    ECOWITT GW1001 Wi-Fi Weather Station $127.49 Delivered

This was selling for $65.86 a few months back…

  •

These go alright - its this:
    http://www.foshk.com/Wifi_Weather_Station/GW1001.html
    Badged as ecoWitt.

I prefer a unit with a colour display unit for inside. This one however can link to other sensors, like moisture probes if that is of interest.

      No price on this one.
      Any idea on this?

      •

You can’t buy direct from FOSHK. They’re the factory that makes most of the weather stations on eBay or Amazon.

  •

OP, can you do a deal on the ECOWITT WH2910C? I would like the screen.

    •

      Any good?

Edit: On 2nd thoughts forget it, that's a shyte price. OP, any deal on this?

  •

What's the point? Can't you just use a professional one in your area which you can have access to for free via a phone app or online?

      Can you?

      •

Anyone can. Just google search "your suburb weather" the app by BOM is another alternative.

        •

Most places have different weather than even the nearest BOM station. If you are interested in weather, it is interesting.

A bit like saying “Why buy headphones other than the ones that came free with my phone.”

Yes but it's only updated every 20-30 minutes. Imagine if the time on your watch/phone was like that. Sure you could get by, but it would piss you off no end.

I can highly recommend Ecowitt. They have a responsive team that continuously improves software and hardware. A great modular product, you can keep extending as you wish. I have mainly indoor sensors, but thinking of extending outdoors.

This (ecowitt) unit, or La Cross unit @ Costco https://www.costco.com.au/BBQs-Outdoor-Living/Lawn-Garden/Ga...
Any thoughts on which is better of the two, and why?

If you don't want to buy the device, you can just sign up to https://www.ecowitt.net/ and find one near you. I have a few in the next street over from me.
