    Rapturous applause..?

Is that a euphemism for a Bronx cheer?

  • +1

It says free delivery here https://www.buyaussienow.com.au/food-and-beverage/snacks/hig...
However it still charges $5, any idea OP?

    • +1

at 5 bucks that cheap shipping
i usually get jerky Co and its double the price (even on discount)
i just wanna know why is it that cheap

are they changing the packaging or something?

      • +14

        you are right.
we are taking a loss on this deal as part of our marketing spend, shipping is at least double that.

    • +18

It's $5 delivery as mentioned in description. Sorry for any confusion.

      • +2

Don't know why at least 2 people would neg this. /SMH

        • Probly cos they want free shipping hah.

  • +7

900g for $48 delivered, yeah, you got me, I'm in.

    • +20

      You son of a bitch

    • -1

      So inflated rrp then?

      • +2

Yes and no. General price for commercially prepared jerky is roughly $70+ a kg

  • +9

Around $48 - $49 per kilo (this includes the shipping price).

I think this is a fantastic price.

I know its not apples to apples, but look at the prices in a supermarket for jerky - up to $100 per kilo - and this is probably better quality.

I will give it a crack me thinks

Edit - yep bought some: Your order # is: 000005952.

    • +12

Yeah people don't realise half the weight of meat is lost when making jerky

      • +5

Totally - then you have labor, packaging costs, fees from Bundaberg Rum, website costs.

For those that like jerky (not in that way) should really jump on this deal

    • 6227!
u would expect 250 is gone buy now!

  • +2

    anyone tried this yet; reviews?

    • +4

Bought somce for my nephew for his bday with the last deal, he basically inhaled it. So I'm guessing it wasn't too terrible :p

  • Any alcohol inside???

    • None that can be traced when it's a finished product.

  • +2

    Expired date on these?

    • +8

      May and June 2022

      • -1

there is shipping address and street address, do I fill out both?

      • Thanks, ordered 2

  • Difference between Jerky and Biltong?

    • I read somewhere that they are prepared differently, correct me if I am wrong, biltong is made by drying?

    • +1

Different ways of drying the meat, different rubs too.

    • Weird that the name of this product is Biltong-Beef-Jerky. Like which is it? Biltong or Jerky?

      • -3

Never mind I just realised they are selling packs of Jerky and Biltong together. The OP is misleading because it only mentions Jerky, but there is actually more Biltong than Jerky being sold here.

      • +1

biltong usually more expensive than jerky.

    • +2

      Biltong is tastier.

    • +7

Jerky - raw meat is sliced thinly before drying.
Biltong - meat is dried in large piece then sliced thinly after drying.
Biltong is easier to slice and retains the moisture (tastier imo)

      • Great explanation, thanks, so biltong also raw meat dry?

  • Ill give this a go, do like me some jerky and some of the flavours sound reminiscent of the geronimo flavours.

    • Viking are meant to be the same to Geronimo. Have got a couple of batches and very good

      • It is the same guy from Geronimo, his new company is Viking!

  • +1

Order automatically cancelled immediately after I placed it, with an automatic support ticket lodged as well. Very suspicous.

    • +1

This happens if your card transaction fails. I entered my security code wrong :(

      • aha well that is not something I had considered. Cheers

  • +2

What is the sugar percentage of those beef jerky?

  • +8

Just buy Biltong from your local Saffa shop - usually about $65/kg and much nicer and fresher than this.

    • Closer to $75 / kilo in WA

      • Fair enough. I'm in WA and I buy mine from a guy at work who charges us $60 - I guess that's mate's rates!

Always better than this stuff though.

        • +1

Yeah, home made is always best, biltong is very easy to make, once you find a good recipe.

    • +3

Still not beef jerky. Every single time I’ve tried Biltong, it just doesn’t scratch the same itch.

      • Indeed it is not jerky, thankfully.

To me, jerky tastes more processed, often too sweet. Biltong has more flavour and a better texture. But each to their own.

  • +5

There is a 500g pack on discount for $22.50 which gives more value (a little less variety) This pack is 450g. I grabbed one of each.

    • The deal for is 450g for $26.60

      Wouldn't your above price be $22.50 plus $5 shipping = $27.50 for 500g less variety ?

Maybe 90 cents more for 50g is good

      • +1

I added on so it didn't cost an extra 5 for shipping but you've better presented for single purchase.

  • +1

Tried to pay, Card debited (pending), site went back to cart and asked to pay again. Email from buy Aussie now saying request being reviewed. Site ozbargained?

    • +1

I had order successful email, then order cancelled email, then support ticket email after I enter card details and placed order.

  • Ordered. Seems like a great price

  • +12

Slightly more meat for your buck here with the same people
    https://www.buyaussienow.com.au/half-kilo-super-pack

    • Damn I wish I saw this one…

    • thanks, ordered 1kg

  • Got 2 packs for the kids which are fussy eaters and in need of more protein. Hope they like these as they like steaks. Can't go wrong with this price.

  • +8

This is better value at 500g for $22.50 as opposed to 450g in the OP if you don't care for the Bundy Rum flavours.

    • +3

      5 flavours vs 8 though.

    • +4

Nooo why did they have to put curry flavor in. I love jerky/biltong but hate the curry flavored ones.

      • Yeah I'd rather not have the curry one either :(

        • +1

+1 they should've included pepper steak instead

        • what's wrong with the curries??

    • Damn, i bought original listing, but i want this!! :(

  • +1

    Giving it a shot.

    • Can you turn on your PM? Have you received your Athena $500 referral bonus?

  • Ordered $60 worth of jerky.
    Thanks OP!

  • -1

    300g $13.50 +$5 delivery bargain $45.10 for 900g delivered

    https://www.buyaussienow.com.au/smokin-good-value-pack

  • Thanks OP purchased.

  • Placing an order takes me back to the checkout screen with no confirmation of order…

    • Check spam folder. I found my confirm email there or you didn't fill some box in the process.

      • Turns out their email system must be struggling, I ended up getting a confirmation for my first order, then a case review and cancellation of my first order, then a confirmation of my second order and also a case review of my second order but no cancellation of that yet

  • +1

Gave it a shot. I love my jerky. For $26, it's a good gamble!

  • +1

Bought a couple of 500 gm packs. Happy to take the risk at these prices. Can't be bad than Supermarket jerky i guess :)

  • +9

Half Kilo pack for $22.50 seems good.

    *1 x 100g - Doctor Proctor's Original
    *1 x 100g - Doctor Proctor's 'Smokin' Good
    *1 x 100g - Doctor Proctor's 'Smokin' Hot Beef

    • Just saw that too and bought two :)

  • +2

  • ordered here thanks op

  • Placing order, thanks OP

  • Ordered 2 packs, thanks OP

  • Ordered x 2!!

  • Grass fed?

    • +9

Could be concrete fed for that price, and I would still eat it!

  • That's a great price. Ordered, thanks.

  • Just ordered some!

Usually grab the jerky from Aldi which is pretty good, but this is an absolute bargain.

Keen to check out the difference and support an aussie company :)

  • Thanks op

  • That's an amazing deal. Got 3 packs of the half kilo pack and 3 of the jerky bulk packs, total $137 for ~3kg worth of biltong and jerky, which comes down to ~$45/kg
