50% off Samsung Galaxy Buds Live $159 + Delivery (Free C&C) @ JB Hi-Fi

First time posting, be kind. I bought a pair, they are good - not for the audio OCD and perfectionist but they are a very excellent all rounder for day to day usage. Limit x2 per customer.

Not sure when the deal ends.

In every review the buds plus are better and cheaper than these.

    • +5

In terms of isolation and resolution, that's typically true of any earbud (Live) vs IEM (original/Plus) comparison.

Where earbuds come to the fore is timbre and soundstage, as they are to opens back headphones what IEMs are to closed backs.

In truth, out of all these options, it's the original Galaxy Buds that have the least audio quality issues, but their battery life is a fair way behind the Buds+.

The AKG N400's implementation of the same drivers fixes the Buds+ issues with sound quality and brings in ANC, while you also have the option of the Buds Pro for better treble extension and a warmer tonality.

Ultimately I agree with you for most use cases, but I think it's important to set expectations and offer an explanation that many reviewers simply don't. The Buds Live do not naturally isolate, but they offer a very interesting ANC solution to try and do just that, they are a technical marvel, trying to bring the best of everything.

Future tech will be better for it.

I have both, Buds+ and Buds Live, and I would recommend Buds+ over Buds Live with better fit, excellent for exercises and running, and with better fit Buds+ sound better. And cheaper too $135 on Amazon:

Too bad call quality isn't great with these.

    • +3

Call quality has been excellent with my Buds Live. Sound is better than those cheap BT earbuds off Banggood and better than the old wired earbuds that came with the Galaxy S9.

Been very impressed with the Buds Live and I came from the Sennheiser Momentum Free which I found not as good as the Buds Live.

They are great, you sure your using it correctly? I currently own Buds Live, Buds Pro, Wf-mx3 and Wh-xm4. Also had Buds Plus before as well. Using them on S21U.

Buds+ and Buds Pro are both better than these, definitely!

  • I had used buds plus , but accidentally i washed them away. So i went and bought buds pro. Trust me buds pro isnt a good fit and feels uncomfortable within 30 minutes of usage.

    Go for buds plus always..!!

In trend of trying something new ..Samsung has screwed the design and fit post buds plus.

I have these Buds Live, the Sony WF1000XM3, the Bose SoundSport Free, and the original Galaxy Buds. I find that I use these far more than the Sony or Bose even though they sound better.

The main reasons are the more comfortable fit for my ears, and the much smaller form factor. IEM-style ear buds like the Sony and Buds Pro etc are like wearing earplugs because that's literally what they are. The Live doesn't plug up the ear canal so I find them more comfortable over long periods of use.

That does mean the noise cancellation and deep lows won't be as good, although whether or not that's a big disadvantage depends on how and where you're using it. If you want to block out all noise on e.g. a train or plane, IEM-style ones will definitely be better. If you want to use it while walking or jogging outdoors, or in an office environment, I feel the Live is better as you won't lose situational awareness without having to fiddle with audio transparency modes.

Great feedback, I too have the same Bose SoundSport Free, I prefer Sound quality. But sounded like Buds Live is not an upgrade for me.

mic is better on buds+ too. i have issues with XM3. sound quality is definitely better on the sony though. the only thing that comes close to the samsung fit is jabra but the sound is more washed out

    • +1

Second to that. I can't stand wearing IEM-style for too long as it hurts my ear.

    • +1

I certainly agree also,. I wear my Buds Live more over my Sony WF1000XM3 Buds, I actually sleep with my Buds Live as there much more comfortable and almost flush in my ear and there not as annoying to wear as my Sony WF1000XM3 Buds are which feel like wearing ear plugs over time, why I like the Buds Live as they don't feel clogged in my ears if that's the right term, certainly love the app integration with my Note 10 plus, sound quality is great, hard too compare with my Sony WF1000XM3 Buds the Buds Live have there own great quality sound, my 2 cents anyway

Good Guys have them for $159 as well.

  • Funny came across these on eBay, cloned Galaxy Buds Live made by TWS, under $30 case and Buds and bought a pair as curious how they'd sound (I'm sure average) and not expecting much but hoping the case will work with my real Buds Live

Edit: got the Gold ones as my real ones are black
