Lucky that Costco Ringwood is within 5km from my home. They had more than 10 in stock and they mentioned they have changed the model number of the 4 Packs to 115316.
If you guys go to other stores might able to ask them if they have the 4 packs in new model number in stock.

What has your experience been?
Somewhat mixed but I've only done a couple of tests.
I left one if my wife's car and marked it as lost when she parked on a fairly quiet street and it was located multiple times within 15 minutes.
The other one is on my dog. Sometimes when someone goes out with him to dog park I've marked it as lost and it isn't generally located until he returns home an hour or so later and is within my phone range despite the park being quite busy.
Also got my daughter to take one on an hour bike ride where she stopped at a shop and purchased something and again didn't locate it until she returned home despite going close to multiple people.

I guess the takeaway is that you shouldn't count on the crowds that they own iphones. And also that the tag itself isn't a GPS tracker.
I’ve got them on everything. Car, pushbike, keys, motorbike. Location is updated every few minutes. If anything was stolen, I’d be able to find it, no problem. Love them.

There has been recent feedback based on the latest firmware update that Airtags have become much more intrusive and annoying. False warning notifications, beeping when they shouldn't be, etc.
I've held off on buying for this exact reason and I'm glad I did. See what happens with future updates moving forward.
