@cinogirl: Guys.. Restart your phones, reinstall the trade in app, do the test.. Then go to provide your cc details in one go.. Follow similar process for 2-3 times

                  •

@open4highway: Thanks mate, restarting the phone and then reinstalling app worked. It's silly that you have to do all that including the CC thing in one go.

    •

Were you able to fix this issue mate?

  •

anyone know if I cancel my previous order, can I reuse the voucher codes for my new order?

    •

      Don’t think so

    •

      not allowed, tried.

Samsung really having such a hard time selling their flagships? Second best deal after the $500 bonus a month or two back, good find OP.

    • +1 vote

      Maybe lack of SD-Card???

      •

Yes could be, but apple has never allowed sd card support on any of their phones and we see no drastic decline in their sales.

I think samsung has sold s21 like crazy already with these discounts and they just don't want to stop there. All these discounts could be one of thier many plans to get on top and never look back. This seems to be working for them and thier customers too.

        •

Can't compare Apple users with Android users. SD-Card support is a big part of why some people choose Android over Apple like me.

And why I chose the S20FE deal over this.

I was actually thinking the opposite. That S21 sales were maybe bad and that's the reason why such heavy discounting??

If sales are good why need to discount the phone?

    •

No, their S21 line is their best selling flagship in ages.

  • +2 votes

Has anyone confirmed if Samsung is clawing back the bonus voucher if the traded in phone is not returned?

    •

I think the deal is you'll just get charged trade in value if the phone isn't returned. Which for me is only $35 so I'll let them charge me that then sell it privately for more :)

  • +2 votes

Probably skipping this generation as tempting as this is.

  •

  •

I got the s21 this morning from here for $414

    $85 s9 trade in
    $300 Bonus trade in
    $150 loyalty discount

Forgot to add the $50 newsletter discount - spewing

However, yesterday paid $599 for the 20 FE 5g for the Mrs using both loyalty discount and newsletter voucher. I regret that as i could have traded her A71 and got a similar price to what i paid today.

    Overall - happy days - just over 1k for S20 FE 5g + S21 5g

    •

Hey what's this $150 loyalty discount?

      •

Get on the chat and ask for it

        •

          del

    •

I'm actually happier getting the s20FE deal as I need sdcard support but congrats on some great purchases!

    •

Yeah, I got $599 S20fe5g, did not pull the trigger for S21 on previous deal - as no SD and worse camera. but for $500… maybe a better value.

      happy days still.. :-)

  •

Struggling to get a chat agent right now

    •

Same, looking to get $50 refund as i forgot to add the newsletter discount

      •

Timed out twice but finally got onto someone after another 15 minute wait

  •

Would anyone please be able to provide a screenshot of the checkout with a black and a silver S21+ 128GB (individually)? Hoping to price protect as well but unable to get through the chat bot. Thank you!!

      •

even hard to get in the samsung people now.

    •

      +1 Appreciate it.

Is anyone actually going to send in their device or are people just accepting the device not returned price, think forking up the $60 and keeping my s9 is a bit more worth it

    • +4 votes

How's the device not returned policy work, do you get to keep the bonus trade in value or something, but then get charged $60?

      •

lol been asking this on every thread… seems everyone who got their phones stopped looking at s21 deals (obviously)

  •

is anyone else waiting a long time to receive the newsletter voucher?

    • +1 vote

Sadly, almost everyone. I tried weeks ago on 3 email addresses and got nothing

      • +1 vote

        Same here…

      •

just get on live chat and tell them it didn't arrive, they'll send you one.

  •

Does everyone need this or are they caught up in the OB moment and compelled to buy??

    • +1 vote

I've been caught up in the deal, but if you're not are you even a true ozbargainer

    •

      the truth is never clear-cut

  •

I would also like to request a screenshot of the price at checkout for the Samsung s21 black please to request price protection. Thanks in advance.

  •

The live chats are unavailable currently!! I feel this is getting ozbargained haha

  •

Where is the newsletter signup? Not popping up for me.

Edit Opened up an incognito and went back to the website, banner appeared at the bottom.

    • +2 votes

Good luck actually receiving the email!

  • +4 votes

When you do the trade in put in that your screen is smashed or something. My trade in value came down to $30 for an s7 edge. don't return the phone and you're only charged $30 but still eligible for the $400 rebate

    •

Not a bad idea. Is this confirmed? In the T&C Etc?. Many thanks.

      • +2 votes

Read the T&C and make your own call. Many believe it's that's the case. Many disagree. What Asurion/Samsung will do is still somewhat unknown. Some reps have said the bonus won't be charged back, others have said it will.

        • +3 votes

I replied to Asurion saying I'd rather keep my S8.
Today they sent me this email,
          Hi,

Thanks for your query. If you wish to not return your old device, you will only be charged the amount that you were offered for your old device and it will no longer be a requirement to return the old device to us. Any promotion offer will still remain as it is. Hope that information was helpful.

You will be charged automatically. Unfortunately, we do not have the exact time frame of when you will be charged. But please keep the funds ready in your account to avoid any confusion. Please ignore any automated e-mails till then.

          Regards,
          Samsung trade-up team

          • +1 vote

@Awsam: You cant trust the chat reps. Others have said the opposite.

You need to read the T&C and make your own call.

            •

@wombat81: If the rep had sent them an email, wouldnt it be enough evidence that the promotion still stand if we decide to keep the phone

          •

@Awsam: do you have their email address so i could send them an email to clarify this? just wanting email evidence/confirmation that the $400 remains if we decide to keep the phone :)

      •

i did it last week and havent had an issue so far

    • +2 votes

How does this work? I've tried with an S7 edge, Pixel 4 xl and Note8. They all become ineligible when I say yes to having a crack.

      •

        Same.

      •

They want devices in good condition. Cracks make them ineligible.

      •

        SAME!!

      •

        try s10 plus

  • +1 vote

So if I return the S21 and still eligible to re trade the same device to buy the S21 again?

    •

And if so, how many times you can do this?

  •

anyone having a issue with the trade in app, after entering the imei, I get to your trade in value is $5 but won't take me to the next step to get the code, cant get passed that screen

    • +2 votes

There has been discussion about this on other threads. I think the button is off the bottom of the screen or something, on some devices? From memory you can reduce the general text size or something, in the main settings, and then you can see the button? Something like that anyway.

      • +1 vote

legend, that did't work but under noticed another option below text size, "Display Zoom" changed that from zoomed to standard & it worked, thanks

        • +2 votes

Ahh yeah, that was it. Knew it was something like that.

  •

I'm still getting emails from the trade-in company that they havent received my phones even though tracking proves that they have received them on the 4th of May. I have sent them multiple emails. Only once they replied. Based on previous comments on older posts, looks like the trade-in company can be a bit dodgy and people have had to do chargebacks.

  •

Does anyone know if the Samsung Online Store exclusive colours really take 4-5 weeks to ship? Or is that the worst case scenario?

    •

That's the best case scenario actually.

  •

The site offers me $65 trade in so yeah…

    • +1 vote

      +$400 bonus… So $465.

  •

Do you guys know if trade-in ID is working?

  •

This is a very nice deal for S21 Ultra if anyone misses the last one.

  •

My S7 is not starting. How can I 'FInalise Trade In'? Please help

    • +7 votes

      Start your S7.

    •

You can't without a working device. The device needs to be working and in good condition. Sounds like yours is ineligible.

      •

Thanks wombat81. Either way, those bots were not giving $200 voucher

        •

Did you tell them your S7 was broken and you want to upgrade? Sometimes that does the trick.

          •

@wombat81: No, I mentioned that battery is dead and staff was going to find out about it. Then the chat crashed and never got connected.

            • +1 vote

@akd: Ahh ok. Probably worth trying again. They're generally pretty happy to give them out if you genuinely want/need to upgrade and are nice about it.

            •

@akd: That's what I did and got the voucher straight away. I said that want to buy S21 and my old S7 battery needs replacement.

  •

Hi, so cracked screen can not be traded in/up? I've got a note 10 with small crack at the right top corner.

    • +1 vote

Just say the screen is not crack, and then just don't turn in the device. Or better yet, sell me your Note10 for the trade in price :D

  •

For anyone that's ordered, did you get the order confirmation straight away? I'm a bit confused as to whether my order went through as after I paid through paypal, it took me back to a blank cart on the Samsung website, but I see money has come out of my account…only been 10 mins but no order confirm yet in email.

    •

same.. after order - it showed me blank cart screen. money is out of CC, but no order in email/account

    •

      having the same issue

      •

any one able to chat them and ask.. ? am still waiting for agent to start chat

        • +2 votes

I had the same issue - called them on 1300362603. My order went through and I will receive an invoice in 2hrs. Assume it's the same with all of you!

          •

            @mybargain007: thx for update mate..

          •

@mybargain007: Were you able to stack the discounts (ie $400 trade in + 200 discount voucher + $50 newsletter sign-up voucher) when you phoned them? Or did you do the order online and then just phone for a confirmation? Thanks.

  •

Could anyone post screenshot of the S21 5G 128gb at reduced price please? I want to claim the price protection from my credit card. Thank you

  •

Oops, can't use the Trade-up as I have a cracked S8 back glass and an internal crack on the screen :(

    •

Welcome to the cracked screen gang. 1 drop = missing out on a $400 discount :((

    • +1 vote

If you can pass the device tests (microphone, speaker, lock, bluetooth, wifi, touch) but (profanity) up at declaring your cracked screen:
      - Reset the app (reinstalling, though I had to clear system cache)
      - Rerun the test
      - Declare in perfect condition
      - Acquire code

Just don't send your device in and pay the trade in cost as well (however much the S8 is evaluated at).

The app definitely ain't got a way to test the cracked back, and in my case, my cracked front worked fine still so I could pass the touch tests.

      •

I found this on the FAQs. I think you will be charged full retail amount if you don't send in your device.
        https://www.samsung.com/us/trade-in/frequently-asked-questio...

What if I change my mind about the trade-in before I ship it to Samsung?

If you decide after you make your purchase that you do not want to trade in your old device, keep it, and we will charge your payment account for the trade-in credit applied to your new phone purchase.

Approximately 15 days after the date you receive your new device, we will charge you for the full retail price of the Galaxy device you purchased. We will charge the same payment method as your initial order. If you do not have sufficient credit available on the account you used when you placed your order, Samsung will contact you. You must provide an alternate payment method.

        • +2 votes

This deal has been going on for some time and everyone who decided not to send their phone in has not been charged. There's also been communication from Asurion that you will only be charged for the device trade-in value and not the $400 bonus.

        •

Is the trade-in credit the $400 or the money they give you for your old phone though?

          •

@prxy: Trade in credit is the money they give you for your old phone
