ASUS P41SV 14" Notebook + Samsung C23A550U 23" Monitor $995 (Computer Alliance)

30

They state this is a $629 saving but staticice shows I could buy the two separately from other retailers for about $100 more without the 8GB RAM which is what makes it more of a bargain IMHO.
Not sure about shipping costs, if rep is watching or someone knows then please comment - if free shipping then this is an even better bargain.

See http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/61932 for a discussion on the laptop which is (?was) $795 by itself - I bought one and it's a fairly solid laptop.

What is the point on buying a laptop and a 23" monitor together and why not including a coffee machine too so to make this advertising even more expensive?

maybe the phrase 'desktop replacement' comes to mind? the cpu and gpu are good enough for most average pc users, except maybe hardcore gamers

  • It says it's out of stock.

    • Yeah, I think it's just their way of making sure people only get it who know about the sale: that's what it was last week too (when just the laptop), but when I rang them they said it was in stock & just to order.
Bit weird in my mind, but…

'desktop replacement' should come with keyboard and mouse, usually should use docking something for most convenience.
and why spend $300 bugs for a 23"? $200 can get a 23" IPS is much much better not only cheaper.

    • No wait, this monitor is designed to work with this netbook…..
