  • I am booked in tuesday.

Probably with your post they will shut down all gift cards .
It definitely going to be a rush for the quick and the dead .
GL getting it Bud . I would have posted this after you have got your card lol :)

  • Good luck with this…
Kinda falls into the "organised redemption" T&C….
Promotions org engaged for this will pick up on the spike in redemptions…

  • Do you have to book it or do they book the test drive and contact you

  • I bet some will make a day of going from dealer to dealer test driving Jukes.

  • +1

There is no way that $100 is enough to convince me to spend half an hour dealing with car salesmen scum.

  • Shame on you people for wasting people's time.

    • -4

I'm in serious financial distress and I still agree with TruthNuke.

      • +2

        No you aren't.

    • +3

What do you mean? Nissan offered $100 gift card to anyone who takes a test drive on the Juke, how is it wasting their time by taking up their offer?

  • +1

i bought the juke, by all means go for it. it looks MUCH better in person. great all around car, very smooth, when on performance mode its really responsive really does feel like perfmormance (i drive a mercedes slk btw, this is for my wife), intelligent cruise control, 360 degree birds eye view camera, etc (st-l model)

we were all impressed, bro called it ugly too (from pictures), but when he saw in person, said its actually really good, looks different in pics.

you can really appreciate it in person. recommended.

only 2 downsides is you can height adjust passenger seat and auto stop start engine, auto hold brakes/drive mode digital functions arent remembered, u need to press the button every engine start (which is no problem as it becomes automatic process and you subconsicuoly do it as read on juke forums, already getting there)

    • +4

So you're claiming that it looks nice in person but ugly in pictures right?
Then how do you explain me driving past one on the highway and always going "Why would anyone buy one of those ugly ass cars"?

      • +2

Ha, my mum has one and every time I go around I'm like wtf were you thinking when you bought that :)

      • whose to say the car your driving is not ugly to another? each to their own

    • -3

Stop/start engines leads to more wear and tear off engine. Bad technology.

      • +1

        That is not true.

      • it is optional, you can turn it off anytime. by default its on

    • but does it have USB ports? Seems more important now days than it's function as a velocipede :)

      • yes usb port at front, and back

    • +1

I've seen it in person too and it does look a lot better. Have to laugh at the performance claims though, it's a slow dinosaur.

      • for its class its alright - but yeah nothing to brag about

      • -1

nah in performance mode youd be surprised, go test drive it and youll see. like i said it performs pretty damn good for a $38k car. its almost as snappy as my merc slk in all honesty

        • er, PDrive measured it at 11.6 seconds to the 100km/h sprint. Explain that.

          • @adrianhughes1998: ah sorry for the confusion, i was speaking in terms of snappiness and responsivemess in sport mode when you hit the pedal, not a 100km sprint, course it cant compare to other models in a 100km acceleration sprint

  • -1

Man I'd pay $100 not to have to talk to a car salesman

    • +1

You don't get it . Its a game for those with balls to act and defeat the salesman and score $100 for the few mins it may be in play :)

  • yea na ill be right. ive never been to a dealership so $100 isnt going to make me want to either. all modern cars suck anyways

  • after you get the code can you book online?
and if you book online when do you know when they have an appointment? will they call/email?

  • TBH. The current Juke looks okay, and 1.0T is good for daily commute.

  • Irony is if Nissan replaced the Juke with the Kicks like they did in Japan, SEA, USA ect.
Then atleast that car would be a bit more desirable as it comes in Hybrid.

  • I'm not getting any popup. Tried manually going to the website too. How are you guys getting the $100 offer?

    • +1

      turn off adblocker?

  • +6

    Is this a joke?

    "No its a Juke"

    • +1

"I'm not interested, I just came for the gift card"

"Do I look like a Juke to you?"

  • Make sure you've got your burner SIM ready to rumble.

    • -1

Not sure why the downvote. I would hate to have my weeks wasted when I could be earning income above min wage,

      • if you think car salesman earns min wage, then you're seriously out of touch with today's salarys

        • It’s called commission. Without it the wage sucks

  • +3

What advantages does this motorcar have over say, a train. Which I could also afford?

  • +2

I think this has expired? Not getting any pop up

  • Can we just pop in for the test drive or have to book in advance

  • +4

When they ask you "what did you think? " after the test drive, it would be great is someone had the balls to say "Mate I'm just here for the $100 gift card" 😂

  • Not getting pop up.. looks like i missed this

  • i didnt get a pop up?

  • +3

Received my $100 gift card - lucky i waited to test drive the new Juke as i wanted to test drive the new model a month ago (i have a current Juke). The new model's interior is amazing in my eyes, the outside is a tad less eye-catching (i prefer my current model look). The new one doesnt come with a manual transmission too so thats a major downside for me. Worth the $100 gift card tho haha

    • +1

      How was the actual drive?

The engine is such a turn off lol

      • +1

tbh the engine isnt that bad - it feels quite peppy for a small engine - at the time there was 3 people inside the car too so its totally fine i think. Handling was great, ride was less firm than my current Juke. The DCT takes some getting used to, it felt like a manual for me which was good but then it has a mind of its own as its not like a real manual.

        • +3

it felt like a manual for me which was good but then it has a mind of its own as its not like a real manual.

Never a more confusing sentence has been uttered!

          • @endolphin: Agreed. DCT is two transmissions that are manual in tandem aren't they, but acts as an automatic.

He/she must be talking about the paddle shifters.

            • @adrianhughes1998: yea - well actually i meant the transmission itself, shifts as if its like a manual shifting (i think i have been comparing the feel to CVTs thats why). The paddle shifters together with the transmission wasnt so bad, i enjoyed it more than i thought i would. HOWEVER the transmission will override the paddle shifters if you dont shift at a certain point in time - so it wont let you rev it out.

              • @MJ90s: Yeah it's automatic upshift which a lot of DCTs have which has put me off. Think it's designed so it doesn't wreck the transmission. However if I want to rev it out, I want to rev it out!

                • @adrianhughes1998: damn just when i thought i'd be able to live with a DCT if manual transmission ever get extincted, the shift paddles mean nothing then, its just a waste of a feature.

          • @endolphin: haha i've been told i make confusing remarks

  • The ugliest car gives you $100! Yes, that's a bargain :D

  • -1

Is this offer still available? It says expired when I click the OZBargain link????

    • +2

What do you think expired means? Are you new here?

  • I'm still waiting for my booking for a Sante Fe from this Velocity offer…

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/398155

    • Ha, I got that. They didn't have a demo available at the time, so just processed the 5k points. Reading this thread, the salesman probably knew and didn't want to waste their time/km's ;)

  • +3

I was lucky enough to be given a top spec model for a month to drive while waiting for another vehicle to arrive.

Nissan giving all these people $100, so they can go out and spread the word on how rubbish the car really is from their first hand driving experience, is pretty amusing.

To quote the dealer, "Here, take this demo for a month, it's not like I'm going to sell any"

On the flip side, you get $100 + the guaranteed good feeling of knowing whatever you currently drive is better than a Juke.

  • how do I get the pop up, is it just on the main website link? not getting it

    • Its expired

      • But when did it expire as there are people still posting saying they got their $100 after just test driving today?

        • Must have already booked it in

  • @EddyEagle You might as well cancel your test drive on Tues . I don't know how I predicted this falling so fast lol :)

  • +4

Just finished my test drive. Dealer was totally cool with it all. Didn’t do the hard sell, gave me the keys and I did a lap around the block and then handed them back and they said they’d submit the code so I get the $100. Feel sorry for them as it’s a slight waste of their time. But then they’ve got my details now and I haven’t driven a Nissan for ages and it was a better drive than I thought it’d be so there’s some value in it for them I guess. Cheers to OP for posting! Gonna spend my $100 on buying the crypto dip.

    • From your name I'm assuming you live in Tassie, I just booked a test drive at Hobart Nissan over the phone and asked the man if the $100 offer was still available as I didn't get any pop-up when I tried to book it online? He said he knows it was a promotion that was running last month but was not sure if still available. I'm still obviously going to go to my test drive today (and I am curious about the car), am hoping he will give me the gift card. When did you book yours? Which dealership?

      • +1

So long as you've got your voucher code you'll be fine. You need to get that in advance by registering on the Nissan website buti think they've since taken that down. Without registering there's nothing the dealer will be able to do as they need that code to confirm that you've done the test drive and then you'll be sent the gift card.

If you've booked a test drive but don't have a voucher code i'd cancel.

        • I got the email and code, do I have to call to arrange the test drive?

          • @squaredonut: That's what I did. In the email they said they'd contact me to arrange a time but who knows if/when that would have happened.

I mentioned in the call that I had a code for the deal and they were fine with that.

      • The salesman probably won't have a card to give you . The last one I was involved with it was issued by the head office , not the dealer

  • +1

This car is Nissan at its laziest. There's one engine trans option and its from $30-$38k.

For a subcompact suv. They want $30k. for a 3cyl turbo 1 litre.

NOw if it was $20k it'd be a different story. An 85kW cheapo car that you use to get to work or shops is ok imo. But not for $30k lol.

Post covid is a funny world,

  • +2

When they try the hard sell just be prepared with a deal breaker. Like it doesn't have heated foot pedals.

  • +2

Maybe this is a tip for anyone planning to have the test drive: only mention/give the voucher after you complete the test drive. I gave the voucher to the saleman after I did my test drive for both the Juke and the X-trail (which I planned to do anyway) but it seems that the saleman is not aware about this promotion. He took my voucher, went back to his manager's office, after a while he came back and said I have to return on weekend for the test drive for the voucher. I pushed back saying that is not mentioned anywhere in the T&Cs and I've booked the test by phone prior to coming in only then he said he will pass the voucher to admin to process during the weekend.

I suspect they'd turned me away had I shown them the voucher before the test.

    • Yea that's a good tip, they probably realised that you were only here for the money lol

  • +1

I just called the local dealer in VIC and that guy was like the deal has expired and you wont get the $100 gift card as it has already expired.

I told him that I already got the voucher before the deal expired and he was like yeah that was not from NISSAN.

Is he trying to bluff me?

  • +1

Same here, I call this morning at Werribee dealer (vic) and try to book it. The guy sayid it's fake advertising on OzBargain. I told him I got code from Nissan Australia website not from OzBargain still he refuse it. I can tell he is bluffing with me? Fake salesman…

    • omg! So what are you planning to do?

      • -2

It look like you are the fake salesman.

        • mate i posted the same story above you, Im in the same spot as you. Just want to exchange tactics :/

        • +1

          Lol wtf??

          grabs popcorn

    • dunno seems you just missed out / nissan australia canned the promo

      • I think all the staff did all the test drives to get the free money!!

    • When I went online it only showed me a list of participating dealers - it should've made you select when you submitted the form?

      • did it on my mobile and received the code but list of participating dealers was empty :-(

  • +1

Do you actually need to drive the car for it to count? Or can I sit in it and play with the stereo for 20 minutes.

  • +1

I went to Suttons Homebush Nissan, the sales told me they don't do this, they don't know how to input the code.

I requested Nissan to delete my personal information..
