@mizirtrox: Then shouldn't be an issue just let them take that, get $400 off and keep your old phone.

      • Howdy! What do you mean by "clear system cache"?

  • Anyone received order confirmation??? I ordered an hr ago and my order is under review….

  • Received order confirmation in email after 10 minutes. Previously said cart empty after ordering and no orders placed in my samsung account.

  • +1

For those waiting for the $50 voucher, try an @outlook.com email address, worked straight away for me

    • which site did you register on

      • +2

just on samsung.com/au/ there was a pop up down the bottom saying $50 sign up bonus. Try running it in incognito.

        • +1

thanks for this… glad to have found the link for the newsletter signup… but it didnt come through immediately with outlook for me

    • +1

      Didn't work for me.

  • how to cancel trade in device sending to samsung.

    • +1

      Don't send it in?

      • and they will deduct 15 dollars ?

        • Yep, they'll deduct the trade-in value. In my case, it's 15 bucks too.

        • I think so, I am on the same boat. Not keen to trade in my phone for $15, happy to keep it with me

      • after getting the product ? or before.

        • After getting the instruction email to return the old device.

    • -1

I found this on the FAQs. I think you will be charged full retail amount if you don't send in your device.

What if I change my mind about the trade-in before I ship it to Samsung?

If you decide after you make your purchase that you do not want to trade in your old device, keep it, and we will charge your payment account for the trade-in credit applied to your new phone purchase.

Approximately 15 days after the date you receive your new device, we will charge you for the full retail price of the Galaxy device you purchased. We will charge the same payment method as your initial order. If you do not have sufficient credit available on the account you used when you placed your order, Samsung will contact you. You must provide an alternate payment method.

      • +7

I received reply from Asurion today. Can confirm it's only the value of the old device.

Thanks for your query. If you wish to not return your old device, you will only be charged the amount that you were offered for your old device and it will no longer be a requirement to return the old device to us. Any promotion offer will still remain as it is. Hope that information was helpful.

You will be charged automatically. Unfortunately, we do not have the exact time frame of when you will be charged. But please keep the funds ready in your account to avoid any confusion. Please ignore any automated e-mails till then.

Ok sweet, thanks for this. I should be all good then to get this deal with my s9 and not have to send it in

          • @mizirtrox: Do you mind sharing the screenshot of the invoice showing the price please? You can PM me. I don't need your credit card details, etc

            • @double_J: I saw your other comment on wanting screenshot of an s21 invoice. I'm thinking of purchasing the s21+ instead sorry :( but good luck!

        • do you have to tell them you are not send it back for whatever reason?
or just not send it back without contacting them first?

          • @pinkybrain: I told them that my old device is needed to replace my son's phone, which is true actually. :)

        • order placed will email and see what happens

          • @s313: I sent the email when I have received the return instruction.

            • @double_J: @double_j i havent received yet.
              only order confirmation email

Hmm anyone getting this error after putting in the trade in code for your old phone?
"Sorry, due to an error, trade-in service is unavailable at the moment"

    • +1

Same issue here.. Cant find a solution.. putting your CC doesn't work for me either as it's saying card verification failed.. Cant get around it

    • +1

You have to put in your credit card details when you click online store

    • +1

It's usually because you haven't entered your CC info.

  • +1

Pulled the trigger without the $50. Will probably end up with 3 x $50 in about 20 mins.

  • +1

If you have bought the S21 5G 128GB White or any color (with the current $1,099 price) and used Samsung S9+ device to trade up, could you please kindly share a screenshot of the total invoice and PM me as I want to claim price warranty scheme from my credit card? TIA

    • Trade up isn't normal reduced sale

      • I bought the trade up phone on 29 April when the phone price was $1,249 and now it's reduced to $1,099. Both are still within trade up area, I only want to get the screenshot to show the price difference to my credit card to claim the price difference (price protection warranty).

  • I'm waiting on $50 newsletter coupon to hit my inbox, is there a likelihood that this deal could expire in mean time?

    • +3

Apparently the "flash sale" on these will last until the end of May, according to live chat. The trade in bonus deal offer ends on 27/05. The $200 off voucher apparently expires in 7 days from the issue date.

      Hope this helps.

      • Ta. I had no luck on $200 voucher, but it's still a convincing discount for me to pull the trigger.

    • In my experience, if you don't get the $50 voucher pretty much straight away, it isn't coming.

      • Thanks, I'll try a couple of other email addresses. If not then will still pull trigger.

  • I am wondering if you need to send charger when trade-in or just the phone?

    • Just the phone. Nothing else.

      • Thanks

  • What is up with all the people asking for invoice screenshots?

    • Claim the price difference to our credit card. Some credit card has price guarantee protection.

    • So they can use them to get price protection refunds.

    • yeah it is for price protection

If anyone has screenshot of the checkout price of their s21 128gb phantom violet they can post
      it would be much appreciated.

    • +3

Just to clarify, we're not asking for invoice screenshots. Just a screenshot of the checkout screen with the discounts applied.

      • is there any difference?
can people just blurred out any address details and their name of the invoice etc?

BTW can an invoice of another person be used for price protection?
provided that they blurred out all the personal details - name, address, credit card details etc. or need to be of the checkout screen price?

Many people would have ordered already before they saw these requests for screenshots

  • Any one got $50 sign up voucher? I have tried 4 emails with different domain, and none of them receive the code.

    • Not me either

    • If you email them and say you didn't get the code they'll send you one. They only respond during business hours.

      • I have emailed them this morning but no response.

  • Which one of these have dual sim?

    • All of them have 1 physical sim and 1 e-sim.

      • So all of them can have 2 sims on the phone? And both 5G? Thank you!

  • Tempting deal but not sure if I should trade in my S10+ for the S21 as seems to have a smaller battery, less ppi and no SD slot (not that it matters to me). Anyone else with an S10+ on the same boat?

    • You forgot about the 3.5mm headphone jack.

    • +1

I went from S9+ to S21 yesterday, and i'm not happy with how much smaller the S21 is. I wish i went 21+ or Ultra.

    • You'd at least get a S21+ if you've had a plus in the past. It's worth it for the extra battery life. Personally the lower ppi makes no difference to me, and I came from a S9 with crazy high res.

    • Get an Ultra. Battery is WAY better compared to S10+

  • Thanks for myself s21 for $449.

  • Looking for clarification, are you actually required to send in the old phone?

    • +1

      read the T&Cs

      • +1

Only after a yes or no from someone that knows the answer.

        • +1

No one knows for sure. Some people have read the T&Cs and have convinced themselves that they don't need to send the device back. Others don't see it that way. The fact is that it's not clear cut. That's why you have to make your own call.

          • @wombat81: Alright I had quick read, seems you'll get charged if you don't send it back. So basically the answer is yes, you are required to send it in.

Copy and paste for anyone who can't be bothered finding the answer:

5.5 Within seven days after the date on which You receive Your New Samsung Device, You must

            • @MiscOzB: You'll get charged for the trade in amount offered when you told them you'd be sending in the phone. That much is obvious and that's all the text you quoted is saying.

What people thought you meant is whether you'll get lose the $400 trade in bonus if you don't send in the phone. That bit is up to interpretation but the overwhelming evidence points towards no, you won't.

              • @axel32:

That bit is up to interpretation but the overwhelming evidence points towards no, you won't.

So why wouldn't they charge you the trade in bonus too? What evidence?

                • +2

@MiscOzB: please read the previous page, this has been covered with evidence from the company collecting the trade in phones

                • +1

@MiscOzB: The people you send the phone to are a different company, not Samsung. Evidence mainly consists of people not sending in their phones (or sending in phones that were rejected) last time such a deal was posted and only being charged the trade in amount and not being made to pay back the trade in bonus by Samsung.

Of course nothing guarantees that this will not change in the future or that you won't get unlucky if you choose to play that game.

                  • @axel32: You won't be unlucky and there is no game to play.

The company has already replied answering this question posted earlier here:

                    • +1

@prxy: That is still one person's opinion though, not an official statement from Samsung or even the trade in company. Some people have posted chat experts from Samsung live chat saying claiming the contrary (check the Whirlpool thread for an example). Of course the Samsung reps also claim the codes aren't stackable, so nothing any individual says over chat/email can be taken as 100% fact.

I don't want to turn into wombat v2.0, as i said the evidence overwhelmingly points to any risk being minimal, just not zero. And that will be the case until such a time that Samsung officially addresses it or updates their T&C's to spell it out, which i doubt they will ever do, since lets face it people are taking advantage of the offer in a way in which it wasn't intended.

                      • -1

@axel32: That is a representative of the company doing the trade-ins. So everyone has that to fall back to. It's not like some random persons opinion.

                        • +2

@prxy: A guy posted on Whirlpool today that Samsung (not asurion) have advised him they will be charging back the trade in bonus. No doubt I'll get down voted to hell again, but asurion can say what they want, the trade in bonus is Samsung's money, not asurions. So it doesn't matter what asurion say.

So it is a risk and people need to make their own decision. Don't rely on an ozb legal expert to make the decision for you.

  • Thanks Op! Ordered nearly 3 hrs ago and status is "Waiting for Approval". Saw this was happening for some people in the S20 FE deal but not sure if their orders went through in the end?

    • +1

Im in the same boat, I did see this comment, which I might follow if it doesn't progress

      • I tried calling them and he said order is all good and waiting for the system to refresh……….hmm. Said it could take up to 10 days to deliver even with express (to Melb metro)?

        • Yeah I’ll just play the waiting game too I guess

        • System to refresh huh, that's weird. Mine's stuck on that status too, though I only ordered an hour ago.

At least he said it was all good, you got the $400+$200+$50 off too?

          • @Tir: Yep, minus also the handset trade-in for my S9+

            • +1

@noisuf: FYI I ended up calling, she couldn't do it herself but said it should get processed "soon". Apparently the order is being verified for my security(?) or something. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

              • @Tir: stuff the security, got the payment, send it on. lol

              • @Tir: Hope yours has progressed. I called again this morning and after chatting, it got confirmed and just now has moved to "Preparing to dispatch". Call again if yours hasn't progressed. ;)

        • Any updates on your order? Mine has been stuck in the approval phase for 12 hours now.

      • @silentkeepcup @noisuf in the same boat as well - has been close to 7-8 hours now. Wonder what's up. Have your orders cleared?

        • Mine's going on 12 hours now, did yours end up clearing?

          • @axel32: Nope, wonder what the hold up is =/ Dropped them a message but they just say the order is being processed and to wait for a further update.

            • @fabulatuaest: Yep i didn't get anywhere when calling them either. Pretty annoying, most people are getting theirs the next day and we are sitting in limbo with no-one able to help or tell us how long it will take..

              • +1

@axel32: Came on to update - just received my order confirmation so I'm guessing yours should be coming through soon!

                • +1

@fabulatuaest: Yep, just got mine too!

                  • @axel32: Same here…..it's now moved to "preparing for dispatch"!!! :)

    • 3 hours? That's long but yeah it varies. At one point my order just disappeared. Can't even search it as I was getting an error (invalid order number)

      • That's crap, did you get your order back?

        • +1

Yup it is now preparing dispatch

  • I have just made a purchase and it said it was express shipping, i've got my order confirmation.
Has anyone received any other communication to track shipping yet?
