  • Is the Ram 3200mhz or 3600mhz? website says its 3200mhz

  • +5

Any chance for a 5800X or 5900X system with 32gb of DDR4 ram?

    • I would get one too with that spec…

    • you mean for a free upgrade?

      • +1

Free is always nice but no just as an optional upgrade.

    • -1

Yeah it's weird they wouldn't pair a 3080ti with a higher spec cpu

      • -1

I can see they are trying to go for max performance for gaming but I can see maybe some people getting use out of a 5800X if they do maybe some productivity stuff or streaming maybe.

I just want the 5800X for future proofing and if going this high gpu wise might as well try get a high spec cpu also to match their performance so less chance of bottlenecks.

But as gpu prices stand it is a good price.

  • Can we do this same with a 3080 and Ryzen?

    • +3

That might be a possibility in the near future, we will definitely let our team source it, please keep an eye on our posts/website😉

thanks for your support & feedback!

      • Thanks for confirming. That means stocks are on the way. Prices are suppose to go further down.

    • +9

I suppose you expect them to build it for you at a loss?

      • Yes okbianka, wake up! You can't just bring the future forward.

    • +9

CPU is $400 on sale, PSU is $170, $2,400 for the GPU brings us to $2,970 already.

Either you got ripped off buying your 3080 ti or this is a pretty decent price. Looks like they're selling the GPU at what counts as a normal price right now and throwing in everything else essentially at cost.

      • +2

If he's paid 2.4k he's most likely picked up a EVGA FTW3 card, which is a top end card.

This build comes with a Gigabyte Eagle, which is one of the worst cards available, with thermal pads that barely, if at all touch the PCB in some instances, which is why the majority of warranty returns so far have been from Gigabyte, and as such is definitely worth less than the EVGA

    • not sure how it's a bad deal if CPU, motherboard, ram, PSU, case, SSD for an extra 500 over your 2.4k when the CPU alone is worth $350+ if bought separately… you should refund your 3080 ti and buy this pack and sell the parts if you don't need them.

    • +3

      OK Bianca.

    • +1

      RUOKBianca?

    • 2.4k for a 3080ti??? Hahahahahahahaha

      • We have come a long bad way from $1000 GTX 1080 Ti's

    • 2.4k, madness.

  • -4

Worse than previous deal. Must hodl. Give us a nice 3070 build.

  • +3

The main question to this is, is it LHR or non LHR version? lol

    • +8

all 3070 ti/3080 ti are LHR.

      • -1

Careful, I suspect his comment was tongue-in-cheek (as could be mine, I'll decide in a minute).

    • +1

      All 3080 ti's are LHR.

      • i think only the founders edition is not LHR

        • Nope, with the ti cards even the founder editions are LHR (except the 3060ti)

nVidia confused everyone by saying they wouldn’t switch to lhr versions for existing fe cards, but since the only version of the 3070ti and 3080ti is the lhr one that’s all you can get, they’re not developing a different one.

People have the cards and have confirmed this. You can mine ERG at full hash rate with a workaround (play a video while mining) but not ETH.

    • Thanks guys for the confirmation as I couldn't find clear information on the net

    • +3

Don't know why the downvote. Legit question. Neutralized.

  • HODL for a sub $2000 3070 or sub $2500 3080 non-LHR build

    • +6

There's no point HODLing for a non-LHR build, they basically don't exist anymore. Might find a couple of cheap ones pop up as old stock clears but they won't be going into system builds because there's no regular stock for them. Mostly it'll be filling preorders or clearing out one offs.

  • +1

Well there's my 3080ti well under $3k now. Prob is (and it may be a big prob) I want the founders.

    • +2

I don't think we are officially getting founder's editions in Australia, which leaves you with purchasing one internationally which means you don't get a warranty.

  • Great deal, considering 3080 Tis are being sold for around $3k on their own

    • -7

      They're around $2.4K now

  • RTX3080 price has really crashed

  • Stock CPU cooler?

  • +1

Good deal considering the current GPU market.
I had a recent experience with MSY, Requested an order cancellation (due to a change of mind) and I have got an immediate response and fast resolution, I found their customer service responsive and friendly.

@Rep, Any upcoming deals on Ryzen 5900 or 5950X with 3080 or 3080ti builds?

Btw, what do you mean 'to people'? I mean, why not warn everyone?

Yeah good note for those new to MSY, especially as I haven't seen them here recently. They're cheap, but the trade off is absent service (not even "terrible" lol). Also illegal practices too…

    • +1

this is old news, msy is different now

      • I'm fairly fairly competent with tech, so I don't need the support and have still shopped at MSY. Thier service has been consistently absent. Anyone that would rely on the help/advice from the store, I direct to PLE/others.

        • not sure how you define absent, they are just like mwave, umart from my experience

        • Nothing wrong with msy, you know what you want , go to shop and buy it

      • old/new msy still has the same director, managers, and the way it operated still remain the same. If you know what you're after and have experience in troubleshoot, msy is great place, otherwise, you should spend your money elsewhere.

      • +1

can't vouch other state, but MSY SA is day and night different than they were previously. I had way better warranty experience in MSY than UMart in SA. In MSY you just tell them what's wrong and they test it and bang you are in business again, umart SA was asking me back and forth to help them create a RMA ticket to manufacturer. Both item was new product dead on arrival.

  • so whats the cooler and why cant we upgrade it?

  • +3

With the high end GPUs being sold cheaper and cheaper by various companies it would be silly to buy now unless you NEED it right now.

  • +1

What's the specific model of the motherboard?

  • debating if this is worth upgrade from 2080 gpu, 2700x Ryzen cpu

    • If you're gaming at 1440p or 4k def yes, 1080p def no

    • -1

Not at 1440 bro your 2080 is fine.

  • pretty solid deal ngl.

  • HOLD!

  • Hi MSY,

Do you have an option to increase the Storage for this model? Or is it possible to replace the SSD myself with a larger sized one when I receive the desktop?

    • +1

You can always upgrade storage in a desktop. Either by adding additional drives or replacing the ssd it comes with to a higher capacity.

    • Hey

Thanks for your question, this system deal is sold as advertised and you can replace the SSD by yourself if you're happy to upgrade it with extra cost on top of it.

However, your storage options feedback is indeed valuable to us and we'll definitely look into it. Meanwhile, please stay up to date with our more upcoming deals!

  • Dont forget the $28 extra fee we have to pay..

  • -2

I'd be keen to pickup in person, is this a possibility at all @MSY?

    I'm in Croydon north Victoria

    • +1

      were in lockdown..

exclusively for online delivery only. also

      • They have a store within 5km of me :)

        • -1

yes but lockdown, their pcs are not NEEDED. lol.
their stores are likely closed with many others.

  • +3

CPU, GPU, PSU are fire, but rest of the components are meh,,, if they swapped b550 into a decent one with wifi, and kingston 480gb 2.5" ssd into m2, and made the price around $3099, that would've been great.

    • I agree, but then it wouldn't be a "bargain". Some people only care about the headlining features, and then they look at the price.

  • Hey

    • thanks, but will a PCIe Wi-Fi Adapter fit in this case and motherboard with this GPU?

    • Hi, just wondering what cooler for this build? and what is the motherboard model? Thanks

  • -3

MSY Auburn in-store are garbage. Wouldn't let me purchase anything unless I placed the order on my phone. You'd think maybe that was because they didn't want to process payment on site (maybe that's fair enough) except that you can still select "pay in store" so what was the point? Such a tedious task when the website was awful and stock levels weren't correct

    • Did you do this in the last week?

      • No this was weeks ago. I can't travel beyond 10kms now due to lockdown

        • Thought it was them being covid safe compliant moving to click and collect only as directed last week.

Probably just moved to covid measures earlier in the lockdown as a precaution.

          • @Trance N Dance: Yes I thought so too - but if they were still processing payment in store, why couldn't the staff member just hand me the items without me using their website to select them. Doesn't make sense to me. There weren't even other shoppers to serve, the staff member just didn't want to work. I've been a customer of MSY Auburn for 10-15 years, and the service has always been bad but my last visit was just too much to handle. Unlike a decade ago there are more competitive prices to be found, so putting up with bad customer service from MSY is no longer necessary. Even after their fines from the ACCC for dodgy business practices, it seems that they will never change

  • Would this over overkill for 165fps @1080p in AAA titles?

    • +1

Imho the future proof is worth it.

You might get a few more years compared to say if you got a 3070 and that could be worth the convenience and set and forget bonus alone.

But if you want to build for just now a 3080 should do what you want perfectly.

But this is a pretty good price if you want that stuff now.

    • +1

Yes, you don't need this for 1080p, this build will shine on 1440p high refresh or 4k

  • ok bianca lmao

  • glad I missed the last deal now, bought this one instead cheers :)

  • Anyone wanna buy the whole machine without the GPU?

  • +3

I’m older dude but after doing like 5 years off gaming I got back in 5 years ago as my life progressed back to being a homebody (married, kids etc). I was blown away that my 1080GTI was like $1900 (upgrading from a 7970 which was like $500) so I waited and waited until it was about $1200ish I think from memory. It stung but I thought (profanity) it I’m older I can afford it.

I’m just blown away that not even 5 years later people are needing to put down $3k to buy a sole graphics card to play some video games. I might be in my 30s have a decent job and can drop $1200, but man I feel for the parents who try and get their kids a cool gaming set up and need upwards of $Xk to get a decent system.

Yeah I’m aware of much lesser cards but that’s not the point. To play the good stuff now is ridiculous. /End old person rant

    • +1

Wait until you need a new ipad and realise your paid less for your first car.

    • +1

I don't understand what's the good stuff kids are missing without a Rx 6000 series or RTX 3000 series. Is it 4k gaming at 60fps? Hardware ray tracing? I mean for a kid who is not earning their own money? Seriously?

  • +2

Hey MSY, why do you still have the GPU alone for $2899? Does this just prove your GPU prices are over-inflated? Here, buy this GPU for $2899 and we'll thrown in a whole system for $100. It doesn't really help us folks who just need the GPU.
