I ordered some oil off them took them over 1 week and didnt even ship yet had to ask them twice to get my refund

    • +2 votes

Sorry I have no idea about them, just saw the eBay posting and posted.

    • +4 votes

same here, didnt post until two weeks, then when contacted they said not in stock and will take another 2 weeks, so ended up asking for a refund.

    •

It took 2-3 weeks to get the brakes. The sent it with Couriers Please and those were horrible.

Spares box are a drop shipper.

They never have anything in stock.

I waited 6 weeks for my brake rotors to arrive

    • +1 vote

at least you got yours, over 2 months to get something resolved. I wouldn't recommend them.

  • +7 votes

yep same for me 6 weeks to get brake shoes never again. saved like $5

  • +1 vote

I've orderded from them a couple times and no issues. Oils, belts, hoses, seemed to arrive quick enough. I wasn't expecting much given their low prices. Was pleasently surprised overall and quality of product as good as anywhere else.

    • +1 vote

Same, i've not had an issue and I've ordered twice from them varying products

      •

        Same, no issues.

    •

No issues as well, delivery timescales have always been 2 to 3 days

  • +1 vote

I've probably spent a couple of grand with them either thru their eBay store or direct in the past 12-18 months. Only thing I had to wait a while for was a performance air filter for our A45 but it had a long lead time so I was prepared to wait. Everything else takes about a week to arrive to Perth, no complaints from me.

  • +1 vote

Nothing but out of stock orders and massive delays in shipping for me to Perth. Awful company.

  • +12 votes

Do not buy from this store. They have items that show in stock which are actually out of stock. The shipping times are atrocious and there is no way to contact them as they have jumped on the covid blaming bandwagon(no way to contact them)

    Buy at your own risk

    https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/spares-box

    Positive reviews are fake

    • +2 votes

      Aw shit, too late.

    • +1 vote

hmm I've bought a few things from them and never had a problem before…

    • +3 votes

Yep. Bought O2 sensors which were "in stock", a month later said out of stock - yet 2 months later to this day they're still listed as in stock on their ebay store. Thought it was just an oversight so I bought through their online store. Same thing, order got cancelled. And yes, still listed as available on their store.

    • +1 vote

This is true, they often post items in stock then the supplier will be out of stock.
I have had this happen and one time they upgraded me to performance shock absorbers at no cost which was a big price difference. Other times they just refund.
Some other items take a while to ship, so be prepared to wait for suppliers.
If you’re getting a good discount and don’t mind waiting 1-2 weeks at most then they’re great.
I buy my liqui moly engine oil and additives in bulk when discounted.

    • +1 vote

I had a similar experience too - bought something as I needed it quickly and it showed as in stock. It ended up being dispatched over a week later ??

Bought an air filter for my Ford falcon. Came to only $26.36, thanks OP.

    • +1 vote

Bosch PBR505 brake rotors pair for $63.16 to suit Falcon rears. Thanks OP.

Seems to have some mixed reviews - Bought some eibach prokit springs off them, no isssues. (pre-covid times) so delivery didn't take very long even if they were drop-shipping. It was a good $60-$80 off the local price.

  •

    I've ordered, no issues.

  •

Ive been ordering from them for a long time.. never had any issues.

  •

Hate how the prices vary between listing price on ebay to their website.

  •

Never had an issue with them and ordered many times. If something is OOS or backorder they will contact you about it.

    • +1 vote

      OK Mr Associated.

      •

        What the?

  • +1 vote

they price jack on brake rotors

    •

I found the opposite for my HSV. Got a pair of DBA's for the price of a single rotor at SCA, Repco etc last time I got some from them.

      •

I had FPV Brembo rotors in my cart before this "20%" off then when I found out that there was a 20% off I went to go check out I found that the price is now 50bucks more that what it was pre 20% off

        •

The eBay price will fluctuate according to what sales they are having on their main website. So if they have 20% off direct, they will drop the eBay price accordingly. When that sale ends, the eBay price goes back up. You can get some ripper deals when you can double dip the discount though

          •

@whitelie: so only 5% off only compare to normal prices

Did they address the possible data breach yet?

      Do share. What data breach?

Can the store be put into a penalty box until they come clean about the data leak?

@poulay: I did ask some follow up questions which didn't receive a response. Very disappointing.

    •

      Ignore, i cant read.

  • +2 votes

Seem to be a lot of Sparesbox shills commenting on this post on their never having experienced any issues… convenient..

    • -1 vote

      Can't people share positive experiences?

I've ordered probably 20 times from Sparesbox and only had 1 order that took a bit longer than normal. Everything else has been a great experience.

      •

Agreed. Probably in the same boat with the number of orders and also only 1 order that took a long time but it specified a lead time of 20-30 days so obviously not in stock.

Even the wipers I ordered from one of the last deals that got posted here arrived today, which is a week exactly after ordering.

    •

For those interested, I'm no shill. My comments above are genuine. I went into it expecting little and came out happy, saved a whack of money too.
Give it a try, what's the worst that can happen? Delay, refund, time wasted. Email and check stock availability first maybe.

  •

I am someone who has ordered multiple times from Sparesbox and not once had an issue.

I even got the 5w30 oil within 2 days of purchase a couple months back and was pleasantly surprised!

  • +1 vote

    Simples.

Buy popular stuff; it will arrive in a week.

Buy obscure stuff; good luck lol.

  •

I've bought spark plugs from them before, was happy with the price and they were prompt.

Time to place that GTX55 order?

  • +1 vote

Always the cheapest for my rotors by a decent amount during their regular 20% off specials.

    •

Agree. Bought a pair for a little more than a price of one. Going by reviews, re no stock and long delays, I've factored to replace next year lol.

      •

Ive never waited more than about 3 weeks for rotors, even on backorder. You can tell at checkout if they've got them in stock or if they are on order from supplier. (On order usually says 10+ business days shipping

        •

          Thanks for the heads up.

          •

@vinni9284: If it's not clear I meant on their retail site not ebay

  • +1 vote

Sucks to be any of us in regional cos they only post to metro for their eBay listings.

I "had" to buy from their main website because of this, and the order didn't ship for quite some time. Allegedly one bundle item was delayed coming in from the wholesaler, I mentioned they should probably mark it as OOS (given it was nearly a week after I ordered), they claimed it wasn't really OOS, just unexpected delays. They were going to just ship my other stuff in advance, but I think they ended up finding all the parts to make up the bundle and shipped that out.

For those experiencing issues contacting them, I didn't have a problem talking with them in online chat on their website - whether it really achieved much is debatable, but at least someone talked to me (twice, even!).

EDIT: Just clicked in, huh, they've allowed some regional areas back in now! Nice?
EDIT: There's a similarish sale on their main website, not all items are available on the ebay store.

  •

Never had a problem with sparesbox, spewing tho I ordered of their ebay on the weekend, no discount for me.

  • +2 votes

So I have some parts I wanted to buy for the ute and the project got put on hold months ago.

Thought awesome 20% sale. Opened up the old spreadsheet and lo and behold with current 20% off, the same parts match EXACTLY the old non-discounted pricing in the spreadsheet!

So absolutely bogus 20% saving. Having said that Sparesbox is usually cheaper than the rest on a lot of items.

Might just do a price-match somewhere local.

  • +2 votes

Item on eBay, $130 after applying 20% discount, the same item on their website is $130…

  •

Already received my air filter. Didn't expect it to arrive so fast and just put in another order for some TBL22 Trico wipers.

  •

Got mine today too. Very fast.
