Picked up one of these at Big W Karrinyup yesterday (WA) for $68 down from $98 which already sounds dirt cheap! Bikes are not assembled on display, just boxes stacked up in the isle with hand written Big W sale tags.

Probably exclusive to that store. Clearing stock to make way for new models. Good deal nonetheless if you can find one.

    single speed? have fun

Meh! My arse and legs are so big that whenever I bend over I get mistaken for a race horse. Single speed only matters if your engine isn't big enough.

Single speed only matters if your engine isn't big enough.

Or if how fast you go matters at all. 1-speeds are slow on the flat, and awkward on the hills.
If that doesn't matter, you don't ride much.
Spend the extra $20 for a derailleur. Or even a 3-speed.

        • If gears mattered to me I'd ride my 2012 Giant Defy 3

Needs whitewalls, and flat black paint, and maybe a fox tail to be cool.

    • And a poker card in the spokes held on with a clothes peg…

Vroom, Vroom…. chck, chck, chck, chck, chck, chck,

  • cheers heaps bro.
will be getting up at 8am to get one if any left in the morning :)

  • Add a motor for $250 n ur good to go! Haha

Good luck and hope it works out for you - I bought a "mountain" bike from BigW last year - the quality was rubbish with gear cogs breaking and the chain forever coming off - fortunately they took it back without any issues. They definitely build these bikes to a price point

Which one? The Diamondback looked decent. But you can't expect a $99 bike to last long.

    None on the gold coast

  • At that price you could buy it, ride it to cronulla beach and walk home.

I hope you whoever buys this lives in a flat area.

Why? I have no problems with single speeds!

  • Wow, that's quite a big frame… 26 inch.
Best wishes for those who decide to buy.

    • Obviously not a mad cyclist :)

Big-W etc don't know anything about bikes either.
If you want to use metric, a 26" wheel is 559mm, not 66cm.
Use their assembly service and you might get the forks on backwards.
