  • I'm guessing Win 7 starter?

to save me googling it, can someone tell me what limitations there are in Win 7 starter?

To make you feel better, you can call me whatever insult you want while answering the above question and no offence will be taken :)

    • Can't change the background, or at least not easily without a registry hack or extra software.

No XP mode, just compatibly mode.

      No windows media center.

Stuff like that, but it works, I'm using it right now. I don't feel limited except for the not being able to change the background (like… what the hell microsoft)

    • Windows 7 Starter does not include:

      • Aero Glass, meaning you can only use the Windows Basic or other opaque themes. It also means you do not get Taskbar Previews or Aero Peek.
      • Personalization features for changing desktop backgrounds, window colors, or sound schemes.
      • The ability to switch between users without having to log off.
      • 64 bit version
      • Multi-monitor support.
      • DVD playback.
      • Windows Media Center for watching recorded TV or other media.
      • Remote Media Streaming for streaming your music, videos, and recorded TV from your home computer.
      • Domain support for business customers.
      • XP Mode for those that want the ability to run older Windows XP programs on Windows 7.

I use it on my netbook and its fine fro regular office work and watching shows that have been downloaded.

  • +3

    Core 2 Duo =/= D525

  • +2

Not a core2duo, expensive for an atom.

  • +3

    atom != laptop.

    • +3

never even knew they made 14" atom "laptops"

  • What is the brand? Generic no name? Plus Spec lists Atom processor not Core 2 Duo.

  • incorrect/misleading advertising

  • Unscrupulous retailer trying to pull a fast one. Yet again…

  • Terrible deal, incorrect info and defiantly not a bargain!!

  • You can get a 15" i3 with 4GB RAM and 500GB HDD for ~$40 more.

  • You could get a higher spec 15 inch lenovo before christmas with full windows 7 54 bit, 2 gig and e300 processor (similar performance) for $280 with rebate. You can get it for $330 now with rebate - http://www.orangeit.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=13…

  • This is a no-name (shanzhai) laptop that does not satisfy Intel's requirements of a netbook — Atom CPU's are supposed to be used only for netbooks with a screen panel size of 12.1" or less.

  • dodgey website = dodgey business, not even any contact details, stay away
