Dell 27" S2721DGF QHD 144Hz (165Hz on DP) IPS Gaming Monitor $447.20 Delivered (W/ 5 Year Warranty) @ Dell eBay

930
PDLT20

Greetings everyone, noticed this last night on the Dell eBay store, seems like they've changed this offer up a bit and are now offering a variant with an additional 2 years warranty which may appeal to some.

This still works out to be cheaper than their main website, and the addtional 2 years warranty is an extra $79 usually on their website, so for an additional $49 here it seems to be good value. I haven't seen this offered separately before on their eBay store with additional warranty.

Note that there seems to be a delivery time of about 30 days or so currently, no it's not in Australia ready for shipping as of yet.

  • 5 year warranty is very good. However they will send you a refurb unit it it breaks nit a new one.

Isn't that how most warranty replacements work?

      • Dell just give you a refurb then take your faulty one.

      • +5

I dunno - my experience was my monitor was only 18 months old and they wanted to send a refurb to replace it when it got a dead pixel row. In my view this wasn't a suitable remedy, as my monitor was perfectly conditioned aside from the defect. I've bought a refurb TV and Dell before and they were definitely not up to the quality you'd expect from a new product. Consumer affairs agreed and Dell offered a full refund - so basically Australian Consumer Law doesn't agree a refurb is good enough in some cases. It's also possible Dell just didn't want to fight the regulator and gave in because of that..

      • Isn't that how most warranty replacements work?

        yes.

Though it also depends on how generous the retailer is. Amazon normally gives a full refund, which you can then use to buy a brand new unit.

Some products like RAM can't be refurbed. It's refund or new replacement.

        • 100% correct.

99% of manufacturers will give you a manufactured or refurbished unit.

Different places have different ways of doing this and different processes.

18 Months - You're effectively giving them a used unit for a dead pixel.. That is more then fair to give a unit that fully functions and tested/warranty.

If the screen was ~3 months old then yes, by all means I'd pursue a brand new replacement. You can always just ask, consumer law does cover this sometimes but there are a lot of factors.

  • I bought one of these and it's very good. Took me 3 units to get one that wasn't damaged in transport however.

When you say "damaged in trasport", how bad are we talking?

      • Damaged box

        • +1

He does unboxings for a living, so a damaged box is a deal breaker.

      • The box was obviously damaged from a sharp knock and the plastic on top of the monitor was scratched. When plugged the monitors in the first one had a thin strip of dead pixels from top to bottom, the second one had a patch of dead pixels about the size of a 5c coin, the 3rd one was all good.

    • My monitor box was had lots of black marks - probably been sliding on the warehouse floor!

On closer inspection, the screen also had a scratch and watermarks (like someone had wiped the screen)

can I use Dex mode from S21 Ultra on this one? and what accessories do I need? Thnx

  • This is a great monitor, however the lowest its been is $399 but with 3 years panel warranty.

  • Damn good price, love mine!

  • +1

Re the one month wait: the last eBay deal also had a one month wait, but I received mine in a week. I wonder if they are just being conservative with the estimates given some of the complaints in the past about delivery times.

  • Wanting to see this on dell direct.

  • Got this a few days ago from the $399 deal, no panel issues found when running a monitor test.
Huge difference going from 60hz to 165hz you will never want to use a 60hz monitor again. 1440p is great for gaming overall best 1440p monitor for the price.

  • Bought one of these from the dell refurb outlet for $409 yesterday actually

  • +3

Gaming is much more fun with this monitor and even using Windows is so much better! It's kind of life changing. So happy with it! One of my smartest purchases on here. Very good decision.

  • any chance we'll see the S3220DGF ultra cheap again soon? desperately need one for my ps5

  • Anyone experience loud creaks in the plastic casing of their monitor after shutdown?

I love the display but having it creak for an hour or two due to cool down is a) the first time I've ever had a monitor do this, and b) somewhat annoying.

In a quiet room it can be a bit jarring..

    • No I have not had the same problem you have described above

      • Thanks for your feedback on this. The fact that I"m having it suggests I might have to contact them for warranty

    • Nah, I haven't had this either. At least for now.

      • Thanks for your feedback on this. The fact that I"m having it suggests I might have to contact them for warranty.

  • Anyone know if this is g-sync compatible? If not, do you notice any screen tearing whilst gaming using an Nvidia video card?

    • +1

It is g-sync compatible (even has a little sticker on the base). Works great with g sync, haven't noticed any tearing with my 3070.

  • Thought my 2721dgf died today, had the monitor since 22 feb. The power led and back light was on but the screen is black and nothing would show even if I pressed the menu buttons. To fix this, power off monitor and unplug the cables, hold the power button for 3 secs then reconnect the monitor. I will contact Dell support shortly to find out more.

edit: I was able to vaguely see the windows login password box if I pointed a flash light directly at the screen, everywhere else was too dark to see.

  • Pulled the trigger thanks

  • Anyone got a shipping confirmation yet?

  • they need to give 5 yrs warranty on this as mine from the previous sale is already faulty after 62 days of ownership
