am going to learn something good.

    • Same! lol

  • Weird question, but is there a heat tolerance rating on these? Was planning to fix these to our plastic trays at work but those trays regularly go through a very large and hot dish washing machine. I was trying to track them all digitally and eliminate our ticket printing system.

    • +1

If you want to do that better look for proper rfid system, nfc has very limited range and your reader have to scan this tag in a proper way to be able to read it.
And these tags will get washed off easily in normal wash, not even hot wash.

  • @bradenpd …I have ordered and paid through PayPal last night, but didn’t received any any email confirmation yet. Is it normal or shall I be worried?

    • That does seem a bit odd. Did you receive an email from PayPal? Send me a PM and I’ll investigate further.

      • +1

Yep, Did received the confirmation from Paypal. DMed you. Thanks.

  • +3

Great website for completing a transaction and payment super fast, very speedy with paypal. Nice store design mate

    • Thank you! I'd like to take credit, but Shopify did 99.9% of the work… :)

  • Am I missing something?, cant see any options for cards, just stickers.

    • +1

Nope, I only have the stickers available. Cheers!
