Yeah it is, but not having the colours on the A B X Y buttons was a dealbreaker for me.

  • Thanks OP!

Catch latitude pay is over right? The red one was $64 with latitude pay when i got it the other day.

Just a warning, the buttons are very clicky and loud, especially the D-pad. Not suitable if you dont have your own area for gaming. Big audience for clicky buttons, but the wifey won't appreciate it

    • Yea it's quite loud.

    • +1

Interesting, will have to see how we go then and may need to return it if it's too loud. Out if curiosity, is it all Series X controllers that are loud? Or just these special coloured ones?

    • Sticky triggers are my big issue with it

Last week I just ordered an Xbox Series X/S Wireless Controller carbon black w/ the USB-C cable and it was on sale for the same price, but it's out of stock now so I think I grabbed one of the last ones. I was using a ps4 controller on my PC for the longest time and got so tired of seeing onscreen tutorials using Xbox controls while using steam and a ps4 controller. Also, the xbox controller works seamlessly while using emulators when before I had to use software to emulate an xbox controller when using a dualshock.

So worthwhile? I too have been using PS4 controller with DS4windows on PC which is sometimes buggy.

      Wired better than wireless?

      • +1

Yeah, I would say it's worthwhile just for the convenience and stability. I've been using wireless and wired, only because I put some AA batteries in the controller so I could use steamlink on my Apple TV, then I just plug in the controller in my PC when not using steamlink so I don't have to deal with my PC's Bluetooth connection interfering with the Apple TV config.

        • Is it possible to buy the wireless controller (without cable) and plug in any third party USB-C cable?

          • +1

@dajackal: As long as the USB C cable is rated as a Charge & Sync of which 99% of them are then yes, any cable will do

  • I have this for PC.

It keeps disconnecting when connected via bluetooth.

Only seem to work well with Microsoft games (e.g. Forza Horizon/Motorsport, MSFS).

Games launched from other launchers (e.g. Steam, Epic) disconnects every few seconds/minutes, Metro Last Light launched from Epic Games suffers the most with disconnects every few seconds.

This is the second replacement unit too, seems to be a well known problem.

Have you tried updating your Xbox controller's firmware? There was an update published recently. You update the firmware through the Xbox accessory app that has to be downloaded through the Microsoft store.

      • Yeah I have. I've tried to find solutions to the issue but no luck. Even tried turning off power saving mode in Device Manager

The official wireless receiver (dongle) works flawlessly for me. Might be worth considering once you've exhausted your options.

      • +1

Yeah, will probably invest into the dongle. Shame that it won't work on bluetooth.

Thanks OP. Grabbed one. Just need to find a series X now to go with it!
