PPSS100

'nough said about this PSU. Popular here on OzB.

With frequent deal coming up, looks like they are making way for the new 2021 model.

Still, a very good unit.

Enjoy the deal :)

Just want to stop going through: but this doesn't have modern standby. It's only a PSU and not that expensive. I just don't see why modern standby is super important for desktop.

Modern Standby is currently available on laptops and some NUCs. If you loved it so much and you are buying a PSU for a future system (or you want to get a PSU for a future system), then ideally you should wait for the 2021 model (or if you must get one here now, I guess you could consider RM). Honestly, if you loved it so much, you should try it out now (either get a laptop or get a NUC that supports it).

However, please don't sell modern standby as a game changer. Also, don't forget, for desktop, even for systems that will support it is likely to default to S3 and you need to change it right away. Furthermore, it is unsafe to switch between the two modes. Generally, you should re-install Windows 10.

For people just after a bargain and happy with the price for using it with an existing system without modern standby, this is fine.

Future proofing doesn't really make sense as RMx (2021) model is now the one to get instead of RM (2019) so within 2 years, a better option is on its way. Also, read up on issues where laptop users are complaining about modern standby. People are unhappy about modern standby on AC mode so that would apply to desktop as well.

    • thanks for the info. im a noob here and have no knowledge on this. Hence, omiting this part. But just enjoy a good price on good PSU.

Also, pls try not to argue with Jasswolf. Im tired of reading lol

      • Same, but that didn't stop them DM'ing me

The only thing I would expect to make a real impact on power consumption is ATX12VO or getting a more efficient unit. Modern standby sounds like it would only be useful for a small subset of people.
