The price is good, but these laptops have mixed reviews.

I will upvote the price because it is the cheapest, but ultimately if you want an ultrabook, still better going the Asus (better screen + full SSD + better construction from reviews).

I would say that Acer needs these to be around the $599 mark to really be of good value…

    • Agreed, the Asus is much better - at nearly twice the price. I wish they came down a bit…

Another option I am considering is the Toshiba:

Big bonus is the 1.1kg weight compared to close to 1.4kg for both Acer and Asus. It also has SSD and lots of connectors. Only disadvantage: 128GB SSD is a bit on the small side. And it does not look anywhere near as good as the Asus.

No USB 3.0 port? No deal.

    No dedicated graphics card?

    • Which ultrabook does?

    • name really say it all they ment to be protable with losing the processing power and much lighter than standard laptop and longer lasting usage without re-charging.That is why the only use onboard gpu .

    • yeah but to be fair there are some worse than others, UMA graphics are the slowest, then comes Intel HD, and the faster ones come with 2nd gen Intel with Intel HD 3000 which is faster than some older discrete gpus but still no where near the performance of ATI 5XXX or Nvidia GT540 etc and yes, in general discrete card=higher power=less battery life! but Optimus switching is an ok compromise
