      does it really matter?

  • Is the vivifi the old C600W or the new C900W?

Yeah, I wouldn't touch Vivid in Perth if you paid me. Too many friends have had it here, suffered through poor signal and connection no matter which suburb or where in the house they placed it, and support quality is patchy at best.

  • It's taken me more than 12 months of patchy service and many calls to tech support to finally get them to upgrade my local tower and I am now getting a solid 7mbps in Wanneroo. Works well with the unlimited package.
I have my Home Gateway mounted on the TV antenna on the roof, inside an electrical box.

Im getting 14mbps myself. It's a matter of luck as to what tower you connect to.

  • I used them for 8 months. For the first 5 months, they were fine and I was getting ~11Mbps. Then one morning I woke to find I was only getting <1Mbps.

Called support and the monkey asked that I reposition the device at various locations throughout my house. I went along with their BS, but nothing helped. After 10+ calls, and being passed around to various support people, one told me that my device was tied not to my closest tower, but one almost near the city, many KM's away from me.

They would not modify the system, to revert back to my home tower, citing some BS that if they did so, and my tower was being serviced I would have no reception.

While they advertise their service as 'unlimited', I believe they use tower distance to regulate high volume users.

After 2+ months of screwing about, I cur the service when we bought our new house. Now I enjoy 18-20Mbps DSL, due to our close proximity to the exchange.

Don't forget, you have a 14 money back guarantee. If you're not happy just return it.

  • So what internet pkg do you get from this $99 unit? Or do you still have to pay for what you use? This is not a router which I can use with other service provider is it?

  • Just rang the shopkeeper and he said new stock just arrived.
Forgot to ask if the vivifi C600W or C900W… anybody had a clue of this?

  • It is the C600, This deal has also been extended till the 11th April.
