[Klarna] Ryzen CPU: 5950X $899.25, 5900X $629.25, 5800X $471.75, 5600X $321.75 (Prices after Waiver) + Delivery @ PC Case Gear

1610

As part of this deal you can get 25% off your order if you use Klarna (similar to Afterpay) and that makes these four Ryzen CPUs down to some of the lowest prices they've been. Postage appears to be $15 nationwide.

For customers to be eligible to have the 4th and final payment waived the first, second and third instalments must have been paid in full and on time. Order will show the full price through the entirety of checkout, you will receive an email afterwards saying "We've got your final payment covered"

If it were me I'd be jumping on the 5950X and 5900X as they're priced really low for a lot of power, however they're likely overkill for most people and the 5800X/5600X is more than enough for gaming.

Note: Credit check will be made.

The Prices for pccg are not accurate and misleading, either update them because it states pccg are selling those CPU's for the prices listed above(regardless what reduced cost of 3rd party discount applied)when the site states otherwise.

        • +2

How is it not accurate or misleading? The title clearly states [Klarna] and now I've updated the post to include those terms ontop of the original deal being linked. It's no different to sharing an eBay deal with a 10% code etc.

Negging a deal because you believe the title or description is not a valid reason to negative vote as per the rules. Instead please use the Report button and the moderators/power users can decide the appropriate way to format the title and description.

          • @Clear:

It's no different to sharing an eBay deal with a 10% code etc.

It absolutely is different. An eBay deal with a 10% code guarantees you that 10% off instantly.

This deal is basically a conditional cashback where if you miss a repayment they take away the reward and you get stuck paying full price.

            https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:title_guidelines

Price. May include discount or saving (e.g. “$2 off” or “half price”) if space allows. However, the price should NOT include any referral discounts or cashback (commission refunds) - include that in the deal description instead.

            • +1

@HomeAlone: This post has been reviewed by a moderator and as you can see in the edit revision the terms have been added to the bottom of the deal. The use of [Klarna] in the title and everything else is correct. If it was not correct then Hamza would have edited it further.

If you miss a repayment that's a whole different issue. Let's remind people in deals that if they're using a credit card to please ensure they pay off their card before it's due to avoid penalty. If they're using a debit card to please ensure they have enough money in their account to avoid payment being declined.

              • @Clear:

If it was not correct then Hamza would have edited it further.

I wouldn't necessarily take that as confirmation. It's kind of a unique case so it's possible it's still being discussed internally by the moderation team.

If you look at the price rule in the title guidelines and the price beat rule they are both basically saying that the guaranteed price should be in the title.

If the guaranteed price is required in those situations then why would here be any different?

                https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:deal_posting_guidelin…

Title: HP Laptop $500 at DickSmith ($475 at Officeworks via Price Beat)

You should post a deal for the ticketed/guaranteed price

                • @HomeAlone: We shall leave it for the mods to decide then.

    • +1

Not misleading because [Klarna] is right there at the start of the deal title… and people should be expected to at least ask the question "what is Klarna?" or take 15 seconds to briefly scan the OP to see that the price is based on Klarna being used as a payment method.

  • +2

That 5900X price is unreal. That's a little less than what I spent getting a 3900X last year before the huge supply shortages.

Great deal if anyone is in the market for an upgrade and have a compatible motherboard.

  • +2

Sorry, you can't use Klarna due to your credit history

Oh well, guess Ill stick with my 5600x then heh

  • I got that deal for a 5900x + motherboard at $1099 about a month ago. this hurtin

  • is it worth it to dish out that extra hundred for the 5800x over the 5600x?

    • +3

In gaming you're going to get like a 5 FPS difference for a couple more threads and cores. It also runs hotter than the 5600X.

If you're planning on doing something like video editing where more cores/threads are required it would be a good upgrade.

      • The newer console have 8 Cores, those ports probably will make a difference. There is a case where the 3700x beats the 5600X because the game is port from the latest console. Forgot what that was.

        • For sure in the future games will certainly take better advantage of 8 cores.

          • @Clear:

For sure in the future games will certainly take better advantage of 8 cores

I hope so, but be aware, when we said this for 4 cores, and then 6 cores, we were wrong by over a decade each time.

I wouldn't bet hundreds of dollars on future proofing if I were you.

            • @ItsMeAgro: p1 ama has a good summary on it below I think.

              • +1

@Clear: Definitely. but like P1 ama says, 6 is good enough for now. The next generation 6600X might beat the shit out of 5800X. I mean look at the 5600X beating my 3700X, lol. For now I wont feel the pain because I am on a GTX 1080 and 1440P and the 5600X might not help much, but once i upgrade my GPU, then the 3700X would be a bottle neck. But I dont want to upgrade anything till they flesh out all the specs on direct storage requirements etc. If I am upgrading, I will upgrade the CPU/GPU and compatible direct storage mobo.

IMO - no, you pay $150 for another 2 cores, but if you pay another $150, you get another 2 cores for the 5900X.

My opinion is that the 5600X is good for gaming and general usage, 5900X if you need the additional cores, 5950X if you absolutely must have the best of the best.

The 5600X is already extremely good - for most users, IPC and clocks are far more important than cores, and AMD has notched up their IPC and clocks extremely well over the past few generations. That makes the 5600X a genuine high-end chip. The 5900X and 5950X are basically HEDT chips with less PCIe lanes.

There's really no space for the 5800X IMO. It's a good CPU, just doesn't fit in anywhere in the market. The 5800X is expensive compared to the 5600X and 5900X because they need to have all 8 cores on one CCX working, whereas the 5600X and 5900X do not, so therefore, it might actually be a higher grade bin than the 5900X, and if yields are good and both CCXs work, then AMD are better off selling it as a 5950X. (Essentially a 5900X = 2 x 5600X, 5950X = 2 x 5800X in terms of CCX).

Spend that extra cash on the gpu, always plan out the system as a whole

  • This is gr8. I managed to get ROG Strix B550-a & 5900x for $810 delivered. Boom!

  • Worth to upgrade over 3800x?

    • +1

Not really. depending on what you do with your PC of course, if it's used for work and can be a tax deduction then depreciated, why not?

  • +1

    Sweet 5600x
I still haven’t open mine yet and it depreciated like 50$ already 🥺

  • Man, this deal being posted made me have to move quickly in fear of the 5900x selling out. Thanks for pushing me over the edge from last night's hesitancy! ;)

    • +1

Same here. Have been contemplating this deal since yesterday considering 5800X. Bought 5900X instead hoping for futureproofing.

      • +1

Good choice I reckon! I'm upgrading from my last build which was in 2010, from i7 950 to this. Actually feeling a bit sad to say goodbye to parts that have lasted me so long, but hoping I can get similar longevity out of this purchase!

  • Is the Asus Crosshair Formula worth it? I want to Build something high end but I'm hesitating on this board, what is the best value for money in the high end of the x570's these days?

    • you nearly had it right. wait for x570s

      • From (the little) information I have heard, the X570s isn't a major upgrade over the X570. By "wait" do you mean the X570S release will drive the price of the X570 down?

        • they already are going down. x570 v x570s seems to be passive heat sink on the x570s.

what is your budget? you asked for best value high end, bit of an oxymoron

you really shouldn't spend $600+ on a x570 when boards around half that are great

          • @Sheld: its is a bit yes I agree, I am happy to spend the $ on a great board, but wasn't sure the formula was worth the price tag, hence not great value for the money. I'm not up to speed on the x570's, so was wondering what the shining star in the high end, usually there is a board that has all the great features but costs less than the rest i.e. MSI boards like the MEG.

            • +1

@Butter Finger: i've had quite a few x570/B550. best i had was the x570 aorus master and the one i have now, b550 unify. both totally overkill.
X570-f seems to be reasonable value, but really the x570/b550 are quite mature now, so as long as you read up reviews and find one with what you want you cant really make a mistake.
this might help for info. https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/joo0s8/ryzen_5000…

  • i'd be careful as others have said on credit checks

    • replied to wrong comment oops

  • Is it worth it to upgrade over a 9700k? For cpu intensive games?

    • 9700K has 8 cores, I would sit on it for at least a couple of years.
You can try running a hardware monitoring tool like https://openhardwaremonitor.org/ (even Windows Task Manager has monitoring for CPU and GPU now) while you are playing to see if CPU is the bottleneck for your games. I reckon yours is fine.

      • Thanks. It's just games like AC Origins and Odyssey, where my cpu is always at 100% and have bad fps fluctuations. This is probably a one-off as those games are badly optimised.

  • Any suggestions on a X570 board to pair these CPUs with?

    • +1

ASUS TUF Gaming X570 Plus WiFi or ASUS ROG Strix X570-F (E if you need the WiFi)

  • Any extra motivation to upgrade my r 3600?
Ive only had it for around 6 months. My skin is itching lol

    • For gaming - absolutely no, you won't get much (/any) improvement.

      • That's what I thought

anyone in melbourne can buy the 5900x for me please?

    • I mean like id pay for lol

  • It hurts so much. My baby $1162 5950x :(
I bought it in MAy and have only surfed the webs since then =))

Could have waited to save $250

  • Should I get a 5900x + mobo + ram now, or wait for Intel Alder Lake to release in 3 months…

My 4790k refuses to die at a 4.8 overclock with 1.35 volts lol. Poor thing is showing its age in newer games especially VR.

    • If I was gonna wait for something, AM5 platform is out next year. If you do get this AMD chip, it will be the last CPU you ever buy without getting a new motherboard.

    • well, why buy 5900x and play games………….

      • Because running VR, streaming and discord calls at the same time is not possible on a 4790k?

  • is this Klarna deal 25% off anything at PCCG?

    • +2

Yes, as long as you cart is less than 2k total.

  • Damn, just purchased a 5900X last week with the $731 ebay deal :(

  • Has anyone successfully purchased more than 2k worth of stuff over multiple orders?
I understand Klarna might knock you down but I'm curious if the offer still applies.
    I bought a 5900x now wondering if I shouldv'e gone for the 5950x. first world problems :(

    • +1

I'm pretty sure the 25% off is limited to $2000 so you wouldn't be able to. The difference between 5900X and 5950X in gaming is going to be only a couple of FPS anyway so I wouldn't worry.

      • I spoke to Chat support, they said I will still qualify for the 25% offer even if both purchases exceed a total combined value of 2k.
But…. that's only if the klarna bot approves it, which sounds like it won't considering I'm just a new user.

Anyhow, 5900x is good enough. I do a bit of gns3 virtualisation for study but mostly just gaming nowadays.

  • This is a really nice deal although current gen CPU prices should plummet once Alder lake releases in October anyways, for those already with capable CPU's I would recommend holding off until later this year and should then find some really nice deals.

  • +3

Btw just a heads up, this promotion is actually being ended by Klarna TODAY, and you'll need to get the order in before 5PM (source: PCCG contact).

I've added the info in my deal post.

    • +1

Confirmed as well, they will be ending this promotion at 5pm today as it has officially been OZBARGAINED!

I also confirmed that multiple purchases are valid for the 25% off. If you qualify of course…

  • Just picked up 5800x and B550M Aorus Pro P for $600 and got an email from Klarna. Can anyone recommend RAM to go with it? I think you are supposed to look for 3600-3800 with CAS latency of 14-16?

  • Anyone got this message "You have reached your spending limit"?

    • Have you spent more than $2000 already?

      • nope, and it's my first order. The order cost about $1950

        • I think you have to be approved for a $2000 spending limit
