Make sure you check through a review before committing to this approach, as the power consumption, product weight, viewing angle and sterescopic effects of this approach are not ideal.

It's chasing deeper blacks at the expense of everything else, and I'd expect entry level 65" OLED to approach this price point later this year (via the A1 and equivalent models).

      LMAO

    • You mean end of “decade” bruh?

      • -1

        I didn't say hit the price point… $1700ish.

Worth the price premium over what this does.

        • i'd do a john mcafee if it goes down to $1700

          • @Halc: Was an equivalent $2000 AUD in US for the 65BX on clearance, and we've traditionally had lower prices, at least until retailers didn't bother to try and keep up with Covid demand.

If it swings back the other way - and that's a production ramp decision that hasn't been made yet by LG - expect new all-time lows in AU no matter what.

            • @jasswolf: well i hope you are right i'm in the market for one, so far haven't seen the BX come down below $2300 odd for the 65in. I'd gladly eat my appendage for sub <1700 BX…

  • Bought it start of the year, stopped displaying picture within 12 hours. Incredible picture quality though. Those 12 hours were glorious (better picture quality than x900h)

How was the aftersales? Did they replace it? I thought they had like a 3 year warranty
Doesn't sound like it by your comment…

I bought it from Harvey, they didn't have any more in stock so had to take Sony X900h instead of it.

Also it’s rather heavy with the sub.

    • Even without the sub.

I’m the guy who wrote a lengthy review of my experience on JB website under this product.

I had over 24h to try this before returning and getting a LG CX. I replaced a 5 year old Sony with this at the time, Sony I replaced was kd65x8500d, an old style LCD without local dimming or anything fancy.

Comparing the initial experience and picture quality I saw side by side with 5 year old Sony, this wasn’t worth the money and headache of reinforcing my wall brackets to hold this 38kg monstrosity. Specially when displaying dark scenes (not exactly black but dark). I was seeing so many artefacts which you cannot unsee once you notice them.

Anyway, this current price may look like a bargain but I personally feel you will find better overall product if you go with even a cheapest Sony for example. Main headache for me was artefacts and the way TV rendered grayish/dark scenes which was so bad that anything else it did good wasn’t worth it. So if I had to think about buying this again at a 50% discount ($2650 I paid at the time), I still would give this a pass.

    Cheers

Had a 65SX since their release. It replaced a faulty OLED. Luv it. No issues, great picture, great audio and unbelievable prices ATM. How can you go wrong? (I’m sure someone here will tell us)

So many contrasting (pardon the pun) user reviews on this TV, people either love it or hate it. Wish there was a 75inch model

    • Agreed.
Hard to commit with the varying reviews and really want a 75"

  • seems like a good deal

Maybe inconsistent manufacturing leads to some people getting amazing sets while others get duds. Maybe not worth the risk unless you dont care too much about black levels.

  • I purchased this TV on Friday from the retail store. Was really excited as I checked it out in store and looked amazing!
That night I noticed the massive artifacting that people were talking about.

Just been in store getting a store credit and swapping it out for a C1 OLED instead. Great customer service from The Good Guys!

Here's a quick video I took showcasing the issue. https://youtu.be/xSIcna3Hmbw
