Dell 27’’ S2719DC USB-C Ultrathin Monitor $489.29 (Was $698.99) Delivered @ Dell Australia

140

Not as cheap as some previous deals on this monitor but still a handy saving. This is more of a WFH business grade monitor with USB-C for charging and video. This has two advantages in that you can run dual monitors via USB-C and HDMI and also charge your laptop (check specs) saving a power plug/brick behind your desk. One cable for docking to the monitor as well. Regarding charging, my work HP is fine my Dell G3 gaming did not work due to the USB-C not providing sufficient wattage so YMMV. I received mine last week and am very happy with it for reading documents and emails all day.

This is my first deal so any feedback appreciated!

Just a note, cannot be VESA mounted for those who uses arms and brackets

Beautifully thin. But I want VESA on any monitor I buy just in case.

    • Also it doesn't have any height adjustment on the stand which is a bit cheap for a normally $700-00 monitor.

I have the Dell 27’’ S2719DC, and yes you can adjust the height on the stand. Are you sure you are comparing the same model?

        • The stand is a fixed cast aluminum part, maybe you have an older version, in the photos in the link you can see the stand is fixed.

  • Pretty bad selection of ports for a monitor that supposedly costs $700.

    1 x HDMI 2.0 with HDCP 2.2 (combine HDMI 1.4 with HDCP 1.4)
    2 x USB 3.0 downstream port
1 x Analog 2.0 audio line out (3.5 mm jack)
1 x USB Type-C (Alternate mode with DisplayPort 1.2, USB 3.1 upstream port, Power Delivery PD up to 45 W)

HDR doesnt work on USB C either.

Got it this week from Amazon for $454

  • It's a 2K monitor.

    • 2.5k in fact. Still not sharp enough for this size. After living with 4K monitors (27”) for a while, I find anything less than that is unusable now - at least for my eyes.

      • What would you suggest for a 4k monitor ?

  • 2k 60hz for this price, USB-C tax in full force

    • Its a HDR600 panel so theres a bit more to it. And it looks beautiful.

      • Apparently HDR is only available via HDMI, can't get it through USB-C… oh well.

        • Yep. Kinda sucks if you wanted a single cable setup but I just use it as a normal monitor now anyways…

I've had this monitor for quite sometime and it's been great for the most part.

One odditiy is that FreeSync and HDR only works over HDMI. On the plus side it's very bright at 600 nits and really thin.

For everyone complaining about the lack of VESA mount, I doubt that they would've been able to achieve the same thinness with a regular VESA mount stand.
