This is not the cheapest ever (its similar to a deal from TGG), but you can stack with discounted gift cards to bring it down even further.

I believe the deal expires 7 AM tomorrow (21-07-2021).

If y'all use Netflix, get the Chromecast with Google TV + 6 months of Netflix credit for $140. Works out to be cheaper if you're planning on using Netflix for the next 6 months.

    • I got the same myself from the first Google TV deal that was posted.
Although I must say I had to wait 6 months for the credit to finish so I could move to Argentina. It turns out to be cheaper.

      • Argentina still works? Do I always have to be on VPN to watch or only during signup?

        • You have to wait for your current subs to end. Then use a vpn for signing up again. Follow instructions here

      • Yeah I got with the initial deal as well. But needed another one recently, and found that the deal was still there, so why not right used it and save like $50 haha

      • Oh, say hey to my Opa while you're there.

It's never cheaper paying full price for Netflix. Argentina/turkey Netflix is way cheaper

    • Now long does delivery take when ordering from Google?

I'm in VIC, it was shipping from NSW, ordered Friday, got it on the Tuesday.

  • Nice finally got one

  • Out of curiosity. What do people use this for? I have watched YouTube reviews, but still don’t get it. Thanks

    • Functions as a sort of OS for your TV. The idea is it's a faster, snappier and more responsive way of accessing streaming services among other things.

      • Right, thanks. Good to know

If you already have a smart TV with most of the apps it’s probably not necessary, but even though I have a smart Samsung TV it’s good for recommendations, the voice remote, taking away on holiday and having all your streaming services with you and watching Kayo Sports in Split Screen. You can also load CinemaHD and Kodi for free new release movies, TV and Pay Per View sports.

It’s especially great if your TV isn’t smart or doesn’t have all the streaming apps.

I also have a non smart TV at home which I lost the remote for and I can now turn on the TV and control the volume with the Google TV remote as well as access most streaming apps.

agreed.. Mum's Kogan smart TV can't load the amazon prime app (and also fails at most other streaming apps) so I bought her one of these for the streaming apps she missed the most.

      • Right, thanks. Good to know

    • A cheap replacement for when the TV manufacturer / model ceases updates and apps stop working or get removed.

    • I use it for my Samsung TV since it's useless and can't run plex properly.

Can run select playstore apps as well, I use moonlight to stream a game from pc to TV when I just want to chill.

  • Does anyone use this for casting from Chrome on a PC. How easy is it?

    • Very easy, just open Chrome, click the menu bar and select "Cast"

  • How do these stack against a fire stick?

I have both and much prefer these to the Firestick
